  1. Screw Saturn... I could care less what they get. Give us Buick, Chevy & Pontiac guys what the Cadillac guiys have been feasting on as of late wiht the STS & CTS but at a lower price. A RWD coupe, sedan, wagon & ragtop for each division except for Saturn. Let them just be what the Buick Opels were in the 60s.
  2. This chick is in her 20s and on a crotch rocket... how the f@#k does that evne come close to some pedophile takling pictures of my 2 year old? WTF? This chick is wet T-shirt contest material at spring break don;t fu*king compare that t a child. That's not logic. I had just snapped a photo of some dumb riced out clown car and before I put away the camera these two passed me on this superbike so I snapped a photo. So now just because you're bitter abotu me telling you your Solara is just a two door Toyota Camry you say I'm a stalker? Whatever. XP: You know how I am... always have my camera handy and if I see something interesting or funny I snap a photo. Here's some other candid shots I took while driving... none of them resulted in accidents. I'e got 500 others like this. DAmn you've been i the car wiht me before when I've taken a photo of something random. Remember the "GET BNT" vanity plate on the back of a Roim Repair Van? WE joked about it and I said it would be funny if we had a business like that and got "RIM JOB" for a vanity plate? Why don't you guys ask the spy-shot photographers on this site if it's impossible to take a photo while driving? Some of those guys can use a complicated SLR with a zoom lens while doing 80mph.
  3. Alright! That would be awsome. Between the Enclave and this thing the Buick lineup seems to be getting less lame. I stil think the LaCrosse and Lucerne are not the greatest Buicks but hey, tons better than the Camry/Accord & Avalon, among other things. The Lucerne's FWD really dissapointed me, a LOT. Had the Lucerne been RWD it would have made some of the other compromises less noticalble. http://www.motornetnews.com.au/Statesman.front.2005.jpg Let's just hope they differantiate it more from the Holden than they did with the GTO. But hell, as long as it's RWD and has a nice Waterfall Grille I'll be happy!
  4. I'm not a Honda fan but I do think the CRX is a fascinating little bugger... the 240SX is understandably a good choice and I had my Girlfriend's 1992 Mazda MX3 GS for a daily driver for a couple of months after I bought the STS for her. That was an interesting little car. The size of a CRX but wiht a V6. Gotta love it. If only the MX3 GS was RWD it would have been an awsome pocket rocket.
  5. Oldsmoboi: Didn't you hear? It's actualy Blubber oil from Baby Seals, that's why William Ford III is busy clubbing so many of them.
  6. By the time you buy one, get it over to the USA, legalize it and get it registered & Titeled (+ lawyer fees) you'd have spent less money just buying a $50,000 CTS-V. That will eat any Nissan short of a Skyline for lunch, spit it out and ask for seconds while getting better fuel economy. C'mon BV, I know what you're saying in terms of us being closed minded but f@#k, just because they always loose in the HP/$ wars the Japanese & germans always bitch about Handeling and curb weight. Why does everyone think we can't make an American car handle. How many guys have to do up a pro-touring 1969 Camaro or '66 Mustang and kick Rice ass before we get some respect in that dept.? Dude, if the Japanese have so many great cars that can kick American Ass why don't they bring it ot the American LeMans where the Corvette wins 93% of the races. Remember those 1/2 finishes of the two Corvettes at the 24 Hours of LeMans? Yeah the Ferrari team and all those exotics can talk smack about how the Corvette can't handle but in the real world they choke like a fat kid on a chicken bone!
  7. Ocnblu: They're not even air cooled anymore.... I could never buy a Porsche over a Corvette/Z06. Porsche has lost it IMO. I don;t think I could ever buy one new car from Germany that would comst more than a mint condition 1969 Camaro & a nice 1959 Electra 225 Riviera combined. Three years later the Buick & F-body have APPRECIATED while the Porsche is worth 1/2 of what you paid.
  8. 240 HP... but the torgue was like 115 or something ridiculous back in the first gen car. I've driven one several times.. it's got about as much torgue as a Geo Metto 3-cyl. Plenty of horsepower once you rev it past 8000rpm! I think it's an annoying little buzz saw... not my style.
  9. I don;t think the current generation of Malibu was ever a great looking car but it was certainly better looking than the Camry and Accord Sedan. The G6 is a muhc nicer sedan in the styling dept. however.
  10. BV: Balthazar just said CHeck Mate! That V6 Firebird will eat most Corvettes for Lunch, nevermind a Silvia. (spec R or not) Comparing cars that are not sold here is ridiculous. Back in the late 1990s the USA got a 240 horsepower BMW M3 but in Europe they got a 300+ horsepower version. US emissions make quaite a differance. Perhaps we should tweek NOS's Camaro, port & polish the heads and remove the cats while installing 4:11 gears and we'll see what a V6 F-body can really do. Fijian: I got the joke, and understand it was not targeting the S2000 specifically.... but since the annalogies were already flying I joined in. FOr the record if that WAS a Proffesionaly tunned S2000 that car would have already had like $60,000 invester in it while the Camaro looks like it's got like $34,000. For $60,000 like a lot of people spend on a car like the S2000 for drifting or SCCA you could have a C5 Z06 and bitch slap a whole S2000 car clus's woth of Hondas. Rice mods are expensive!
