in '59 plenty of Cadillacs & Buicks had power windows, but that being said my '64 Super 88 had manual windows. I don;t mind manual windows, they are much less prone to breakage and regulator damage, etc...

Not 100% sure, but think goof-off might work. 1st, try some on a inconspicuous location on the paint to make sure it will not discolor the clearcoat, strip paint or some other damage... like maybe the inside of the door jamb or trunk lid... if that test turns out ok I bet the goof-off might be your best solution.

Balthazar: Here's a nice, stock, non-riced out MB hardtop CLK.
-
Indeed... GMs reluctance to produce affordable RWD cars & hardtops makes me frustrated like nothing else.

Man speaking of which I wish we had more junkyards like the on in Luisiana.
-
True 'bout the Stinkin Lincolns... but also worth mentioning: - Rotted out midsize pickups w/a bed full of crap, high percentage of these are Toyota Tacomas & Ford Rangers. - Old W-bodys, Contours & Tauruses w/ nASScar stickers all over their rumps. - Ford Aerostar/WIndstar, Dustbusters & Mopar minivans, esp. with garbage bag for a window...

I gave Dodgefan a spirited drive in the 500SEC yesterday afternoon, I think we were doing about 105 or so, definitely triple digits for a good stretch, & yes... ALL FOUR windows were down the entire time. I was having a blast, but I think I remember DF saying something like: "I hope you have good brakes, ....are we going to die?" Truth be told I did get a little too excited in showing it off, but no harm was done, also we hit the junkyard for a few hours, then the Mercedes' trunk outsmarted me, as I did not know it opens with the lock cylinder in the door. Crazy Germans, I know there's usually a method to their madness but I do need to find me an owner's manual on eBay or what not... esp. with many of the buttons, labels & warning stickers on the car being in German only. Oh, & we also saw a triple blue 1975 Cadillac coupe deVille at the junkyard that looked so rotted it reminded more of a 1950s car that has sat in a wet, Louisiana junkyard SINCE 1975. Too bad, because the original 500 was still under the hood and overall the car was very complete. If/when gas prices settle down and the MB gets past the 1/4 of a million miles mark maybe we'll rip out that SOHC 5.0 & dropp in a Cadillac 500 to make a 820SEC! Idea # 37,294,556 that will never happen. It's always fun to dream though.

I'm actually NOT a big fan of ragtops and would rather have a pillarless hardtop, BUT this is one sharp, clean Impala. Sky blue on white? Sharp as a box of ginsu knives.

LS7 in a Zeta sedan can never be a bad thing... yes the body kit is a bit wild but then again this aint some ricer FWD Taurus SHO, Honda Accord EX or a Toyo-Lex ES330, this is a fire breathing, 500 horsepower BMW slayer. Oh by the way guys... I bought a gently used McLaren F1, here's a photo of it, parked in front of my house with my Massachusetts plates on it. Yeah, fall hit early this year.
-
PCS: No offense but you're NOT making any sense in this situation. You have NOT explained why/how that red zeta, whatevertis has been proven to be quite the opposite of your claim and furthermore you insist on digging a hole. Sorry but I my personal opinion is that you were called out!

