Yes!!!! It's mean to be. I mean how much cooler can you get? A scary looking beaten and weatehred pre-war COE pickup with a gorgeous 1959 Invicta Hardtop 2dr mild-pro-street in tow. If I ever saw that on the highway I'd just about die on the spot from sensory overload. I'm not a ford guy but damn that's a ford I'd love to have! Man not only were you one of the three people to helped to persuade me of my impending 1959 Buick ownership but now I'm into COEs thanks to you and Ross.

Hope it kicks ass, it would look menacing and sleek if the banner logo was not splattered over the fascia. Eh, necessary evil.
-
I know a few people who have enough money to do that and say why not? If I had the money I'd buy one of those new BM '69 Camaros for $427,000 and go race it in the Eurpopean Gumball Rally.

Let's not buddy.... how about putting Astro emblems on a Scion xB?

Siegen: Some people need 4 doors. The 350z would be more comparable with the GTO. Not that I like the 350z. Maybe I shuld have specified G35 Coupe. I think the sedan looks chubby and dorky while the coupe looks like a million bucks! Siegen: Again, some people need 4 doors, or want something bigger. The Solstice's main competition is the Mazda Miata Mx-5, not the RX8. The Corvette is a nice car, but a much less expensive Mitsubishi Evolution MR will do just about anything it does, and a lot more. The EVO8 is a great perfornace car but it's stil based on a POS crapbox that just reeks of "Civic-wannabe-syndrome" the AWD-Trubo-4-banger-Sedan I would actually consider is the WRX/STi. With its RW-biased AWD system and much better styling/quality makes it a winner in my book. That being said the WRX & EvoXiii are both in the over $30K category, I'd rather buy a new GTO or a slightly used CTS-V and never worry about expensive & frequent turbocharger issues. Siegen: When compared to what? ANYTHING. Sequoia, Land Rover/Range Rover, Expedition, Commander & all the other full size SUVs on the market. Every single one. Even the soon to be phazed out current models are fantastic products. Maybe the interiors are not the best but I don't give a rat's ass about interior fit and finish when it's time to tow a 4000lbs Cadillac on a 800lbs. trailer. or I need to get the hell out of 18" of mud. I'd never buy a full size SUV to drive aroudn town.... get a full size car or wagon if you're just driving Miss Daisy, if I buy a truck even if it's a $60,000 Escalade that bastard will be up to it's rocker panels in mud and drit at least twice a month. It's a truck. Trucks are made for utility not to have IRS and sissy car like handeling. The Suburban, Yukon, Escalade EXT and their cousins are by far the best Fullsize SUVs on the market today. Siegen: Again, that magic number 8. It seems like a lot of people are fixated on that number. Anything less is weak, anything more is exotic. 8 cylinders is the only way to be american! With the exception of a 1987 BMW M3 I've never heard someone get that gleam in their eye talking about thier "SWEET four cylinder". WTF would I ever have the desire to own anything other than a V8 when a GTO w/ a six speed and it's LS1/2/6/7 powered cousins get amazing small-V6 style fuel economy on the highway while providing low maintenance, amazing durability and big-block torque? V8 are awsome, they're not a requirement or a muct but why aim low? Somewhere in the country right now a retard with more money than brains just spent the equivelant of a brand new GTO on a V6 powered Lexus and he's all proud. Way to go Einstein, that FWD ES Lexus is SOOOO much more car right? When it comes to cars there's plenty that deliver good power form nice V6 or inline sixes but unless it's a Mini or an SRT4 a four cylinder is not appealing to me at ALL. I'll take a 3800SC Park Ave ultra or Bonneville SSEi over any Acura with a four banger. But since I was talking about TRUCKS and V8s I'll say this much: when it comes to full size pickups a nice torquey V8 is a must, anything less and you're might as well be a soccer mom driving Sienna. Like I said Trucks are abuot utility not fuel economy or saving the environment.

I love it actually, truth in advertising. :AH-HA_wink: All joking aside if you get yerself a RWD Nissan of any kind instead of a Honda I'll have tremendous respect for you. I LOVE my Datsun but a 240 notchback is much more handsome! You might remember hearing about thew guyin Autozone I meantioned who's 200SX got stolen... as it turns out it got stolen about 4 miles away form where he works, across the river in downtown Lowell, and it was foiund by the cops (sound system missing) about 1/8th of a mile from the Autozone he works at, right behind Hannaford's Supermarket. The car was waorhtless for him without the stereo since it's more rotted than a pear that's been in the hot sun for three days. The cops want $220 from him for their recovery/impound fee. He's like yeah, why don't you just keep it. Well long story short he's buying his uncle's gently used mid-90s 240Z. The only thing is it's an automatic. Lucky for him he's prepared since he was planning on buying that car for a while. The same day I went in for the "$50-all-you-can-carry special he carried a manual trans & hardware out of there. Not bad for $50. So he's going to leave the slushbox through the winter and then do a manual conversion in the spring.

