Who the heck said that? I hate all caps... switch up colors, whatever but not ALL CAPS!

In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions of all different forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification, photo match up & even some true or false. Some questions will be multiple part and others a simple one word answer. At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy. Best of luck to all, I encourage everyone to participate. Score so far: Fly: 6 OldsGuy: 2 WMJ: 2 Yellow_Dart: 2 Chevelle7.4L: 1 T.W.T.T. Thread #14 Name these three cars. Manufacturer & Model Year is good enough. If you'd like to elaborate about their interesting specifications feel free... they're pretty unique by any standards.

I think before that it was the Dodge Ram SRT10 right?
-
I thought it was Duesenberg. Pierce Arrows are awsome even if they do look like Frogs with those fender mounted headlights.

Thanks Fly... this thread inspired my new sig!

Impala will go RWD, that's a no brainer. The real question is weather GM will "do the right thing" & designate the long wheelbase Impala the Caprice or Caprice Classic & make it V8 only! That's what should happen of the Cookie Executives and Bean Counters are not running the show any more.

Yes, Olds invented the Assembly Line... Ford just improved on the concept with a moving assembly line.

Exactly... officially the Corolla is the title holder if we count all the different cars that share NOTHING except an emblem. Simply putting the "Corolla" emblem on millions of different cars that are styled differently and are any combination of RWD, FWD AWD, have 2,3,4 or 5 doors, the engines are anything from OHV, OHC & DOHC, natrually aspired, turbo, BOF, uniobody, compact, sub-compact, midsize & ultra compact.... you get the point. A 1939 Beetle and 2002 Mexico Beetle are 99% the same car mechanically and 85% the same car stylistically. A 1979 Corolla & 1989 Corolla (even if they're both US/JDM) share NOTHING. Not styling not mechanicals not a thing.

Brass Era cars are awsome. Someday I want an obscure Brass Era "Roadster" or "Runnabout" that has a one cylinder motor & chain drive and I'll daily drive it just to make people do double takes and go WTF!?!?

Damn you're close. It's not LaSalle... but kind of like LaSalle it is a brand under the umbrella of one of the "big three" that does not exist any more. It did not survive the 1960s. BTW: LaSalle = 4 consonants & 3 vowels.

I think even "Turd", "Poop" & "Crap Redline" are better than alphanumerics these days. Alphanumerics work for one or two companies but if everyone starts using them it gets old & lame REAL quick.

So true. I guess according to my sources my interview went very well so now it's up to fate. If this job does not pan out I'm going after in the automotive field again. I can't do sales at a dealership anymore because of the hours but perhaps some of my many contacts could get me a job on the inside that's 9-5 or what not. Things with Marcia are... well one day at a time.

WMJ & Oldsguy are somewhat close. Oldsguy more than WMJ. :AH-HA_wink: I'll give you a hint: it was the same model year as a particular member's dad's Packard which was mentioned in a couple threads over the past few months. The name has the same exact amount of vowels & consonants in it, an odd number. (i.e. 5, 7, 9)

Jezus Fly... you answer them so quickly that I can't think of them fast enough. How many thread begin & end in the span of eight minutes. On to the next question. I have not even thought of it yet.

Wow... suddenly the Firehawk sale does not seem like a big concern when you have to deal with something this difficult. I wish I had some insight or advice but I do not. I can not say I know how you feel or whatever because I've been lucky enough to not deal with something like that. I'm very sad to hear this as I consider you a good friend. All I can say is I hope things go as well as can be expected given the horrible cinrcumstances. Let us know how you, your Dad & the family are doing from time to time. I'm not very religious but you're in my prayers so to speak.

Thread #12 This particular model year of this car introduced a very iconic & now famous "graphic" that has become a part of popular culture and is known throughout the world. It was the last year for a very legendary high performance variant which featured a very unique hood and the ability to push the car to 130+ mph. Here's some specifications to help you: - Production number: 4802 - Passenger capacity: 4 (including driver) - Weight: 3504lbs. - Bore/Stroke: 4.15/4.21 - Price: $4204

We only have Seasons 1-6 on DVD but me & Marcia are both pretty big Simpsons fans. It's the greatest show since Laurel & Hardy and it was the best animated series with no competition until Family Guy came along. Simpsons will go down in history as the Beatles of cartoons... timeless, instant classic, household name & fused to popular culture like no other show post "I Love Lucy".

I like the sound of the VQ 3.5/4.5 motors... it's different & to my ear sounds futuritic. It's nice to have different in a world of Camry's.

The Centurion.... what a concept. Wow. It's a hardtop, it's a g;ass-roof, it's a bubbletop. The '57 Cadillac E.B. has THE nicest one in the thread. ------ P.S. The Honda S2000's:

They made 547 GNX-es total. Half of them went to the feds & lawn enforcement because of their insane performance #s and sleeper looks. The GNX should not come back as an RPO. The Grand National might come back someday and I hope it does but first we need a Regal coupe/hardtop. I do hope the ZETA Buick hold a few surprizes in store but what they will be who knows. At this point in time I'd love to see a modern Roadmaster Riviera or Boattail Riviera. Everyone here knows how obsessed I am with '59 Buicks (thanks partly to Balthazar) and I'm a fan of retro so.....

Correct WMJ. Pretty much an uglier copycat version of a Buick Century & Chrysler Airflow morphed togeather. THe grille looks like a tumor & the whole nose looks as if it was made from mismatched scrap metal & an oil drum.

GMC: I too hope that the Firebird makes a comeback 5th gen. Camaro style but not IN 5th gen Camaro style. The C6 & XLR plus Sky & Solstice are a great example of how different cars can look even if they're the same basic vehicle. Here's a few Firebird Concepts that I think do a good job of differentiating themselves from the Camaro concept while still being based on the same wheelbase, chassis etc. I love the idea of a (pillarless) hardtop greenhouse on a 2nd gen. style retro Firebird. Originally the 2nd gen. was supposed to have a hardtop greenhouse but some moron bean-counter told management that deleting the rear windows & regulators would save GM $18 per unit. (true story)