Yeah I'm a dope for saying '69 Challeger when I should have said the '69 Dodge lineup... The Dart, Charger, Coronet & Super Bee have nothing in common with the '70 Challenger which is fine except for the fact that both these new for 1970 pony/muscle cars, Plymouth (Barra)'Cuda & Challenger had styling that made them look very much like plus-sized, extra wide '69 Camaros. If the '67 Camaro borrowed from the Mustang it was 10% If I was to throw out a persentage for the Mopar E-bodys borrowing from the '67-'69 F-bodys, I'd honestly say 66.6% The Mustang was squared off, had hard corners & hard lines, the greenhouse on the hardtop notchback was formal and the car was quite slab-sided except for the huge non-functional scoop. The headlights were like sideways sugar-scoops, and the grille protruded forward to dominate the busy nose, the concave tail light panel was also very upright and blockish. NOw the '67 F-bodys? They had the Mustang's proportions, except +size a bit, but the E-N-T-I-R-E design language profile, nose, tail lights panel, greenhouse & reoccurring styling theme was completely diffrent. The '67 Camaro/Firebird's clean, futuristic & simple design did not have a squarish notchback greenhouse or a fastback, it was a hybrid, hardtop with a laid back rear window, it had a sculpted look to it, it flowed like liquid, one of the things it had that was revolutionary for it's day was a very drastic tumble-home and big, sexy, catlikt kickup over the rear 1/4s... In profile from a distance, say as a silhouette, you could def. confuse and E-body Mopar to be a GM F-body. BUt never would you see a Mustang & hesitate to think it might be an F-body of any generation. If I had the time I could tear that argument to shreds. ---- To all you "Vanahisng Point" loving Challenger lovers.... Did you know the final scene of the car crashing inot a bulldozer and exploding was a '67 Camaro. But the director thought that (I agree) at that speed a white '1967 Camaro would make a good dopleganger for a 1971 Challeger. Even I was fooled and had to slow down the DVD to see that, holoy cow, that's NOT a Challeger at all! Put that in you pipe and smoke it!

I fuc%ing HATE bureaucracy. Herer's an idea for the feds.... Build roads, maintain roads (and other infrastructure) invest heavily in military spending to keep us safe, help the shcools and after that stay the F*** ot of my way. I don't need to be babied in every aspect of my lfe. It really is retarded the amount of B.S. compliance issues that would crop up and the kind of inspection this car would have to undergo to be allowed importation/registration. It's got four wheels, brake lights and blinkers.... NEXT!

Love 'em or hate 'em the '70 'Cuda and Challenger were nothing more than blatant styling rip-offs of the '69 Camaro & Firebird TA from every angle. The hooded nose, recessed headlights, rear 1/4 kickup, greenhouse!!! the Cuda and Challenger of 1969 have ZERO in common with the '70s, the lack of continuity was Mopar's fault, they just gave up and decided to blatantly copy the F-body's winning styling DNA. Does this mean the '70-'72 E-body Mopars suck? Hardly. But they are VERY low on the originality scale, ad without the HEMI and legendary 440 they'd be worth pennies on the dollar right now.

'bloke: I'm kind of a weird half/Slovakian half Yank and I get frustrated with some American's ignorance when it comes to geography, blatant stupidity in terms of lack of common sense and/or their insistence on their point of view without any proof. However, stupid people reside in all countries, yours & mine are not exempt from this. Don't get disrespectful. I know you're frustrated with what seems like mounting evidence of bullcr@p on the part of PCS but maintain respect... if PCS is a pathological liar I can assure you Camino is NOT. I've met him ad will vouch for him and a few other members here... PCS on the other hand I have never met or even spoken to on a phone. ----- Camino: C'mon, I know you're trying to be the voice of reason and all, and I respect that but you've got to smell the B.S. by now?! PCS posted a photo, claimed it was a GM prototype/test car... whatever you want to call it with an LS7, and one hour and 8 minutes later 'Bloke calls him out saying the car in on Flickr. I went to FLICKR.com, searched for holden, vauxhall and the same exact photo shows up with many more of the exact same car sitting in the exact same spot. 'Bloke could not have forged the other photos and made up that whole conspiracy but PCS certainly could have just right clicked that pic. after a google search, dropped it into imageshack and told us all a bunch of hogwash... if there IS a perfectly good explanation than I'm waiting to hear it. I think we might hear either nothing or some crap about how he was not being 100% honest but it was a misunderstanding... Tick-tock THAT.

I agree... the G8 has some serious presance. It is very much a "sharp dressed sport sedan" as ZZ Top might say. It might not have the presance and bold lines of the M5 but it's certainly as elegant & as sporty as any non-M 5-series BMW! The only sedan on the market right now that I think is better looking than the Infiniti M45, & even then it's almost a tie. Well, actually I guess I'd say three way tie between CTS, G8 and the M45... the M5 is awesome and all but for that kind of money it's in a different price bracket all together.

AAaaahhh! So that is why you're not a big fan of Zetas and instead love the bread & butter FWD Opel junk.
-
Yeah, for that purpose a PT Cruiser or a Vibe would make more sense.

