Honda Issues Recall For 871,000 SUVs and Minivans Due To Rolling Away Fears

Just had 3 recalls fixed on the CR-V... fairly big stuff too. Window switches that could melt, headlight switches that would fail spontaneously and you'd lose low-beams, and shrapnel in the airbag.

Supposedly, reliability, quality, and durability were the reasons for buying a soulless Honda.....so why do we still have this car?

Sounds like a New GMC Terrain or Equinox would be a better fit to replace that Soulless CRV or better yet, get the Encore for you and your partner to drive. That would be a fun little Number.

I'm planning on an Encore unless the Terrain and 'Nox are downsized a bit. He wouldn't drive them the few times they've graced our driveway.

Sounds Exciting, I think the Encore is going to be a big seller for Buick and for those that need it in AWD form, it will rock just fine with the Turbo engine.

All the ones on Accord platform are being recalled. I wonder when the design was done, the company overlooked the chances of failure.

The amount of component sharing at Honda is well hidden. When our CR-V had to have the A/C system replaced, I found out that every model Honda of that year shares over 90% of the system. Honda was fighting having to do a recall and got taken to class action due to the self destructive nature of the A/C system (if one fragile component breaks it take the entire system with it). I wouldn't be surprised if we hear about another recall in a few months for other Accord platform models that haven't yet been recalled.
