  1. I hadn't seen this yet, but it is HORRIBLE. This would hands down be the ugliest car on the roads here in the States. Aztek ain't got nothing on it. God, it's like a badly drawn Korean car mixed with Batman.
  2. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/05/02/pontiac...sale/2#comments I don't see why GM would not sell Pontiac to someone who is willing to buy, unless there is the slim chance they plan to reintroduce limited run models in the future. I really like that idea, actually.

  4. Sales figures here: http://pressroom.toyota.com/pr/tms/toyota-...ales-90513.aspx
  5. Article Link Sales Chart PDF It appears Ford outsold Toyota for the month, 134,401 vs. 126,540.
  6. 40 hedge fund managers are sticking it to hundreds of thousands of Chrysler employees and retirees. Hedge funds are a cancer to this economy...we need to eliminate them like Europe is currently doing.
  7. I would hope our businesses have enough common sense to walk away from this. America basically did the same thing to Great Britain during the 18th and 19th century. As a young country, our farmers and laborers had little of the technical knowledge that industrialists in Great Britain had. Everything we manufactured was inferior to British machinery. However, we managed to lure British innovators and engineers to America who then duplicated British technology (see: Slater the Traitor) and allowed us to catch up (and eventually surpass) the British at their own game. By the late 19th century, American railroads, textile production, and steel making were among the best in the world while Great Britain began to slip behind Germany and even France. China could easily play this same game with us. They don't have the blueprints, but they have the workforce and the skilled labor to beat us at our game if they can get access. I really hope our companies do not sell themselves out, because the blow will be fatal.
  8. http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/dy/business...24TDY01304.htm I say screw 'em...ship the jobs off to Indonesia, Malaysia, and elsewhere and have them sign agreements so that these kinds of stunts will not be pulled again in the future. This is going to come back to bite China in the end.
  9. 99% perfect, except for the fish-gill flaps at the front. The side view is freakin hot...very few cars today look that sleek in profile.
  10. That's true, and I hope they do so that Ford might decide to join them in that segment. Who knows, it might even force GM to stop dragging its feet on RWD.
  11. I am holding out that perhaps Ford may become the rebel of the bunch....
  12. I took a small loss and dumped my GM stock today. I have no desire to hold it any longer. At least I have Ford to keep me sane right now.
  13. I heard this song the other day on TV or somewhere and it has been bugging me that I can't figure out who sings it. I have no idea what the lyrics are except that there is a male vocalist that goes "do - do Do DOO" repeatedly in the chorus, while a guitar is plucked. It's a very slow, mellow song...it reminds me of summer. I'm guessing it's from the 70s by the way it sounds, but I really have no idea. I'm pretty sure it has been used in one or more movies before.
  14. This is actually starting to get pretty serious...it has already spread to New York, California, Texas, Kansas, and Minnesota. It's also apparently in Nova Scotia, New Zealand, Britain, and other places now. This is all within the last 24-48 hours. Apparently it has been largely affecting the 20-40 age range and the mortality rate has been about 6%. It has gotten to the point where officials say the spread is beyond control. On the bright side, it seems like most deaths have been contained to Mexico and some in New York have recovered, but we are still in the early stages of this outbreak. My mom contracted the Swine Flu during the last big outbreak in 1976 and she nearly died from it. She went from 120 lbs down to 90 lbs while hospitalized over a 2 week period, and it took her months to regain full energy back.
  15. I got bored reading most of it, but one line did catch my attention. I do agree with this line and wonder if the focus on strictly green will actually connect with consumers or just be another bunt that will do little to save GM. I was a huge Volt proponent and still think it would be a nice car for GM to have, but it's over a year and a half away. No doubt it has probably consumed far more money than had GM spent it on fast-tracking the Cruze for US markets or improving the existing fleet. I know GM couldn't have predicted the market bottoming out like it did, but the Volt is simply the wrong car at the wrong time.
  16. Not a good sign... http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/23/business...tml?_r=1&hp
  17. My apartment complex doesn't have recycling so I end up throwing a lot away. Sometimes I'll bring a bunch of newspapers and other paper to work and put it in the recycling bin there, but otherwise lots of perfectly good recyclables get tossed.
  18. I never really understood the hate for Comic Sans, but then again I think it's one of those field-specific peeves that only certain groups get really worked up over (kind of like how lots of architects hate AutoCAD 2008, yet the general public would never know or care why). The only time I really ever pay attention to fonts is when I am putting together a presentation board or doing some graphic design thing...otherwise, they're just kind of there and I don't really think about it.
  19. I heard the secret to getting Shamwow to work properly is that you have to get it slightly wet first. I guess when it's dry it doesn't soak up moisture as well.
  20. It's not too often you find these cars both unmodified and in great shape. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1951-Mercur...A1%7C240%3A1318
  21. Did he practice his script at all before shooting this video? There seems to be a lot of fumbles and bumbles. Boring video.
  22. When I was a kid, I used to draw the United States with all the borders and could even place at least 3 major cities in each state on the map. I used to look at road atlases all the time on family vacations and could do it all from memory.