I personally think it's pretty ballsy to say you can teach K-12 ALL by yourself (or between two parents, point remains) no matter how intelligent you are or how much of a firm grasp you have on all that subject matter. Even all out genius level people with photographic memories often times can not articulate as well as they would like in conversation... and you're going to teach all that effectivelly at home without the support of a structured environment? If you have a bad math teacher or if you're stuck in an english class that just does not engage you then there's at least the chance that next year you will click better with your next teacher, having ONE person, parent or not teach all the subjects seems very overwhelming for both parties involved...

* bump * Waiting for PCS to get back from the Nuder-Beach.

DF: you know what's funny? XP and I were joyriding through Lawrencia during one of those recent floods (2006 IIRC) & we saw a few people do the EXACT same thing. I was feeling bold one time and despite seeing a few low to the ground japanese cars almost get stuck in a huge puddle (wide, long pool of water) it was maybe 14" deep... I almost went for it in the Super 88 but XP and a nearby woman yelling "DON DOOIT!" in half protugese/english made me reconsider. I didn't have some pussy cold air intake to ruin my day and the car's weather stripping was in great shape, plus I'm a ballsy & sometimes too bold dumb fu*k if I want to prove a point. Perhaps it's a good thing I did not try.

aatbloke is right, that thing is the exact same car on the flicker account and it's the exact same photo! PCS, you have some 'xplainin' to do.... Get caught with our pants down did we? It's 2008, & with the internet a sloppy BS artist gets called out pretty quickly. http://www.flickr.com/photos/11734496@N04/2395912809/ I went to flickr, typed "holden vauxhall" in the search window and it came up on the 1st page. Now what.... PCS?

right. And that's the point. Honda is for the stupid masses in 2008 the lowest common denominator for idiotic boy-racer Fast & Furiouser-er style stupidity. The people who have a decent but respectable built up Civic or Integra are the ones in the minority. Also, there's nothing more pathetic in the Automotive hobby, IMHO than "spending" (wasting) a 15, 20 or more hours to swap in a 1.8 liter Honda motor where a 1.6 liter just sat. What a fools errand. In less time you could have dropped an indestructible small block Chevy with twice the power... (you are setting the precident of forced induction) ... and fof less money. A worthwhile activity is spending two dozen hours to drop a Buick 455 stage II into a Jaguar XJS with a blown V12 or maybe replacing your '62 Impala's baby V8 (283) with a built up LS1. Wasting hours of time and agrevation just to gain 0.2 liters and 24 horsepower. With all due respect I think that is LAME.

Keep forgetting to post a photo I took abuot 3 weeks ago of a red P-379 carrying a car-hauler trailer jam-packed with about 10 tacomas. When I showed it to SpeedingPenguin he laughed and said LITTERALLY two or three truckloads of Tacomas are being shipped out of the Toyota dealer every day. He works as commercial parts manager at local parts store who's picture windows directly overlook the huge Toyota of Nashua superstore, they have one building for new cars, one for new trucks/suvs and one for all the used stuff. His window overlooks the SUV/Truck superstore. Another slap in the face? the building they use for new cars (Skions and Toyo-DUHs) was an Oldsmobile dealership for 4+ decades. DISGUSTING. sorry toget off topic, back to the Tacomas, I was shocked to hear this. I would have thought one, maybe two trucks a week tops. This is just ONE dealership and they're trucking away 20, 30 sometimes 40 Tacomas a day, every day for weeks now. The other day one pulled away onto D.W. Hgwy as SP was selling parts to a Tacoma owner and he laughed and said "I bet that makes you think twice about buying another Toyota..." to which the customer had a long-winded speech about Toyota practicing corporate responsibility by taking the trucks back etc. It boggles the mind.

I almost bought a silver '85 iron duke/5speed for a winter beater back in 2002.

Thanks guys. I think it bears repeating that less than a decade ago $2.00/gallon was absurd. It was abuse then, and it is esp. disgusting when people try to pull some stupid excuse out of thin air. I have a 4 yr degree, I;m not completetly retarded as my spelling & crappy typing skills may indicate. I understand developing nations and all that crap, supply & demand etc. The truth is $2.50 TODAY would be paying too much.
