Mercedes E Class Coupe Moves Ahead of Geneva Debut
Sixty8panther replied to Z-06's topic in Mercedes-Benz
Satty: I'm pretty sure I was on-topic... discussing past, presant & possible ideas for future hardtops, it's YOU that seems to a always be on the rag about NOTHING. This is a car forum, I like to discuss CARS. Sorry if that pisses you off. -
New Large Offical 2009.5 G6 Photographs!
Sixty8panther replied to gm4life's topic in Heritage Marques
I agree on the Altima coupe. It's gross... a kind of bastardized version of a Chinese knockoff Infiniti G37 coupe. Nissan does have some decent products, the G37, M45 & FX45 are all cars worthy of praise in the design/styling sense. Exactly. The G8 on the other hand, IS exactly what Pontiac should be. If Pontiac made a pillarless-hardtop coupe G8 just like the one that used to be in DF's sig. (he choped it) then I would be selling off my classic cars to buy it, while asking: Camaro what....? -
GM Rollsout Centennial Corvette Concept at Chicago
Sixty8panther replied to Z-06's topic in Chicago Auto Show (CAS)
I'd much rather have EXACTLY this in production than the bland & watered down C4 & C5. I love the C4 & the C5 even more but their styling is absolutely bread & butter compared to their 40 year old counterparts. -
$8000? I bet that would be enough, in this crapppy economy, to find a nice drivable Pre-war car. No, not a Packard Twin-Six or a Cadillac phaeton, but maybe a solid but dusty & partially incomplete 1936 Buick vicky, or a '37 Pontiac 8 sedan.

I hate foot-pedal P-brakes on modern cars. Somehow, a 45 year old classic GM with rusty/crusty cables can function 99% but often times a 5 or 10 year old gently used GM car from the 1990s can't function at all... I've had terrible luck with modern car's Foot-actuated Parking Brakes. Surprisingly the Mercees' 204,000 and the Suburban's 187,000 miles have not rendered either's foot-p-brake useless. Sorry I can't help, picture REAL blurry. You have Macro mode on your camera?

It does not HAVE to be a wagon. I love the look of the mid-1990s BMW 5-wagons. I think it's be BEST looking wagon since the old school 1950s & 1960s BOPs w/ 455s & vista roofs.... the thing is it seems there's almost no 5-wagons out there for cheap that do not have one MAJOR flaw. Like, for instance a blown trans or severe body damage. The 7-series L is great for the awesome back seat & the I6 would return good MPGs. WIN-WIN.

XP and I became friends when he was a assist. Manager at one of the better local AutoZones and I was alsways coming in with a different car... when I brought by the Datsun one of the guys there (not XP) tried to argue w/ me that it can NOT be RWD, "it's Japanese!" As if the Japanese. invented &/or exclusively built FWD!

I myself hate texting lingo... & the dumbing down of the current generation. That being said even with English as my second language I KNOW and properly use it more than, and I'm DEAD serious about this, 90% of the people I interact with, both blue or white collar. I sometimes, okay, often times goof off, like me & XP's retarded, just for fun referance to our group of friends as the "TIGHT WHIPS car club", and while that may annoy you or whatever your beef is, there are plenty of things that drive me effin insane.... like for instance: People who do not differentiate between: Theirs There's, You're Your, Elusive vs. Allusive vs. Illusive etc. Now go pop-up your collar & chillax. Just cause you miss your 3800-III powered 4th gen. Camaro is no reason to take it out on me! also: I use "Phish" all the time cause I went to High School with a bunch of snobby drugged up retarded silver-spoon-in-mouth poseurs, at one point almost every one of the true "in crowd" sheeple listened to Phish & had the Grateful Deat bumper stickers on their Hondas & Lexuses. I may be very sloppy about my spelling... sorry. I work 10-15 hours a day, and a good amount of time on C&G is a luxury I usually do not have. Still just because I joke around in Ebonics and at times write sloppy does not mean I'm a retard, honestly have you read the average post on the internet these days?

GM Rollsout Centennial Corvette Concept at Chicago

What the hell does that make your FWD, W-body Grand Prix? Hope you paid no more than $500 for it cause even that's $120 too much according to your math. Also, for someone who's so picky and critical of everyone else's cars I think it's funny your member title is Pontiac Custom-S, THAT was the disposable '69 Pontiac that ended up donating its interior and bumpers to the high-$$$ GTOs & GTO Judges... You still manage to amaze me sometimes. -
That '38 GM Cabover witht the redwood 6x2 bumper is making me drool. Thanks for posting this. Some $hit-show defunct gas station about 1/8 of a mile from DF's house has one of those late '60s Subaru MINI-mini-vans. It's quite silly to look at, then you look inside cabin and 'funny' turns to just plain stupid.

Chuck Norris can hear the TV even when it's muted, from three ZIP codes away...

