  2. A virtual glass of scotch for a virtual (jpg) boob show. My PM box is waiting.
  3. No one "needs" an SS/SC Cobalt, that's for sure. But I WANT a supercharged one. There's a small part of me that also wants to get the bare bones guy and throw a turbo on it. Brrrrrrrppp - Cssss, Brrrrrrrrrrpppp - Cssss, BRRRRrrrrrrrppPPPPP - Cssss! Unlike most airheads buying Prius, Civic & Escape Hybrids and spending $20,000+ to "save on gas" a beater J-body or an S10 makes sense. That's why I could jusyfy buying the Datsun even thouh at the time it was my 4th car. I bought the Maxima for $300, and then for just an additional $100 or so drove it for about 21,000 miles thus far. Pretty good economics right there!
  4. LSD is standard wiht the SS/SC package, right? I thought it was. I'd love a yellow one wiht the black leather & yellow inserts.
  5. Woah... sounds like I missed something exciting/funny. My PM box is R rated, someone hook me up! Joke for WMJ: You know what those little bumps around a girl's nipple are? It's braile for "suck here"
  6. So that's it? Wow.... that's too bad. On a positive note I love the VW flash ad on that page, not that I'm trying to make light of the bad news. http://www.jalopnik.com/cars/news/black-tu...-mph-165142.php
  7. The STS is only two years old and pretty "fresh", it's the CTS that needs a refresh.
  8. I want to beleive this is true. I hope Ricky can do right and turn the tide. If he "saves" GM single-handedly it will still only make up for canacelling the B-body in 1996, letting the 4th gen. F-body rot and stagnate in the late 90s not to mention still draging his feet about the Zeta program in the late 90s & early 2000s.
  9. SP: here's a new one for ya. That $h!'s off the hook! ...no, litteraly it's on a flatbed they didn't send a wrecker. 76ChevyTrucker: I incorporated the Impala, your truck & a font called "Independance" inot your sig. I've always wanted to own a '76 something just for the sake of having Bicentenial antique plates. Anyway if it';s not to your liking feel free to give me constructive criticism and let me know what I should change.
  10. I've owned a Grand Am. A 1997 sedan with the 3.1 liter. Great car other than the POS aftermarket alarm they instaled half assed by cutting into the wiring harness. Which is why that car got traded inon... you guessed it: a Cobalt. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...wtopic=7121&hl=

  12. It's a GM mucsle car, so you know it will have a few fantastic, ass-kicking pushrod V8s available. IRS is already a given which is good, although I'd like to see a cheapo-live axle setup for us old school guys, but I'm not holding my breath. That does not leave much. MOstly I'll say this: Don;t change a thing. Make the rims a more realistic 18" and produce the interior EXACTLY as is just in a few different color scheemes. Most importantly: listen up GM this is BIG... it HAS to be a hardtop just like the concept. THe B-pillar must not exist beyond a rubber strip of insulation on the rear glass that rolls down wiht the windows. The Camaro is big news for us Hardtop lovers!
  13. Let's discuss this "total package" shall we. Every damn DOHC car this side of 1988 that I've ever driven wiht the exception of the Northstar has had a serious lack of imediate throtle response. The last time I drove a Bimmer it was a 2004 BMW 530i and it was so god damn slugish below 3000rpm it seemed like the car had a HUGE turbo and it was actaully turbo lag. DOHCs are NOT all they're cracked up to be. I've owned a few of both and driven hundres of both and I'll tell you one thing.... 97% of DOHC motors feel like they're lacking in torque and response. One of the more annoying featuires about my Infiniti Q45 is that the motor takes about 2.5 sec. to really start cooking after you give it WOT. If I mash the pedal ot the floor on the Camaro the car is doing a burnout about 0.25sec later. No bull$h!, no waiting, no excuses. Just instant torque. And for what it's worth the car revs to 7000. I've had it to about 7400 on a couple occasions.
  14. Tell that to the guy who just blew the doors off of a DOHC V12 Ferrari with a pushrod 16valve V8.
  15. Three words: RUBBER timing Belt. MUTE: Who told you the Mopar 3.3 was 60 years old?
  16. Yes, right you are. Which is why I'd have to administer myself a self-inflicted ass-kicking. FWD sucks. I'm still of the opinion that FWD was only cool in the 1930s when Coffin-Nose 810s had it. Or maybe perhaps in 1967 when the only FWD cars were the Austin Minis, Razorback Eldorados, Olds Toronadods & Citroens. But damn, this little pocket-rocket is winning races and it's got great styling & quality. Now that the Camaro is a sure thing I'm in a mood to reward Chevrolet with a new car sale and it has to be a FWD car... I can't afford a Z06 and I will not be caught dead in a Malibu or other bland sedan. Not even a two door "Impala MC". I wish that I could order the SS-SC mechanicals with NONE of the power options or rims. COPO Cobalt.
  17. Prague is a gorgeous city... very much the Paris of Eastern Europe. While Prague WAS the capital of CzechoSlovakia now that the contries have separated it's only the capital of the Czech Republic. Slovakia's capitol, Bratislava is equally gorgeous. The mix of the Danube, 20% super modern architecture & 70% ancient monuments, BMW 750is parked next to communist era Eastern German Wartburgs & the one of a kind canter-levered bridge makes it a city you'll never forget. I know I think of it often in fond memories of Gothic, architecture glowing lighs in the cool night air and cobblestone streets. The UFO restaurant on top fo the bridge is a really cool landmark, but the four towers castle is what represents Bratislava to us Slovakians.
  18. Sorry XP... after much delay here's the new batch for you. After all you're the "Original-G" Now get me that CD with the '59 Buicks under snow pictures off your camera!
  19. Okay... this silly artincle aside (read it yesterday when I got my MT in the mail) the Camaro IS the winner in this battle. No questions asked. - LS series motos are far superior to the modular engines Ford's been pushing since the mid 1990s. - Sad, droopy puppy dog face is pathetic compared to Camaro's Shark Mouth. - The Mustang is a 2dr sedan w/ an obnoxiously thick B-pillar, the Camaro is a hardtop! That's grounds right there for a K.O., so long as the Camaro stays "Solstice-close" to concept.
  20. One of the ways I'm counter-acting my brain's ANTI-FWD stance is the justyfication of giving Chevrolet (and by extension GM) a new car sale. A new car is easier to finance and for a better rate plus if I'm not buying new then the factory sees no kickback and in that case I'm not getting a Cobalt. I've narrowed it down to three cars that I'll consider. When I'm finally ready to buy (hopefully in the next two months) there's a 99.9% chance I'm getting oe of the folllowing: - Another 2nd gen. Q45, preferably a 1999-2001. I'm looking into a 99 Q45t right now. they're asking $12,995. - 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham or a Buick Roadmaster Sedan (Steel Roof) - New Cobalt coupe, either a stripped out bare bones one or an SS/SC.
  21. After having seen a few nice Cobalt SS-SCs on the roads as of late and also the two black twins at N.E.D. I want one... if I can afford the extra $120 or so a month payemtn wise I'll consider getting an SS to hold me over till the Camaro arrives in 2009/10.
