Next Viper Going To Be Less Rough

The Dodge Viper is undergoing it’s final stretch of development time before being launched sometime in 2012. During the past year, Dodge has been releasing little bits of information about the next Viper.

Now, a little more information has come out about the next Viper. Automotive News spoke with Dodge boss Reid Bigland at the Los Angeles auto show this week. Bigland said the redesigned Viper "will appeal to a broader segment of the market."

"It was a little crude in the past, and to a certain extent that was its appeal because you really needed to have your wits about you when you got behind the wheel to keep that thing on the road. And that thrill of driving a Viper was kind of unlike any other. I think it still will be a thrilling ride with respect to the new one but offer a few more creature comforts that people come to expect in a high-performance vehicle today," Bigland said.

If this worries any Viper fans, Bigland says don’t worry,

"Those who were attracted to the Viper in the past will certainly be attracted to this new Viper. Guaranteed!"

    • I understand what you are saying, yet so many people pay 300 to 500 for a laptop that has bare minimal hardware and then a couple years later they are having to look for another laptop. This is one that should last a good 10 years for people. My dad always told me that saving up to buy a quality product over the instant gratification of something new that can last a good long time is important and I have lived by that. It pays off in the long run. If you can find your installation media, always good to export bookmarks and data files you want to save onto a USB drive and then do a clean install. It is amazing how well the computer will run even after going through all the updates again if windows based. Other thing is save your data and bookmarks and install Rocky Linux or FreeBSD and learn a bit about the Linux side and have a lean running computer.
    • I do really need a new laptop (or somebody to clear it and start fresh), but I don't use it enough to justify anything close to this price.
    • So my sister needs a new laptop and asked if I could use my employee discount to get her a good deal. I was more than happy to help, but after looking at the Dell Web Site and what Costco has coming up, it is clearly better to buy via Costco for the actual laptop. So here is the cost via dell.com Here is the same laptop currently at Costco or via their website. Here is the upcoming November 28th Holiday Sale by Costco. I did notice that Costco has raised the Warehouse Price, but the discount still saves an additional $150 dollars.
