    March 2, 2012

It’s almost hard to believe the third-generation Ford Super Duty pickup is about to celebrate its third birthday. And in the automotive world, that’s about the time most models have their mid-life crisis and order up a serving of light to heavy plastic surgery. The Super Duty, as Ford revealed late yesterday night with the sole teaser image they released, will be no exception.

There aren’t many details you can make out from behind the big ol’ bedsheet Ford thrown over top of the truck to conceal its new look, but if you squint really hard you can tell it’s definitely sporting a different grille than the current model. Ford also say they’re going to be adding a new model to the Super Duty family, to be unveiled with some help by their friends over at Professional Bull Riders.

The 2013 Super Duty is slated for a full reveal on March 9th — that is, if the internet doesn’t get around to it before then. We'll make sure to keep you updated.

Over at PickupTrucks.com, some of the posters have seen (and you can too at their larger pictures) the preforated grille bars, a'la Ford Explorer:

Many are speculating that this is a Platinum edition Super Duty model similar to the GMC HD 2500/3500 Denali package, a Ram 2500/3500 Longhorn edition competitor of the Ford Super Duty (in relation to the mentioned Professional Bul Riders association), or a Ram Power Wagon competitior (also in the veins of the GMC Sierra HD All Terrain concept from last year), since the Raptor is in a different segment than the Power Wagon or the HD All Terrain concept.

On February 25 this was news on PickupTrucks.com: Spied! 2013 Super Duty With New Grille (click on the link to read the article and see the picture)

I believe that this "new" Ford Super Suty, as they like to call them new when there's just a grille change (the body of the SD trucks has remained the same since 1999), is nothing more than a new grille, some new aero treatments (as mentioned in the linked article), and a new upper level trim package.

Move along people, there's nothing to see here... :truck:

Wake me up when they bring back the 7.3L PSD. In the meantime, someone near me is selling a V10 powered '99 F250 crew cab for the price of a nice bedroom set. My wife is hinting that she would like a bedroom set. So I'm going to go check out the truck and price some lumber and hardware and tools and make my own. Winning?!!
