  1. Variance: I was a huge fan of the '94 Mustang when it was released. The styling was awsome for the era so even though I'm a Camaro/Firebird guy I really liked the Mustang. The stock GT fell short performance wise to the '94 F-body but at least the Five-Oh 4.9 was a great motor with bullet proof ability. The later Modular 4.6 I've never really liked. That said it's a cheap RWD car with tons of aftermarket & a very easy to work on platform. Parts are available any place you look and the cars have a lot of potential if you're willing to put some work/$ into it. If it was me and I wanted a muscle car from the era I would go for a Firebird/TA but that's just me. I say go for it! --------- NOS: 3800 F-bodys kicking '94-'98 Stang GT's butts? There's truth to that.
  2. That Stream RSZ is one of the best looking Hondas of the past decade. The nose is downright handsome. In no way does that look like a "stretched fit". The Fit is ugly as sin.
  3. WMJ: Educated guess but not even close. Fly is |this| close.
  4. Crank windows or not I bet the price is closer to Electra than any compact American car. I'm not seeing any amount of 60s luxury here and I grew up in Europe.
  5. soooooooo close.
  6. Cool, fast & big. I just want a gently used EXT.
  7. Escalade (esp EXT) FX45 SRX Tahoe
  8. FYI: One of my best friends who lives in Arizona just bought a classic car after months of searching. The car in question is based on a design from 1950 but it's actaully the first year of a second generation of a car that was BASED on that 1950 car. It has a L-head (flathead) inline six motor of 195.6 cubic inches. Name the car manufacturer, model & year.
  9. Yeah... Camaro reincarnated.
  10. DING - DING - DING We have a winner! So now it's a tie between FLY & WMJ.
  11. Wow... 105 HP instead of 103. The horsepower war is upon us.
  12. Did you even get a partial on the plate or vehicle descript?
  13. SOme more stuff coming soon.... I have about 2000 photos from just this summer's car shows thus far. That 1958 Imperial is still one of my favorite cars ever. Gorgeous.
  14. So far FlyBrain has scored one point and everyone else is at zero. Moving right along: Answer the following questions about the movie DUEL. 1. What was the manufacturer of the truck? 2. What was the front bumper on the truck made out of? 3. How many license plates were attached to the front bumper?
  15. Correct. I recently completely dissasembled a 3.1 liter V6 out of a Grand Am and I noticed the firing order stamped into the head and was like WTF? This can't REALLY be the firing order, can it? Imagine some guy spending like 2 weeks flipping through Haynes/Chilton's manuals and eventually buying a $120 factory service manual to figure out the firing order for his car and it's 1-2-3-4-5-6.
  16. Z07...? That's lame as hell. I hope they go with Stingray or Sting Ray.
  17. W.A.C.? Toma-to Tom-Ato I guess. I'm the opposite. At least we can both agree the X-type is junk.
  18. $hit Dude... that sucks. At least you came out okay. Did you have your seat belt on? Post some photos when you get a chance.
  19. That's awsome! This is the GM I know and love... Althought in hindsight I'd love to see the Camaro concept trailer show up at the press event of the next prius even better than this. I've got nothing against the Challenger.
  20. In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions of all diferent forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification, photo matchup & even some true or false. Some questions will be multiple part and others a simple one word answer. At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy. Best of luck to all, I encourage everyone to participate. Now on with the show... ----------- What is the correct firing order on a 1997 Grand Am with the 3.1 liter V6?
  21. I drove an old beat up 1980s Ford F350 once that had the clutch from hell... I'd imagine it was hydraulic but damn it was like the thing reqired more effort to push the clutch in then it did to propell it down the road.
  22. Your Aurora with its plastic nose has just as much if not more plastic & rubber than most 1980s BMWs. Just because it's shaped like an aerodynamic lozenge doesn't mean it's not so. Ever notice how the coolest cars to come out of the UK are pretty much just cars styled in the UK but they have powerplants from the USA or Germany? McLaren F1 = BMW V12 Shelby (AC) Cobra 427 Roadster = Ford 427 dry sump Sunbeam Tiger = Ford 289 power My neighbor's frined's dogwalker's cousin's 1983 Jaguar XJ: Chevy 454 powered.
  23. I like alphabet soup too. [insert Cadillac joke here] They may have sold 2000 NSX in 1991 but that does not mean that 15 years later you should still be selling the same damn car with revised headlights. Can you imagine how nasty the press would be to GM if they were still selling essentially a 1991 Corvette in 2005 but with the C6's headlights? The NSX was cool for about 24 months... now it's just lame. No true car enthusiast is going to get an "exotic" car for $85,000 with a V6... at least Jaguar had forced induction on the XJ220.
  24. It's all relative. I'd crush about 75 "perfect" Jaguars to save one 1987 BMW M6. Jaguar's reputation for craptastic reliability is something you can not ignore. True, today BMW 3-series are a dime a dozen but at least they deliver what they promise in performance & at the end of the day they start & drive. Even people who are obsessed with British cars admit that you have to be a sedomasichist to own them.
