Really Good Camaro Thread...
a couple of things.....I'm not so sure that weight had a lot to do with 4th gen sales.... .in fact, it could be argued that the 4th gen Fcar was a success....esp. the first couple of years. (add up Firebird and Camaro sales from 1993 thru 1996) Here's a tidbit: Camaro sales from 1967 thru 2002 captured the same percentage to total passenger car market share over the 35 year history. That seems hard to believe....until you look at the passenger car market which was decimated by trucks and SUVs.... ..I think the biggest detriment to the 4th gen was the lack of styling changes......same car for 10 years in a segment where Styling is the number one reason for purchase. (yup....screamed my lungs out to get funding....never happened!) The car, as I said, will be marginally smaller than a Mustang.....but it must be able to accomodate tall people....(ask Stars1010!) As to making money.......don't go there......it is not as simple as you think. Suffice it to say that it will be profitable. Let me ask you this: IF.........the new Camaro could: >be best in class in acceleration >be best in class on a road course and autoX >be best in class in fuel economy >be best in class in driver comfort >be best in class in terms of crashworthiness -- five stars all around........... how important would weight be? Some great points in this thread made by FBF.... THe answer to his last question: IRRELEVANT.

too bad about the elimination of the 2500.

C&G Idol
Not bad Zoom... you might not be a top-20 contestant on Idol but yuo definately would not make it in the gag real as one of the WORST ones. Now if you sang an OZZY OSBOURNE song in that exact voice and dressed up in S&M gear you might make the show.

Bag it or Build it?
Ummmm... the car is a Hardtop... I can see you really payed attention to the photos of it. Nice going. Perhaps this is why you think a Milan interior is nice but this is a "joke". The only joke here is the trunk space complaints about a 2+2 muscle car.

reflections on Brokeback Mountain
For once I have nothing relevant to add at all.... I'm completely speachless. Maybe I should go see this movie. OR maybe I should see that South PArk Episode again.

Chrysler Firepower
The profile is cool and the butt is alright if not original but the face is gross.... too... umm, Japanese dare I say? Or perhaps it just doies not appeal to me because it's too cluttered.

Bag it or Build it?
Who says NO to the Camaro? Perplexing. That car is a win-win scenario in every way possible.

Perfect Riviera on Ebay
That's a crime against the automotive world. Jezzus why do peaople insist on eliminating chrome only to make everything monochromatic.

It's back on Ebay....
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-Chevro...1QQcmdZViewItem I'm a little confused. It did not sell for $800,000 so the guy relists it for $1.5 million? I guess if a retarded Hemi-Cuda ragtop is worht $3,000,000 then this is definately worht half that. Gorgeous car. Perhaps in another life I can own a COPO-ZL1 but not this tie around.

Hybrid Volvo!
Yes I got the Datsun for good fuel economy.... well that was my excust to Marcia. In reality I had three V8 and all automatics. I was bored and needed an excuse to buy another car, manual as the only requirement. There were other reasons/logic but that's the gist of it. But if I can stuff a 377 horsepoer motor into a car that is a blast to drive wiht a little 120HP Inline Six then I'll have a real sleeeper and therefore F*** gas. I can always cut back on one of my other habits to save enough to feed that thirsty motor but the fun to be had with it will be priceless! As far as the Camaro, it's a car I will always love but it's time to move on. I've had my fun wiht her and she needs a restoration more than she needs to keep doing burnouts and get abused at New England Dragway. In order to afford my next Automotive goal.... a 1959 Buick hardtop of some sort, I have to let the Camaro go. I'll miss al the fun times I had in that little hardtop Scum-Rod but all good things must come to an end. Since I can not part wiht it completely the motor is staying in my possesion untill I can shoehorn it into some other poor unsuspecting car.

Fly: You can't go to small claims court to get back "lost time" from dumb iditos who argue about stupid & irrelevant nonsense. Satty: You were less annoying when you were busy making sodomy sigs and stayed away from most relevant threads. To quote Family guy: "You know if you kill yourself now you'll get a full page in the yearbook."

Camaro pics from NAIAS
This is like the muscle car equivelant of a wet T-shirt contest. DAmn this thing is cool. Never get tired of one line.

Spoke w/Chevy Guy at LA Auto Show - Disturbing!
Wow... :rotflmao: I hear the Next Suburban wil be unibody and FWD too, and the next Corvette Z06 wil be powered by a Lexus DOHC V8 of undecided dispacement.

ImportCArs VS. Muscle CArs
AS of late I just don't pay attention but I think I lost a ton of respect for Porsche wiht the overpriced 1st gen Boxter. I don;t care how well it handles or how sophisticated it is.... it I payed $45000 for a car and it get's killed at a green light drag race by a Four door cars Costig $24 then I've got a screw loose. I really miss the genuine sound of Air Cooled Porsches. A water cooled 911 will always be a dissapointment to me... althoght at least the new fascia is a big improvement over the old melted jelly-bean clusters.

C&G Members You've Physically Met...
So true! Last night was pretty funny when we were drifting in the Datsun around a snow covered parking lot and Macria called Renato's cell to bitch me out. Three people i the car is too much. Plus I had 150lbs of tools in the trunk.

Oil Changes?
Just wondering, are you saying Toyota was not at fault for the Sludge SNAFU?

Camaro tops GM's rwd list; Buick Velite concept, P
Screw Saturn... I could care less what they get. Give us Buick, Chevy & Pontiac guys what the Cadillac guiys have been feasting on as of late wiht the STS & CTS but at a lower price. A RWD coupe, sedan, wagon & ragtop for each division except for Saturn. Let them just be what the Buick Opels were in the 60s.

Hot girls that DRIVE GM
This chick is in her 20s and on a crotch rocket... how the f@#k does that evne come close to some pedophile takling pictures of my 2 year old? WTF? This chick is wet T-shirt contest material at spring break don;t fu*king compare that t a child. That's not logic. I had just snapped a photo of some dumb riced out clown car and before I put away the camera these two passed me on this superbike so I snapped a photo. So now just because you're bitter abotu me telling you your Solara is just a two door Toyota Camry you say I'm a stalker? Whatever. XP: You know how I am... always have my camera handy and if I see something interesting or funny I snap a photo. Here's some other candid shots I took while driving... none of them resulted in accidents. I'e got 500 others like this. DAmn you've been i the car wiht me before when I've taken a photo of something random. Remember the "GET BNT" vanity plate on the back of a Roim Repair Van? WE joked about it and I said it would be funny if we had a business like that and got "RIM JOB" for a vanity plate? Why don't you guys ask the spy-shot photographers on this site if it's impossible to take a photo while driving? Some of those guys can use a complicated SLR with a zoom lens while doing 80mph.
