  1. Me and Zoomtm exchanged abotu 247 PMs each last night about how his 3800 would smoke my poor little Datsun but get bested by my Camaro.
  2. Z28: Good example of a gorgeous car... just remember that 95% of repairs involving FWD Northstar powered Cadillacs start like this: Step one: Drop down engine cradle & remove motor/trans. Which is why I want Marcia to find a nice GTO, Charger, B-body we can afford and we're never looking back at the Seville. SHe still loves it but I'm fed up with the FWD and non-existant access to anything under the hood wiht the exception of the dipstick.
  3. Tell XP that. Good advice from Razor. I can tell you from personal experience that high milage cars are hit-or-miss. I bought my Fleetwood Brougham with 172K and sold it with almost 186K. Durring the first 11K miles I had great luck wiht the car. Fantastic ownership experience overall.... but after I bought my Datsun I barelly put miles on the Caddy and durring a three month period I lent it to tweo different friends with the understanding taht it leaks/burns a quart of oil every 300 miles of so. They had it borrowed for a few weeks each and brought it back with a bone dry dipstick. The car was never the same and shortly after I sold it wiht a heavy heart. Two lessons learned there. One last IMPORTANT tip: CARFAX. Spend the $20 it's well worth it. The car itself is very nice... three things going for it: 1. Black 2. Coupe 3. S/C Very attractive traits in a GP.
  4. That chick is got, looks like a bit of an Ice Queen though.
  5. If you occasionally had an accident wiht trans fluid/oil/gas on your property and your source of water was from a well (ground water via pump) you'd probably buy Water too. Tyngsboro water tastes a bit funny to begin with but there's enough neighbors like me around where the water must be pretty tainted, sad to say. One of my neighbors is a cool dude... he's a regular Joe like most people, not stuck up or whatever but he owns a small business. He's agot a medium sized house and a 12 car garage filled with a very interesting collection of Chevy Muscle cars. A few first gen Camarois, two early 2nd gen, a few Chevelles and a couple Chevy truks. The only non-Chevy he has is a 50s Ford truck powered by a Chevy BB. Anyway wiht all these cars beign worked on and his business and all plus all the construction above my house (dynamite blasting etc.) I'll gladly pay the $1 a gallon of water. Esp. for Sofia's sake.
  6. Welll, paying $1.5 million for a 1969 Camaro may seem ludicrous, even an all aluminum 427 powered al original COPO ZL1, but in todays age of $3,000,000 Hemi Cudas and $3,000,000 F88 concepts it's pretty tame.
  7. Funny Website. B) http://www.beaudaddy.com/caddies/

  9. Say what you will about the 1980s but know this: 1. RWD was abundant and affordable 2. Imports were still known by most of the public to be the $h!-box tin cans they are 3. We had three Pony cars all selling well and getting better every day 4. A Cadillac was still a Cadillac and a truck was still a TRUCK. 5. BOF was not considered a bad thing for a land-yacht 6. Two doors were available on 80% on GMs lineup. 7. Styling was still somewhat daring and interesting, instead of bland & homoginized.
  10. Never seen a 1973... abrely knew about the later ones. You can pretty much tell this was another Canda only POncho.
  11. The STS will be traded soon for soemthing new-ish (by my standards) like a '96 Fleetwood or a brand new car like a 3.5 Charger. Other than that my fleet now only consists of the '68 and the Datsun. The Volvo is just a demolition derby car so that's not really a part of the fleet. I'd be happy wiht three: Daily driver for me: Datsun, and my classic: '59 Buick & a newish car for Marcia: perhsps a used GTO (I can always hope) If and when we buy a house I might just junk the 240 and or part it out.
  12. Thanks Guys! Fijian: For some reason your link would not work. Variance: Very nice. That Japanese Drifter may not speak english but he knows more about what makes a good car then the entire N.A. Division of Toyota & Honda combined. Great driver. Empowah: Love that British laugh as a soundtrack for high speed manouvers.
  13. KF: I sincerely hope you're not trying to make fun of one of the best made for TV movies of all time! - - - - - - - - - - - - - Okay I'm kidding. I have the 1st season of Knight Rider on DVD and that movie was thrown in as a bonus. KITT as a '57 Chevy is just bizzare. Even more disturbing was the fact that KITTs new body (the RED Banschee looking thing) is FWD. I was traumatized by this as a Kid. It's the automotive equivalent of that nazi execution video on Rotten.com. Sickening, stomach turning, WRONG in every way possible and depressing.
  14. I think it's relisted by the same seller... almost positive. I remember posting this same car in like Oct. or Nov. Damn, I want a real ZL1.
  15. I was not accusing Fly but I did run wiht the Santa joke. Since I was getting a little bored of the interior sig I just decided to make another one.
  16. There is some A&S theme going on here but not quite enough to make Cadillac fans care. I'd rather have all of GM go A&S instead of these jelly-bean 90s rejects like the Luscerne and '06 IMpala.
  17. About 0.04 seconds ago I said to Marcia: Would you consider a GTO to replace the STS with? The verdict: "Yes... as long as getting the baby in and out of the backseat would not break my back." Between the Lupus and her back problems a coupe is very questionable for her daily driver. Sad but true. This is why we have given some thought to a brand new 3.5L Charger.
  18. There's a lot of cool people on C&G... can't name just ONE. Let's just say that I met a few of my favorites already on my last roadtrip in November. Mean time there's a really cool guy in Minnesota I'd love to meet and XP is pretty cool himself, even if he does border on strange at times. I've still got him beat for all out lunacy. Here's a few of my favorites: (I'm sure I'll leave off a couple) - Balthazar: Automotive expert of the highest order & he owns a 1959 Invicta 2dr. - GM1: has the most pimpin' Coffee colored Olds in the universe - WildManJoe: loves the obscure... as do I - XP715: my favorite partner in crime as of late - OCNBLU: Keeps things interesting here... great sense of humor - Black & Blue: All around cool guy! - Camino: Great host, gentleman & a scholar. - Harley Earl: Always makes a good showing in the trivia forum - NOS: Great addition to us Camaro guys on here - Variance: Loves GM and Nissan/Infiniti... cool guy. - FoG: tells it like it is about the scumbags in the media - Nick: yeah he's spoiled w/ his E-something-or-other BMW but still a cool guy! - Josh: the guy drives a Solstice and maintains this crazy virtual wonder - Avanti: thank God Walt started this site, we all should thank him for his many contributions to C&G. & that's just for starters.
  19. looks almost like claymation.
  20. Ask XP about how I am with my Datsun... he hung out w/ me today and we went to Stop & Shop for a few groceries... (mostly to get away for the G/F) I did a pretty irresponsible powerslide arounds the empty side of the parking lot. HE's riden in the Camaro once... though I was pretty tame taht day. Nothing too drastic just some high RPM fun down a dead end street.
  21. New: Charger 3.5 Used: Any 1994-1996 B-body... esp. a Fleetwood
  22. Wonder how many millions Olds lost in 1998, 1999 & 2000.
  23. A modern car that goes 200,000 no problem is not all that special.
  24. With the exception of my Datsun and towards the end of my ownership of the Fleetwood Brougham I run 50/50 premium /midgrade in my POS cars and try to run Sunoco 93 exclusively in my Camaro & STS. It's not just about knock resistance... it's about the better cleaning agents and additives.
  25. Gary Coleman Is Santa Claus?
