  1. "Too much is better than not enough" "Do onto others as you would have them do onto you..." "If it wasn't for bad luck I would not have ANY at all"
  2. Excellent point!

I'd never spend Super-88 money on a Toronado but the 66 is a nice car. Yeah it's FWD but like the Cord L29 and 810 it's got the motor mounted the correct way, that counts for something. It's only half fu*ked up.
  4. Last night SpeedingPenguin & I drove down in the Q45 to Sturbridge so I could take a 2nd look at the '59 Buick. God I want that damn car, like LAST WEEK. On the way back in 01* cold we're driving down Rt.20 when out of the corner of my eye in a dark dirt parking lot next to a steel building I see the nose of a 1980s Cadillac. Even though it's a split second glance I'm almost sure it's a Bustleback Seville, def. either that or a Fleetwood Brougham, so I get over to the breakdown lane and back up a few hundred feet. It turns out to be a 1984 Seville with ~85K miles and a rebuilt Jaser engine. It's rotted and tacky, gold and bronze TT, fake continental kit built into the trunk, chrome straps on the rear and a sunroof. The guy poured $3900 into it for the motor and and a bunch of other repairs so natrually he's asking $2400.
  5. It's called sarcasm.... Live with it.
  6. An associate of T.W. just traded his 1984 Camaro for a Turbo G.P.
  7. Blood Sucker
  8. Awsome comparison!
  9. Never liked this design much, so many of DCX's concepts as of late look like they're cheap toys or Japanime...
  10. Yes... your times is worthless to the customer, they expect you to be late to dinner w/ your GF so that they can keep the dealer open another 30 minutes and test drive the blue Trailblazer since it might somehow drive differently than the exact same truck with the same options, only differance being a sunroof & pewter paint. And in the end they tell you thier brother in-law works at a Ford dealer so they'll probably go with the Explrer since the tailgate lock is easier to find... and then as a final F.U. they tell you: "THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!" This is the most insulting and overused expression in the car biz.
  11. Saturn is finally not a thorn in my side. Doesn't Saturn still owe like $479,284,526,098 to GM, before interest....? Perhaps they can pay back GM by funding the rebirth of Oldsmobile!
  12. Let's compare it to a Mazda Tribute....
  13. Not to pick on "Avro206" but it always amazes me how the people have been brainwashed inot thinking DOHC = modern and efficient and OHV is considered archane and somehow inferior. IIRC there's been a few people who have built up 1932 Ford flatheads to pump out over 500 horsepower, and that's with less than 4 liters. They've also done things like twin-supercharging with flatheads & made 10,000rpm capable Flatheads. Now as far as a streetable OHV, my brother in law's 383 SBC puts out over 650 horsepower (in his 1967 Camaro) and that's because it is set up to be practical for a daliy driver first and a drag car second.
  14. I've had my share of car problems as well recently. The Super 88 is going on eBay as of tomorrow if I can do up the listing tonight, after that, if all goes as planned I buy my 1959 Buick.
  15. What a great looking little car for an econobox. Just like a lot of people in the USA I have been saying that Opels should be the basis of GMs compact FWD cars in te USA. My rental car back in Slovakia/Austria back in 2001 proved this to me. Great vehicle for a little 4 door hatchback 1.6 liter.
  16. I'm not sure myself, has something to do with being either a snob, moron or a deuchebag!
  17. Burning Rubber
  18. Somewhat goofy. Somethinfg gets lost in the translation. I only like regular MINIs. (I'm talking of the modern BMW based MINIs, I like many of the classic 60s & 70s variants.)
  19. 99% of the time horrific accidents in the snow are caused by & involve FWD & 4x4 cars/trucks. Another reason why I hate FWd and some of the clueless b@$tards who drive them!!!
  20. BUY IT! Asking price is $995, right? Offer him $387.34, a 1966 Massachusetts plate, All the stainless steel wingnuts in your toolbox and a package of Peanut M&Ms for it. Then borrow Song's flat-green house paint & a oversized roller to paint her up.
