Evil Monkey in Closet!

Anyway moving on.... Family Guy is awome! American Dad is hit or miss and often tries too hard. I love Peter's annoying laugh and retarded brain activity. A local radio station does this whole thing where they'll throw in a Peter quote between songs.... like the one where Peter is talking about how killing Hookers is very uncool since they too are people, people wiht feelings who are willing to pleas you for a nominal fee which you can later negotiate in a sleezy private room. And no one should kill people who are willing to get naked for money. :P

I think the Bonneville is a blah-blah BLAH car and it's Yadda-yadda, yadda Bonneville wiht the racing it did at Bonneville esp with the new Bonneville and the Bonneville tradition Blah blah blabbity-blah. P.S. Bonneville kick ass... esp. Supercharged ones or RWD land yachts.

Pretty cool, a Datsun and a Studebaker make or an interesting racing legacy. B) http://www.ugofadini.com/burklandstory3.html

Yup... same as the Gloria, Cedric and others get rebadged as Datsuns and Infinitis outside of Japan to this day. (M45) But you know what is interesting is they added like 7" to the front clip of my car for the US market so it would accomodate the 2.4 liter I6... since we Ameru-kahns like our extra cubic inches and woudl frown upon a four banger car trying to aspire to be luxurious. :)

Almost forgot: WMJ your sig kicks A$$ as well! :metal:
-
Fly: He-he! :P BV: Love the new sig and the 240 Notchback And as far as Belgium goes I'm going to quote Adam Carolla: " Dear Belgium, thank you for the Waffles, ...now F*** off! "
-
In referance to Fly's sig: Do you think a '61 Caddy would get 30 kilometers to a hecter of Kerosine? :P [/Random simpsons referance]

Yup, definately an uglier & less resolved version of the Bangle styling theme. I actaulyl like the new 5-series a lot but I think this looks like a very lame imitation of it. F+

Cool. Congrats to a fellow Mass resident! :) -
Let's take a poll on maturity Sodomy boy. You know what? %$#@& you! The Caprice Classic is bad car like you're a gentleman. Between your posts about Mullets, white trash, sodomy and constant stereotyping of everyone and everything you are the last one on this board to be talking abuot maturity. You were talking about a good handling car, well there you go, name a car that handles better than one of the winningest manufacturers of sports cars ever. But then again while a 911 is designed to be a LeMans race car the Caprice has a different puropse which by no means involves a tight suspension, stiff ride and Recaro seats. I'm not closed mined I just know what I like and a K-car is not one of them, while a last gen. B-body IS.

That's more tragic than funny but I guess Satty's reaction is no surprise. Consider the source.

Wow, sexy! :puke: And yet still much better than our Echo.

Daewoo wins job to develop GM small cars
Sixty8panther replied to sciguy_0504's topic in General Motors
Awsome! The Crappy legacy of the 80s Chevy Nova (toyota) Pontiac LeMans (Opel/Daewoo) and other underwhelming FWD sub-compacts will now live on as another generation of Daewoo cars rebadged for the US market. Well, on the bright side maye this will allow GM NA to concentrate on building REAL americna cars. Hey Satty: here's your ride right here... I bet a 2200lbs. FWD independant suspension Daewoo will handle like it's on rails! -
What dismal fuel economy... I bet the Japanese had a much lighter tank made of Paper-Matche and bamboo that got tripple that fuel economy.

I'm starting to think the Auto Show might be a great excuse to finally make it out to Deee-troit. I'll regret it for till the end of tie if I miss it but my daughter's Bitrthday is on the 12th. (I've never been to Motor City) :(

Yup... future collector cars. I can just see a GLH going through Barrertt Jackson and Denis Gage getting all aroused as it tops out at $1490, mint. Ground up restoration. Let's take a look on eBay. No cars listed right now but there is a few parts: A turbocharger going for $15.... a complete 39K mile engine and Trans package in great shape for $500 "buy now" starting bid of $100. Yup, real highly sought after. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-1986-D...sspagenameZWDVW http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1985-2-2-Om...sspagenameZWDVW

