What Would Make A Car Run Hot?
What Would Make A Car Run Hot? Internal Combustion. Alright all joking aside, here's a possibility: clogged heater core, radiator or a bad water pump. If the coolant is not circulating throughout the block it's pretty much useless except if you want to boil antifrreeze.

Allow myself to introduce....myself....
Hey Buddy! Welcome to the site, you'll love it here... Dude, I know I rip on you about the Cobra wearing a blue oval and all but seriously.... that $h!'s pretty sweet. I say keep tyhe car. That ride down to Framingham in it this Feb. was a ton of fun. That car is American muscle, it may be DOHC and a little too modern but it's still a nice Fox body. Anything RWD, V8, 5-speed and quick as a jack rabbit is a great ride. Te first car I ever drove past 130mph was a 1996 Cobra just like yours.

CHEVROLET TRUCKS: Like a Rock!
SpeedingPenguin!!! Sup Bro? Nice to see you join C&G. Welcome. Let's talk abotu Saturday... I'd love to go drag race the Q45, or even the Datsun if the new mass airflow is not installed in the Q by then. It's much worse than that 15 sec. video shows. Luckly I'm pretty much okay. Hurting all over but no broken bones or anything like that. Thank god I didn't loose a tooth or wahtever. I'll post some pics . in a minute.

The other zetas
I hope you don't get mad at me for saying this KF but I think the Monte Carlo nameplate needs a hiatus. Right now people think of FWD Nascar-stickered two-door-Impalas/Luminas when they hear MontE Carlo. Perhaps putting the name on the shelf for like 4/5 years would do wonders. After all.... look at how the Camaro enthusiasts have excepted the new Camaro with open arms after the "hiatus" B.S. And yes, I AM implying a modern-retro MC in the style of the Camaro. 1970s is where it's at for the Monte!

CHEVROLET TRUCKS: Like a Rock!
The steering wheel prevented me from going through the windshield, thank god the 33" mudder wheel laying in the back of the truck did not break my neck. I've got some bruises, a semi-sprained knee and I hurt like I got beat up with an aluminum bat, esp my back muscles. I can not effin beleive I did not have my seatbelt on. I'm like the biggest seatbelt advocate, I'm always preaching about them. I NEVER drive my Camaro without the 4-point harness fastened. The truck is far worse off than me, although amazingly enough I drove it home. I've done several demolition derbys, crashed all sorts of vehicles, slammed into a metal light pole in a tiny little Mazda and even been rear ended about eight times Racetrack/Street, 50/50 but never, ever was I less certain that I was going to come out alive. For about 0.75 seconds I thought I'd get ejected and crushed by my own POS truck. Thank God for the Tilt steering column having been set to high. I made this chop just a few hours before the "accident".

Since the GTO, Impala & Buick sedan are already almost certain sister Zetas to the Camaro I voted Chevelle cause that would kick ass.

New GS not so Lexus!
XP just replaced the semi-leaky valve cover gaskets on his 72,000 mile Cutlass Supreme. But that's a 30 year old car as of this August. I replaced the valvecover gaskets on my 1986 Fleetwood Brougham at about 180,000 miles. And that was on a $h!ty Old 307 motor.

Losing Another Pet
Wow, major bummer. I do NOT look forward to going through that with Tony, Mellon & Puma. I talked to my dad on the phone today and other than an upbeat conversation there was a very disturbing piece of news. Their old little blue & white parakeet "Oblac'ik" (Slovakian for "little cloud") who had been limping and doing poorly for about a month was suffering and near death. My dad said he had to "put him to sleep" and started giving me some details I did not want to hear.

Keep or replace?
I know I've mentioned it before but in 2003 I almost traded in a 1986? Cavalier sedan in gold metallic with the four banger. The car looked like most any used car, in very respectable shape... except for he fact that it had 288K miles on the odometer.
