Hmmm ... it was live earlier and hasn't been reposted. Guess they sold it to someone else. The Buick should be ok and I'm recovering all of my losses from buying the 307 and hiring someone to help put it in the car. When I decided to put another engine in the Buick, I had planned to use the money regained from the sale of the Rocket 350 and the trans for a T/A or Firebird project. Anyway, just forget I said anything at all.

Ah, there are shitty cars everywhere you go. Perhaps if I were looking for a DD as before, I seriously would.

It's a joke. The joke is that it isn't a joke.

Looking at the picture, I think that '86 Firebird might actually be an '86 T/A. It looks as if it has the T/A fender vents ...

So, with my paycheck here and the Olds motor leaving at the end of the week, I'll have enough cash to buy either one of these two cars. 1986 Pontiac Firebird, 5.0L V8 with 113K miles (swapped from an '85 Camaro), runs and drives, needs some mild bodywork, paint, and a home: http://lexington.craigslist.org/cto/1465976167.html 1979 Pontiac Firebird "Redbird Edition", no motor or transmission, needs bodywork and paint, usable interior: Now, if I buy the '79 Firebird, I'll be putting a 403 in it which I can pick up for $150 bucks. I could save that money easy, maybe keep the TH350-R I have, and put it on the road while I do the bodywork. Because Redbird cars are rare, I would probably just restore it back to stock. However, I wouldn't be surprised if I cloned it to a T/A. As for the '86, I thought I would take some inspiration from this car: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9eO7rYC5xs

Push comes to shove
That's very low-miles for a '94. Best of luck sorting your situation out, Camino.

ZL-1 I hear you may have H1N1
I have never had H1N1, I didn't bother with the vaccine ... and so far so good. *knocks on wood* I especially hate how the media portrays H1N1 to be the next Black Plague that's going to wipe three-quarters of mankind off of the face of the Earth. It was the same damn way with the bird flu outbreak and mad cow disease before that. I do hope you feel better ZL-1. Being under the weather is never any fun.

On the road again...
Drive that Caddy 'til the wheels fall off, man. Good to hear you made the old ship sturdy as the Rock of Gibraltar.

The 3800 in the old Bird-turd actually had a logical place for the oil filter, right in front of the engine. You could reach down through the doghousing and unscrew it if you wanted to.- My luck ...
I could find a 3.8L block from a junk Regal Limited and just start from there or yank a 3800 Series II and a five-speed out of an F-Body and then turbocharge that. I do love my V8s, though. I am too. We have something really in common then; I've always wanted a T/A since I was a kid. You know which movie to blame it on too. I have a lead on a good sub-grand T/A as well as a Firebird Redbird. Depending if I get rid of the Olds 350 and the TH350R, I'll have the money to bring the better car home. Finding one in good shape for next nothing is impossible. I had my chance to own one a few months before I bought the Cutlass, but the floorboards were rotten and the rear fenders were loaded with Bondo and poorly flared with fiberglass. A guy would have to play a lot of scratch-offs to get one, though.- Wii shortage
You can't give away a Wii here. When it first came out and was the cheapest NG console, you couldn't keep one on a shelf. Now with the price drops in the 360 and PS3, which actually have real games, the Wii just collects dust.- Restraint
Exactly why I'm interested.- Project Camino!
Are those T/A GTA wheels on the wagon? A set would look nice on the Regal ...- Rusty Bugatti Veyron
Let me add this to my "Reasons Why To Never Go To Texas" list.- Shopping for a used car
The only choice here, then, is the BMW or a used G8. My vote goes to the used G8, although I voted Bimmer in the poll.- What Are You Listening To?
Great band, great album.- Restraint
I might just check it out this Spring and, if it's for me, put everything in motion by next Fall. Imagine that. An affordable house that you don't have to rent. Why is real estate so much more expensive in Kentucky? What is this state's saving grace other than the Corvette Plant and Museum?- Restraint
You know, real estate in PA isn't as expensive as I first thought ... http://pittsburgh.craigslist.org/reo/1464787362.html You can find real estate in KY that cheap ... but six times out of ten it's in the middle of nowhere, miles away from nothing, in the worst possible areas of the state.- 2 BIRTHDAYs today!
Have a great one guys!- Restraint
I've been checking out Pittsburgh since your suggestion, and so far, it does seem pretty nice for a large city ...- Restraint
I did find out that I can qualify for financial aid recently where I still haven't moved out yet to save on bills. I wouldn't mind going to Berea College, but they base a lot of their admissions on your parents' income now, which is a big reason why tuition is free. Because of that, my chances for admission are slim. You're fine man. No worries. It would be great to find a girl who wouldn't mind turning a wrench, but so far all of my ex's haven't been able to distinguish a wrench from a ratchet. - Incredibly Stupid Designs of the Mundane