  11. Been there done that. Only happens for really earth shattering reasons. 9/10 of my friends I've lost touch wiht it's been just that. If I got a phone call from them or an email I'd be happy to invite them over to my house ASAP. One of my best friends (Mike) from back in the day that I've known for years is out of touch with me right now but that does not mean we're not friends anymore. This is the kid wiht the two Corrados, first car was a '79 Regal and for years he had a Citation beater. After not hearing from him in a long time he called me up and went: "Do you want an aluminum racing seat wiht a 4 point harness setup?, it's out of a SCCA Rabbit" I'm like that's perfect I wanted something along those lines for the Camaro. He told me to come and get it. He had just bought a VW Golf R32 and had no need to install a racing seat. SO in other words just because we were out of touch did not mean we were no longer friends. Last time I talked to him he had gotten a new job and moved. He told me he was going to be in the area so I told him to stop by. He gave me one of his classic death-rides up and down the backroads of my town and I did the same in the Camaro. With me it's more that I'm out of touch with some friends not that I'm cutting them off.
  12. I'm pretty sure Mazda does not drill for and blend their own oil. OF course you're correct. Tell him to shut up, grab a ratchet with a 15mm socket and get to work instead of making excuses.... the oil he needs can be found at any Autozone or Advanced Auto. Geezus Mazda's 70% Ford these days, not like it's a 1920s Rolls Royce runnig on whale oil.
  13. Ohhh.... don't get mad buddy! :( I love the Monte calander form the last trivia thread. AS a matter of fact my girlfriend's mom comented on how she had 3 gens of M/C (1,2,3) when she saw it Thanksgiving day. :D
  14. I think there's a 70% chance that my 350 crate motor will find its way out fo my Camaro and into the Datsun sometime in the next two years.
  15. Balthy: if you were 40 miles away instead of 400 I'd be there in a flash. Sometime in the spring if I'm heading down there I'll stop by and do some lifting and wrench turning to help you get either one of your projects on the road.
  16. Great read NOS... First year for the Challenger was 1970, not 1969. Although the styling of both the old and new one borrows VERY heavily from the 1969 Camaro. Perhaps that is what you were trying to say?
  17. Bachelor's Degree In Graphic Design with a minor in Management. I spent my first three years at Bradford College in Haverhill Mass. Then the trustees and president of the school had a mini-Enron style scandal and bankrupt our beutiful historic school. Three more years and it would have been 200 years old. The news of the school's demise came within a few months of the Oldsmobile brand phase-out announcement. So I transferred to Suffolk University and finished up my studies there. Suffolk had jus bought New England School of Art & Design so it was perfect. The hectic pace of Boston and crazy schedule was a good wake up call for me. A dose of the real world. Still, I mourn for Bradford College even now. Sad loss indeed. :(
  18. That is indeed very sad. They guy seemed like the type of person who would be invincible. Muscular with a tall frame... not the kind of person you'd ever consider vulnerable at all. This is terrible news, but let's remeber him fondly as the person we all enjoyed interacting wiht when he was still wiht us. My prayers go out to you Biker and to the rest of his friends and family.
  19. Those gross plastic braces plastered across this car's HUGE mouth is enough for me to never buy it in any marketplace.
  20. Retro only works if the model is a "classic". Ever heard of the expression: How can I miss you if you will not leave?
  21. I thought, before I opened this thread, that this was going to be another stab at my corny little Maxima. Poor girl ate a old cracked alternator belt today. I knew it was goign to happen, should have kicked my ass and gotten it dome earlier. Other than that she's running like a champ. (not the Plymouth kind)
  22. Don't worry about a prize for me... the run fo participating is enough. If and when things are not to tight donate a two dollar bill to C&G. :)
  23. 1949 Buick Roadmaster Riviera: Correct 1978 Chrysler New Yorker: Correst The car that claims the honor of being the first hardtop can be found here: http://local.aaca.org/tcor/facts.htm
  24. Lst time I checked thousands of peolpe had sludge problems with thier Toyotas back a few years ago and it got about 0.2 seconds in the news... then it was time to spend 2 minutes takkling about GM's recall of 300,000 cavaliers (insert crappy file photo here) and make a big deal over a slightly malfunctioning HVAC comtrol. The importsget favor wiht the Media and Detroit ususaly gets the shaft. I hope they prove me wrong but I highty DOUBT it. Where's FoG at?
