Kia America has released pricing for the 2022 EV6 model by trim level.

Back in May 2021, we covered the details that KIA released around their first BEV for the U.S. marketplace. At that time KIA did not release pricing.

Now we have actual pricing that shows the KIA EV6 will start at $33,400 factoring in the available federal tax credit of $7,500. KIA also stated the following:

    • Available in Light, Wind and Sporty GT-Line trim configurations
    • State-of-the-art 77.4kWh high-density lithium-ion battery allows up to a 310-mile range
    • Innovative Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function turns EV6 into a mobile power source for the world around it

Excluding the $1,215 dollar destination charge, the EV6 has the following trim levels:

    • EV6 Light RWD - $40,900
    • EV6 Wind RWD - $47,000
    • EV6 Wind Dual Motor e-AWD - $50,900
    • EV6 GT-Line RWD - $51,200

Depending on model you get one of two battery packs58.0kWh or 77.4kWh battery pack and performance up to 320 horsepower with an EPA rated all-electric range up to 310 miles depending on configuration. The battery pack to trim level is as follows:

    • RWD - 58.0kWh battery with a 168kW rear motor yields 167 horsepower and an AER (all-electric range) of 232-miles (Light RWD)
    • RWD - 77.4kWh battery with 168kW rear motor yields 225 horsepower and an AER of 310-miles (Wind RWD, GT-Line RWD)
    • Dual Motor e-AWD - 77.4kWh battery with a 74kW front motor and a 165kW rear motor yields 320 horsepower and AER of 274-miles (Wind AWD, GT-Line AWD)

The EV6 might also qualify for various state incentives, including single rider carpool lane access in California, check your state for any addition incentives such as an example in Washington state where no sales tax is paid on the sales price up to $45,000.

EV6 is expected to start arriving at KIA dealerships in various trim levels in the upcoming weeks of February 2022.

Priced similar to a Ford Mustang Mach-E or VW iD4, but those don't sell too well, so I don't think this K - backwards N vehicle will do any better.  $51k for the 225 hp, rear drive GT line, that is more than an all wheel drive BMW X3 or Mercedes GLC300, each of which have more power and aren't a Kia.

Where is Mercedes-Benz, The Best or Nothing is NOTHING right now in the BEV market and you know this. Mach-e is out selling the Vaporware MB BEV lineup.

Save $300 and get the 320hp AWD model.

They are selling the most luxurious, highest tech EV available.  And plenty more coming.  Plus the EQS isn't double the price of an S-class, like how the EV6 is double the price of a Sportage of which is of similar size.

    • That is certainly your opinion but I stand by it. That thing is hideous and just looking at the profile of the two, the $650K Ferrari looks way too similar to a $40K Toyota. That is not a Ferrari. That is a $650K bar of soap with wheels.    You are right about the rest of it though. Just a whole lot of “meh” for that kind of coin.  If it had a different logo attached to it, then it might look okay. However, if no one told us this was a Ferrari, we would never have guessed it was. That is my point here. Nothing about it says Ferrari and it looks very stale and boring for the price point.
    • Oh that is just plain silly that they'd have the same vehicle but some trims do and do not have CarPlay. I'm also in the same boat in not wanting a base model of pretty much anything. I dig the Lyriq (even though the name is horrible), but they're too pricey around me still. The cheaper ones are 40-42k and I just can't justify spending that.
    • The front 2/3 of the car are attractive enough.  I don't know much else about it.
    • I would not get a Super.  Find one with the normally aspirated 3800 V6.  Toward its final year, they may have gone to a Chevy sourced 3900 or 3500 V6.  I guess those are ok if lower mileage, but the Buick 3800 V6 tends to be stellar. I just saw this or would have responded earlier.
    • @crvette_guy - I just thought of one if you really wanted a northstar and a larger sedan. You could get the final generation of Cadilac STS.  The first gen CTS-V would work also, but they're harder to find cheap while also being in good shape.  Still, the first-gen CTS-V is just a standard GM 5.7 or 6.0 liter and dead reliable. You can get it with a manual also.  It might be worth spending a little more to go this route instead of going with a cheaper Northstar powered car in the long run.