Not only have I driven every kind of K-car POS they ever made I've driven a kit car "Mercedes Benz 500SL" built on a '88 Lebaron chassis. I worked as a car salesman for years and I've driven practically everything from a Suzuki X90 to a Porsche 911. When I worked at Tucks Trucks GMC I was in the used car/highline building. My desk was always wedged between a couple of sports cars like for instance a slightly used Mercedes 600SL and a Honda S2000. See that red 911 Cabriolet inside the building behind my Camaro? I splapped a dealer plate on that car several times while I was working there and took that baby for a spin, I've burned rubber in the first three gears on that car o back roads of New England. So please, tell me again how I have no idea what I'm talking about. K-cars... give me a break. I've traded in more POS 1980s Mopars on new Chevys and used Pontiacs than I care to remember and none of my customers ever said "I'll miss that old Chrysler". I almost bought a Reliant for $50 for the demolition derby but I think for $100 the Volvo was a much better deal. Fly: for someone who wanted Plymouth to die becasue of a bland and redundant product line it seems pretty insane you would defend the K-car.

5/6 is pretty damn good. There's bound ot be a few hard core Miata fans who prefer the MX5. Just like there's Mustang guys who bought a '98 GT and insisted it was a better car than the Camaro Z28 of the day even though it was outgunned in every way. C'mon 215 HP versus 305.... it's like fishing with dynamite.

Once in a while if there's nothing good on TV and Sofia wants to to watch some cartoons I'll throw in one of our several seasons of the Simpsons on DVD. After having watched the ENTIRE 4th season twice already in the past few months I decided to look at the special features last night... Funny stuff. For some fantasticly hillarious reason they decided to include the Kamp Krusty episode in the bonus features in several interesting languages. The two that caught my eye as interesting were Brazilian Portugese and Japanese. So I'm bored and I decide, why not.... I'll watch Kamp Krusty in Japanese. Just for the sheer hilarity. If for nothing else, Homer saying "Doh" in Japanese is worth it. <<< Now here's the point I wanted to post, and this whole thread was inspired by Ocnblu's "Lexus Dealership Cadillac Tank poster" idea in the tank thread. >>> The sceene where the teacher runs out of the building and says: "Wait, you didn't find out how WWII ended.... WE WON!" I sat up in anticipation and all I could make out was "Amerika waji-jima kaoooo maju" (you get the point) It just really struck a chord with me. Must be kind of weird for someone in Japan watching this who maybe lost their grandfather in WWII or whatever. Interesting how many innoccent and seemingly harmless moments in a show like the this are actaully a real paradigm shift in another culture. I know these days Japan is very pacifist and all but this stil must seem odd to them. Whatever, just food four thoght. I thought it was worht mentioning. :)

Ocnblu: That's a great idea buddy... keep em coming. I might have todl this story already but for the sake of the new members: Just after Sept. 11 in late Oct. 2001 my manager at Bill DeLuca Chevrolet posted an article in the lobby of the dealership. It had a breakdown of how much each manufacturer/ car giant had donatee to the Sept. 11th fund. While GM, Ford & DCX opened their check books and helped out a few foreign manufactureres could not be bothered. Esp. troublesome was the fact that Toyota already a big giant automaker and seller in the USA gave about as much as you'd expect from Corbin Motors or the local Steel Mill. I was pissed already at one particular Toyota Dealership for their disgusting sales tactics so I decided to kick the photocopier into Overdrive. Let's just say by the next morning almost every single car at that Toyota Dealership had a leaflet under it's windshield wiper. Just helping to inform the consumer. :)

Radial engines are properly balanced only with odd numbers of cylinders. Notice the "pushrods". :metal:

Too late the Japanese have seemed to have *cough* borrowed it. Fly: I LIKE the SEAT /// design theme for their fascias, GM did a crapy jo of tryign to do something similar. Whereas the German-Spanish Seat is supposed to look unique and european on a SAturn it just looks like another American car trying too hard.

I've never been a huge fan of the thick c-pillar on the '69 Palah but I think they were trying to make it formal and upright while giving it a Camaro style roofline. I agree that the '69 isn't the best Impala of all time but it beats the crap out of the 2006, or any Chevy mid/full size car since 1996. You want to talk about a DARK time for Chevy how about M.Y. '97-'99 when THIS pile was the TOP-of-the-line Chevrolet. What a sad freekin day for General Motors. Getting back to the topic at hand I actaully prefer the '69 as a 4-door, so long as it's a hardtop. :) Check out the plate on the Blue one.