Yeah... I have this gut feeling that's telling me to go with the 735iL. It's perfect for the tow kids, those HUGE baby-carriers take up a lot of room, that's Julie's complaint with the Benz, she's pressed up into the dash, both when she's driving and when we go on long car rides or road-trips cause Amelia's seat & Sofia's booster are both so bulky. Back on point: A nice driving/riding 530i is nothing I'd shy away from but I do beleive that BMW's excell the most with their slant-HEMI 6 motors.

Ummmm.... okay. I'm not sure why you decided to take that one (agreably lame) quote and highlight it as a DON'T. This is a GM forum where we have 18-page long threads making fun of one of our proudest, most beloved brands. How about you go

Moltar: I appreciate the ever-presant friendly digg about my constant purchases of cars ranging from FREE to $3500... I DID have payments once, it was on a five year old (1997 m.y. in 2002) Cadillac, and *GASP* it was financed by myself through a credit union, at 6.75% for five years (60 months) and guess what? It gave me LESS satisfaction (money aside) than the average beater-classic I've been driving over the past few years. You know what? Many people (here on C&G and in the REAL world) fuc*ing WISH they had ZERO car payments going into a nasty economic downturn. I have four cars in my driveway, and not one nut, washer, bolt or ounce of fluid in any of them was bought on DEBT. CA$H on the barrell. That's how I roll, & untill GM builds something that is both affordable AND more desirable than a classic car or truck I can pick up off Craigslist for $700 -to- $3000 I WILL keep on doin how I do. Still, I HAVE admited that even with the B-pillar depression still fresh on my mind & the recent nosedive of an already floundering economy I do at times daydream about buying a 5th Gen. Camaro... even if I had to wait till it was paidoff to eliminate the B-pillar. If there's one NEW car I can both afford and I really do LUST after the Camaro is IT!

True that. Wish I could afford a house within 100 miles of Boston.

Wait... You've never ben pulled over by an angry cop while traveling in reverse, at 40mph down an abandoned set of railroad tracks, while your truck is overheating and you have a couple dozen Nutria's tied to your roof-rack from your most recent hunting trip, while you're high on mushrooms, and there's a couple naked girls in the truck with you...? Amateurs. It's all good. When I snapped my Firebird's shifter cable (it was 100% MY fault) I just locked the trans in Drive, bypassed the neutral-safety switch and drove around like that for a few days, it got OLD real fast. You can't always guarantee that some d!ck will not block you in, or some unexpected driving situation might come up where the lack of reverse might put you in danger. Good luck, there's a good chance Holland's will sell you a giuaranteed used trans for $150, my '68 Camaro's came out of a truck and cost me only $100. Of course it was a far cry from the built-up and properlly set-up TH350 that came with my Camaro's ZZ3-crate motor.

Anyway, the funny thing about this thread's timing is that in the next few weeks I'll be buying Julie a car and the mid-1990s BMW 530i is a strong contender. Ideally I'd like to find her exactly what she wants: a BMW 5-series Kombi, but they're scarce for soe reason. My personal choice for her is a 735iL that's on Craigslist. . . . . And as far as the Aurora & Millenia, NEITHER are being considered, though a late-1990s GP-GTP I might go take a look at is a bit tempting... it's got like $10,000 worth of receipts from just the past couple years. The seller is a mechanic and the car seems to be mint in the mechanical realm.
-
That's not a Chuck Norris Joke, just more deflection. Don't like the thread, think it's useless? No one made you open it or post in it. And of all the members on here who have no place to talk about dumb, mindeless humor, you are the King of that particular transgression.

They way I'd like my Camaro GM will not make it... Top three complaints: 1. Yes, of course I despise the B-pillar 2. I"d want a modern day COPO: biggest motor & manual trans w/ ZERO power options. 3. I still wish it had the '69's fenders & headlights. (that's being REAL picky) But in the real world the cheapest V8/manual tranny model combined with a hardtop conversion would make me happier than a tornado in a trailerpark. And that is a good thing.

I think this car sucks, despite the semi-cool retractable hardtop variant. BUt WHAT exactly is so horrible about that interior... I see NOTHING really wrong with it, now if you wanted to pick appart the old rubbery-plastic 1980s interiors that were the DARK AGES of interior design, I'd understand, but this has a nice spash of chorme, it's well laid out... not perfect but certainly not horrible. It's certainly not that far off from those AUDI & Acura interiors you guys think are God's gift to the automotive world. Even a mediocre interior in a typical 2009 M.Y. car is LIGHTYEARS ahead of my '92 BUick Roadmaster, 1995 Suburban and EVEN MORE SO an early 1990s Dodge Shadow or a mid-1990s Mercury Grand.Mq. Quite right. That's exactly what i think of when I see that horrible, deformed front bumper cover. -
Rape is not funny. Esp. outside of prison, nevermind involving a teenage girl.

Sorry my honesty comes off insulting, but I'd thather have a Hyundai Pony than that thing... it honestly looks like a Chinese attempt at a Corvette or Viper.