I don't get it... are you dpressed because the Grand Am is still in a coma & I just reminded you of it? -
If I ever buy a Roadmaster I'll make custom RoadMonster emblems for it... I've already got the Custom "Panther" script (hand cut) on my Camaro and some silly dumb ricer stuff on the Datsun.

My automotive preferances used to be as follows; in order of importance 1. GM Muscle Cars from the late 1960s (a few non-GM ones mixed in) 2. GM land yachts from the mid-60s to the early 80s 3. GM land yachts from the late 50s to mid-60s. Everything else was #4 and down. These days however I've realized that #3 and #1 have switched places.... I still love Camaros, Firebirds, Chevelles, Grand Nationals, GTOs, GSXs and 442s but I'm really drawn to only two vehicles: either a 1960s Cadillac Hardtop or a 1959 Buick hardtop. I've had my fun with the Camaro, I've had my fill of drag racing and neck snapping acceleration, and I know I'll come back around to that again. Three or five or seven years for now I'll be looking for a '70 Trans Am or a '69 Camaro, but right now I've decided to go a completely different route. With my budget there's no where else to go wiht the Camaro. I've run 13.9 w/ the Camaro on junkyard tires w/ an open rear end, I got my car featured on the American Muscle Car Website, I had not one but TWO photos of the car published in Car Craft magazine doing a wolrd class smokeshow.... It's been everything I ever wanted. New, used or classic having an extra car these days as an enthusiast is expensive... maintenance, insurance and repairs are a lot of money, not to mention the money-sucking-black-hole a restoration turns into. So if I'm going to spend thousands to restore a car I'd rather it be smoething more unique and less predictable than a 1968 Camaro. To me fins are where it's at, the ultimate styling element. Fins and hardtop greenhouses are the way to go. I'm all about those two features in my next car. And for Croc's benefit I'm refering to the real definition of a hardtop: pillarless 2 or 4 door car with a fixed roof, not some cheesy sports car wiht a retractable hard roof. With any luck I'll be driving a 1959 Buick by summer of 2006. B)

In Slovakian it meant only one thing: Station Wagon, weather 3 or 5 door.

Fly: That salesman you're referring to is still a lot more of a gentleman than the typical Honda/Toyota/VW salesman I've run into. Arrogance is an understatement.
-
Are you just not into professional cars at all or it it just the vintage you're not into?
-
13. TRC: Please do not say that.... look at these photos before you pass judgement. These cars were built wiht RR/Bentley levels of craftsmanship by hand. They're beutiful. If I ever find one, even if its rotted up to the Roof I'm buying it and dragging it home. If nothing else I'll find a superb custom fabricator and give it to him for free with the promisse of the car being back on the raod someday.

"Stuff like hauling dirt, your toys (dirt bikes an such), or Towing stuff" ALL the way.... otherwise you shouldn't be buying a truck. Why buy a Corvette if you never take it past 55mph or 0.25 throttle? Balthazar: Man I love that COE of yours, just seeing that "in the steel" as you say made the trip to N.J. worhtwhile! :)

Good point, but who cares... I mean I'd rather have a second car to LOOK at for 12 years while I just stare at it sitting in my driveway but have it be so cool that it makes a brand new Lexus or Acura look like a pile of dogturd. There's been a few months here and there when my Camaro sat around on a patch of dead grass while I saved up money for broken crap. (trans, MSD box & rear end for instance) I'm actually giving serious thought to trading my '68 Camaro minus engine straight up for a non-running, 1961 Cadillac Fleetwood in black that has been sitting since 1983. It's unofficially for sale, when I asked about it they told me that they would sell it ot the right person and since I'm a classic car nut I qualify. I already told Ross I'd love to just have it for a Lawn ornament. It's all there but has not run in a long time. I'm so freekin crazy about the styling of that car I openly told the G/F I'd rather own THAT Caddy and just never have it move versus 99% of brand new cars with a warranty. That's a great reason to drive a POS butt ugly Datsun right there... Yeah, I'd driving a twenty year old Datsun with 144,000 miles, but it's okay don't feel bad I've got a 1961 Cadillac Fleetwoood in my driveway and in another 20 years it will be back on the road.

Thank You Sir. :)

The intoxicating smell of pine is worht the hassle. :) Kind of like Wooden Veal.

WOW!!! Cool, I've always wondered what an Echo based E100 would look like. :P
-
Ohhhh... thought of one today while driving the '79 Caddy. 16. How much money/time/effort would it take to sawzall off the B-pillars in a Park Ave Ultra, strenghthen the door posts and fabricate pillarless style hardtop windows (w/ the chrome trim) and weathersripping so that Icould go cruising in a 2005 Buick HARDTOP?

Variance: very cool!!! Camino would approve!

That sounds cool... like on the bumper? Maybe I'll do that as well if you don't mind me ripping off your idea? :D
