Thanks to the folks at FordSTNation.com, we know now what the starting price of the 2013 Ford Focus ST will be. $23,700 (excluding the $795 destination charge) will get you into a 247 HP hot hatch according to a leaked spec sheet.

The pricetag undercuts the four-door GTI by a $100 and the Mazdaspeed3 by $300.

The spec sheet also reveals two equipment groups adding on an additional $2,505 and $4,840. A fully loaded ST will cost around $29,000.

WOW a $29K Focus just seems wrong. I thought this was their econo box car. Prices seemed to have really moved north.

This is their performance version. The Electric version is about $10k higher.

at least ford is letting you get it in base form for under 24. and THAT is a bargain. add the recaros and stuff and moonroof and i still think its not terribly out there.

So I guess their Feista is their new Teen Eco box car then. Wonder if we will see a new sub sub eco box under the Fiesta this coming auto show season as a concept for 2015?

They already have the Ka below the Fiesta in Europe, though I've never seen any rumors about it coming to the US. The Ka is 3dr only, maybe the next gen will have a 5dr to compete w/ the Spark.

I am surprised that Ford has not choosen to do a Fiat 500 type competitor or a spark competitor for the US.

I suspect they will sooner or later. Interestingly, the current Ka is based on the Fiat 500.

Just because it hasn't been announced, doesn't mean it hasn't been decided. "One Ford" remember?

Seems pricey for a Focus, but all cars seem pricey now. And at least this one has 247 hp, so on power to dollars it is a decent deal.

Meh...the basic focus platform seems to leave a lot to be desired. Drives well, but the A pilalrs are intrusive and the dash is just godawful in the new Focus.

    I'll pass....

GTI or FR-S...or BR-Z...for me, please!
