  2. Here's what I consider the top three mot important things I look for in a car. 1. RWD: If it's not RWD then AWD w/ most of the power going to the rear wheels. 2. Manual Transmission: Not a must but very strong preferance! 3. V8 or Inline-6: Short of an exotic motor like a V12 or V16 this is the only way to fly. That's it right there... RWD is most important but the other two I'll compromise on depending on the other redeming qualities of a car. Like a flat-6 Porsche motor would definately NOT turn me off to a 911, but an automatic trans. in a BMW is pretty much a deal killer. So what's the top three things you look for in a car? I left off styling because these days the mechanicals is what I obsess over... styling is only skin deep but it can & does make some cars better than others, it's most often time something that gets me of the fence between two cars. The Q45 won out over a 1996 BMW 528i because the Bimmer looks cheap wiht the crappy base wheels & bumpers.
  3. Tripod: you suck!!!
  4. I have a bad habit of carrying around a lot of junk in my trunk even if I do not need it. This particular occassion there was a baby-stroller, small toolbox full of wrenches & sockets, a box of 1980s car amgazines in the trunk plus all the crap in the back seat. So how's that litle inline-6 motor sound, huh? Screw flowmasters or cherry-bombs.... I'm running NO muffler!

  6. Has my sig. gotten to you?
  7. My next car will almost certainly be a GM, I don't stray far from the general & I'm definately in the mood for a nice B-Body of some sort... even a pre-LT1. Although the once pushrod powered car that I've thinking about a LOT is the CTS-V.

  9. Yes the photos are hot although the chicks are too bony. (not in that sense, I meant too skinny) I dated a goth back in H.S. and ever since have a bit of a fetish for the really pale look, but only certain girls can pull it off. Like OCnblu said it's a cyclical thing... trends change but right now it's considered much more apealing to have a nice healthy tan. I just don't liike either extreme. If you're a white chick get a little sun but don't try to out-tan your friends and end up looking like you were in a gasoline fire. Excessive tanning is gross! Here's a sexy goth chick for your viewing pleasure:
  10. I'm no longer a "blind" fan of GM... I'm a fan of RWD & RW-biased AWD above all else. However, among the classics GMs will always comprise like 90% of my favorites.

  12. Porsche, ironic? Hmmmm.... he was linked to Tatra & Porsche was the creator of the KdF for Hitler and also the rear mounted pancake motor makes me think: Am I getting any closer?
  13. That's exactly what I just said in the first post. I guess the Drifting video was random as well but since that thread revolves around MY personal car it's not as random as just some Google find. Here's another neat photo:

  16. If you spray-bomb the cold air intake with day-glo orange it will add 45 horsepower!
  17. Wild Stab in the dark: Ferdinand Porsche?
  18. I clicked Chevy since I have 8 cars in my driveway and three of them are Chevys. Two are mine, the '68 Camaro and '88 Blazer. That being said there's no Datsun or Infiniti optio on this poll, and NO I will not accept Nissan as a subsitute. I'm goinig to go out and buy a Messerschmitt Kabinenroller just so you have to add it to the poll.
  19. Ford Driver returns on foot. (backwards)
  20. Modify the pedal. Seriously. Just have a friend with a welder move the base plate on the pedal up.. OR, but one of those chunky Ricer pedals that straps on using U-clamps.
  21. Wow... 6.2 sec. I rmemeber growing up as a kid and thinking that someday I'd have a car that broke inot the sixes in 0-60. The in the mid 90s the 4th gen. F-body made 5 seconds 0-60 seeem very obtainable but trucks were still in the 10-14 sec. range. My just traded STS that goes pretty darn fast even for a sport sedan takes 6.4 sec.

  23. This forum is the Bomb-Diggaty. First Variance suggests the Q45 in my thread and single handedly changes my focus in terms of my used-car search. Then XP gets Delta to buy an "Egg" of his own and as I've been mentioning since last fall staring into the angry-all-seeing-eye of Balthazar's Avatar has pushed me over the edge from wannabe '59 Buick owner to not so distant future '59 Buick owner.
  24. MtC Yeah, I saw that it was just Mall security & even if it was a real Nashua cop he/she would still have very little jurisdiction since the Mall is not public property and I was not on a public road. In order for a ticket to be issued I'm pretty sure the ower(s) would have to issue a complaint. Besides, it was harmless, it's not like I was doing the slalom around other cars, it was completely empty in those parkig lots. XP: Not only will the Q45 get treated with a lot more respect than my $300 Datsun but it would be a lot less fun in that car since it's an automatic. Nonetheless someday years from now when it's paid off an just the backup car like the Datsun started out to be I'll have some fun wiht it. Perhaps I'll take it Ice Racing. Only Pu$$ies ice race with FWD... that's like fishing wiht dynamite. NOS: XP's always raggin on my little Datsun. But hey, any car that is fun to drive & goes 19,400 miles for a purchase price of $300 and about $150 additional in maintenace including oil changes is alright in my book! :sign0200:
  25. [mutters_to_self] That smug NOS has to always be such a show-off... I'll fix his wagon! Take the number of cylinders in my Datsun, minus the number of valves per cylinder on LS1 motor times the number of cylinders on the Cien and minus the number of models in Buick's current lineup. In that many days I will have a birthday. And on that day I will turn this old: Take the number of cylinders in two 2002 BMW 540s, plus the number of cylinders in three 1993 Geo Metros.... there you have it.
