  1. Dude, you've never seen a '61 Tempest? Your '67 Razorback is only 1 foot too long to fit in your storage unit at a 90* angle, a 1961 Tempest is AT LEAST two feet shorter thasn the Razorback. Remember that 1962 Oldsmobile F85 wagon at Holland's? Picture the same car but even a few inches shorter than that... Or an inch shorter, whatever. I want one if only to be able to say in the future that I had a cable for a driveshaft in an old Poncho.
  2. I love 99% of Amereican cars from the '50s and '60s, I even like a lot of weird Mopars from the early 60s and I get flack for that... I also think the 59-60 Lincoln hasd some redeming value. But late 50s Fords are just hideous to me. 57-59s especially just don't look attractive to me at all. Those lines are ALL off, not one seems right to me, & then there's the matter of the quality issues, tiny hood that makes access to the engine bay difficult and the horrible mechanicals of these retractable hardtops. My opinion of them has never been high, even as a kid I thought "even in the 1950s a few really ugly cars were made." Then my oppinion of them dropped to an all time low when I looked one over in a restoration shop and the owner who is obsessed wiht these cars told me how even though he's owned several and he has a soft spot for therm they're absolute shitboxes quality wise. And that bathtub in the trunk may be innovative but it must suck to have something important inside of it when the roof gets stuck down. Harsh words for sure, esp. from someone who's second favorite model year for cars EVER is 1932 followed closely by 1959.
  3. S44B has always been quirky, it's too bland these days... although the 9-3 is a delightfuly clean and pure design. Back in the day SAAB was FWD when most were RWD. I say they should be RWD only from now on.
  4. Responding to this thread would not be good for my blood pressure. Jeep should make 4x4s, SUVs, pickups & trucks. NOT CARS! The Compass is less JEEP than a Geo Tracker. Litterally.
  5. I'd LOVE that about a beater... or to restore, or to just stare at in my driveway.
  6. Wow... that's unacceptable for 60K miles!
  7. Typhoon
  8. Camino: Awww-sum. Maybe my old '68 Camaro and your Firehawk will meet up at Carlisle years from now. P.S. I want a '65 Corvair...
  9. He's kidding... he HAS to be kidding. If he's not kidding then it's time to buy a used 2nd gen Aurora & put the silver bullet on blocks for a few decades!
  10. Told you Hondacura is evil.
  11. Oldsmoboi: Great example, I rest my case.
  12. I flipped of a woman in an Acura MDX who blatantly tried to t-bone us, or make it look like she was not going to stop. Dumba$$ did not get the concept of "yield on left turn!"
  13. I like my steak extra-rare but my muscle cars well done. Let's be patient and wait for a well executed Camaro. If I wanted an 72% perfect Camaro I'd buy a Mustang.
  14. Um yeah, not quite. I WISH that was the case. I always try but it's RARE that this works.
  15. Weird... I agree, they need to get a new ad agency. I DO NOT want to go out and buy popcorn after that.
  16. So go find a totalled BMW 750iL in the junkyard. :AH-HA_wink: But truth be told V12s are for poor people, I want to make a SBC based V16 & stuff that into a true "Rat Rod" Cadillac from an Arizona junkyard.
  17. Judas Priest
  18. Great... a "CAMLLE for POOL PEOPLE" The Trabant was the equivelant of a $5 BJ from a AIDS riddled hooker... if you call that good "bang for the buck" then you've never seen, or ridden in one. This will most likely be similar. So they're spending money on developing new materials but this is going to save them money....? Great logic.
  19. Hey XP, you still have the phone # for that crazy lady with a beat up old '78 Volare who thinks it's a '64 Barracuda fastback 4-speed since she wants $9995 for it?
  20. Sexy crossover at a reasonable price... too bad the motor is mopunted sideways & it sends all or the majority of its power to the front wheels.
  21. 2 years ago I would have been surprised... not any more. This past weekend I had 5 awkward driving situations. 2: Toyota Camlly 1. Toyota Priss 1: Honda CRV 1. Ford SUV (not sure either expedition or explorer)
  22. Blleding Heart Liberals will say otherwise about the popular vote.
  23. YellowJ: Read my last post Dude... I'm talking about mainstream America NOT myself. As far as I'm concerned I'd vote for him in a NY min. over Hill666ry Clint999n.
  24. Sure, I don't think that's unrealistic. OR Hown about this quantum leap in logic.... Use the Escalade's BOF tooling to make a lower, slightly lighter BOF car that has the REAL potential to pick up where those 500cu. in. powered, RWD, BOF land yachts left off in the mid 1970s. Used to be a time when luxury cars like Cadillacs, Packards, Lincolns & Duesenbergs were made on frames that resembled a 3 ton truck steel spine than a unibody 1985 Honda Accord cross section that consists of some overlapping pieces of sheetmetal for a suspension "hard point". I swear the more I hear about modern cars the more repulsed I am by them... I want to embrace the new GM, I just hope that logic returns to the engineering departments soon. On a side note it's lookign more and more like the new Supra will be a (pillarless for you smartguys) hardtop, every Japanese spy photo or sketch in the past year or so seems to show this so at least it seems like hardtops, one of the coolest styling trends of the past 100 years, are roaring back with a vengance! So can we see a 2 door hardtop full size Cadillac soon?
  25. "In house" or "at the Toyota Crash Test Fascilities" or "On a computer generated simmulation at Toyota H.Q." What the hell is the differance!?
