  1. I was, in fact, alive all of the times where I had seen the '70 - '72 era Chevelle in a car show or rolling down a city street and I clearly recall those cars in my memories of them today. If it is not nostalgia, then it certainly feels like it. I love that era of Chevelle, though. It was the definitive zenith of that nameplate, in my opinion, and it was one of the best-looking A-Bodies available. The side sculpting is so muscular and well toned, I can hardly fault the design at all.
  2. ... In the mood for a little nostalgia.
  3. I had a Samsung DVD player and two Samsung cell phones and they were just rubbish. For example, when I lightly dropped one of the cell phones in a closed position, the screen went blank and would not come back on. I now have an RCA DVD player and a Motorola Rizr and both were well worth the money I spent to get them.
  4. Hmm ... this really conflicts with Chevrolet's "global brand" positioning where no market will get an wholly exclusive model.
  5. I have not had good experiences with Samsung products, so I would not recommend them.
  6. Isn't the Malibu undergoing consideration to be shipped to Brazil as well? Can we say "overlap?"
  7. Hmm ... yeah, I did not really realize just how short the rear decklid was at first either until I saw this particular profile shot of it. It is still an attractive design, though.
  8. I will let the photos speak for themselves. I know what you are trying to say, FOG, and it is that you could take the fascia on the Insignia and transplant it to a Malibu without any modification. It would not work that way as the Malibu's fenders have a more pronounced flare than the Insignia's fenders and the Malibu's hood cutline meets up differently with the front fascia than the Insignia's hood cutline.
  9. You sound so positively negative! Are you my own mother by any chance? You sound just like her!
  10. :rotflmao: Oh, the SRT-4 in the SRT-4 motivational poster is not, well, an SRT-4. It is a Neon with an "SRT Design" appearance package.
  11. Could someone explain to me just exactly what that red ... thing sticking up from the center of the hood might be? It makes me think of a rooster's comb:

    hmmm...

They always have had loyalty rebates. We were considering trading our G6 in for a Torrent and such a rebate was being offered, and this was almost one year ago.
  13. HongQi announces new photochopped Lincoln MKT crossover! Yes, that is pronounced like "honky." Link to original Article @ Autoblog
  14. Other than my few design complaints regarding the Insignia, I actually agree with what you have just said. I am genuinely interested to see what the EP II Saabs and Chevrolet will turn out to be like.
  15. And I believe I have gotten my answer. :AH-HA_wink:
  16. Well, isn't that incentive enough to try and kick things off on a better model as it's replacement? Or let it just silently fade away?
  17. I stand corrected.
  18. What a waste of ten dollars in raw steel (regarding the side vent).
  19. The front fascia on the Chevrolet is a little better executed, overall, in my opinion. But, no, you could not swap the front-end of the Opel onto the front-end of the Chevrolet and vice versa. They are not exactly the same.
  20. You know, unions did start out with good intentions -- better pay and better working environments for the everyday working man -- but now they have pushed beyond the point of being greedy. Should there be a cap on how much a union can do? Perhaps.
  21. Thank you, Cort. The Monte you linked to does not look too bad, but if you notice in the interior shot which displays the dash, the are some really dark spots in the carpet and Dad thinks these are probably areas where the floorboards have rusted through. As for if he wants a project or finished car, well ... let's just say he wants a car that is in need of a some TLC, but nothing major. :AH-HA_wink:
  22. Mmm ... very tasty! This is, by far, the best designed Buick sedan in ages.
  23. Hmm ... I agree with you, overall.
