Home Sweet Home
Dec. 2004 My Fleetwood Brougham in front of the house and Marcia's Grandmother's 1999 STS on the lawn. I had just changed her oil (Mobil 1 of course). I sold her that Caddy when I was working at Chevy of Lowell and a guy traded the STS in on a Blue 2003 Z06. HSe was just about to go out and buy a 2004 Grand Marquis but Marica convinced her to buy this 59K mile Caddy instead since it was almost the exact same amount of money. She loves it. Always wanted a Cadillac all her life. You only live once right? :)

Home Sweet Home
Some of you will remember this shot of my house from this past February... under like 2 feet of snow. I'm just renting this place till I get a house with the G/F. not the greatest place but at the same time I can keep six, seven or more cars in my yard cause i have like an acre to my disposal. :) Poor Camaro in the back yard... don't worry poor girl a complete restoration is coming soon. Can you find the BOF Cadillac in this picture? Look closely.

The Thread for Crash Test Pics
All these photos that are being posted are NOT apples to apples comparison. Obviously the diferent setups (factors) like speed, size/mass/shape/ of the wall or barrier and how much "give" is built into it will make for different results.

Strongest GM Brands
Voted Buick after sitting there for lilke 45 sec. thinking about it. Pontiac is a very close runner up but Buick s worldwide presance and fame in China gives it and edge.

Moonroof or Sunroof?
Love the sig BTW Toni, I keep meaning to comment on it. :P esp this: 4. It's not biodegradable like a Lexus!"

Moonroof or Sunroof?
"An electric sunroof will have the facility to be closed manually if the motor or control circuitry fails." I hope this is true for all cars... I know it is for a few German ones but my STS seems to leave you SOL if the motor breaks... it has gotten stuck before but only momentarily. If the motor ever shits the bed I hop it can be closed manualy.

Ladys & Gentleman....
Mustang84: Yes, it's a four banger... see how the rest of the shitboxes are Tempos, J-cars, Hondas, K-cars and such. TRC: It is a classic but it's an '83 car wiht electronic fuel injection.... pretty impresive. maybe 89 horsepower is right but it's got bags of torque. Empowah: Lots of t-boning and no rollcage required. Last year a guy in a civic rear ended another car in front of him and plowed under the car wiht his little Honda... the rear right tire of the car on top of him came in and pinned the driver's head (helmet) in the honda... stupid bastard had neglected to close up the hole from the sunroof. No one has gotten killed in amny years but every year there's like a half dozen close calls.

Awsome, thanks for sharing! :) Gota love the SBC, what else can even come close for durability, availability and cheap power upgraded while delivering reliable transportation.

Moonroof or Sunroof?
I know for a fact that a few cars even in the 80s came with "sunroofs" that opened. My dad told me as a kid the differance was that the moonroof was a lot bigger... but I'm sure that's probably just his preception on the term from advertising.

5th Gen Will be at NAIAS 2006
I live in Mass. some of us in this Socialist state actauly DIDN'T vote for Ted Kennedy believe it or not. It's a famous line I've read not only locally but in magazines like Newsweek & Time, so yes people do crack jookes along those lines... And FYI: I bring up Ted Kennedy a lot less often than you bring up how you hate old school BOF vehicles (esp. Panther cars) and how old people drive them in Florida and clog up your roads. Nothing wrong wiht a little local humor. :)

Moonroof or Sunroof?
I don't see that much of a differance.

Moonroof or Sunroof?
My STS has a sunroof/moonroof (the differance is just a marketing term right) that retracts inside the car adn the roofline is damn low already. Personally these days I'm very much over the novelty of sunroofs. I've only owned one vehicle wiht T-tops (my Firebird) but those are still wicked cool. The sunroof thing is more compromise than it's worth in most cases. When you own a lot of high milage cars sunroofs tend to give you some trouble occasionaly. Although to be fair my T-tops leaked a bit in my Firebird but I've never seen a leaky sunroof except for a Toyota Paseo at the dealership. Leaked like a damn faucet, and it was a factory roof before you start defending Toyota.

Do you spend to much time at C&G?
"I Need Help. I Devote my Whole life to this site & My Wife/Girlfreind thinks I spend to much time here." Exactly. That's me right there. I voted "Need Help" but that's a true description of me. Although I'm absent for a week or so sometimes when we get a shittload of work for the most part I spend like an hour a day on the net minimum... most of it is on C&G. :)

Ladys & Gentleman....
Stop bashing 1980s Volvos... they're unibody so they MUST automatically handle like a POrsche 911 remember? :P My 240 is Fuel injected, I had thought that was not yet the case in 83... it goes well enough for a '83 four-banger-something. The race is about surviving 100 laps not speed. Speed is important too but dodging suicidal crazies in '89 Mustangs and '92 Corsicas

5th Gen Will be at NAIAS 2006
they design it in clay first silly.... just because he's a new member does not mean he has to be lying. Like they say even Ted Kennedy has has a valid point about once a decade.

Ladys & Gentleman....
Ocnblu: You never fail to make me laugh. :) For the 0.03% of you who give a crap here's a photo of the car whe it was completed: I ended up doing it up like the Escort with Shark Teeth & "Slovakian Terror" on the side. Ironicaly enought the car's demise was rear ending a *you guessed it* 1980s Volvo 240 sedan and busting open the trans cooler behind the front bumper. I ran out of Trans fluid after a while and poured in oil, PS fluid, brake fluid... anything that I had in the back of the Blazer that could "work" as trans. fluid. After the trans crapped out completely it light on fire and I ended up being the last red flag of the night... I was only one of like 25 cars left but had only completed like 20 laps.... every few minutes it was back to the pits for more "trans" fluid or substitute. The engine/trans fire was cool though, the crowd loved it.... and after the race the car started up again. Left it there to be crushed, only problem wiht it was the blown trans. :(

This is the Mazda powered 1990 Ford Probe that I demolished in 2003. Sometimes getting the car ready is almost as much fun and as stressful as the race itself.
