This car was very rare and is considered a big $$ classic.

Production was limited to four digits & the car was pretty

pricey back when it was new although it was made by a

brand known for value & frugality.

Looking back on it, Plymouth really didn't design many good-looking cars. The Fury was one of the few that weren't tepid, anonymous, or horrendously ugly.

I wholeheartedly disagree, but then again I think that 1st gen.

FWD-G-body Oldsmobiles look like the Japanese versions of

the '96 Ford Taurus except with Trans Am tail lights. :P

Your first statement would make sense if you realize what year cars were made in.

And anyway, like I said, you've got a range of maybe half a decade there. Those were some great looking cars, but out of the entire period of 1955-1965, there were maybe a handful of really doofy ones, notably the '57 Hudsons, '58-60 Lincolns, and the early 60s Plymouths. In fact, I'd say that last Plymouth convertible you posted shows signs of losing it with its huge, chintzy refrigerator coil grille and two-tone scheme that brings out the horribly oversized wheel scallop best left to the ugly aforementioned Continentals.

I'm a GM man first and foremost but there were also a few Uggg-leee

Oldsmobiles, Chevrolets & even a few Buicks made those years as

well. With the wrong color combo on a two tone car I think even a '58

Olds can look hideous.

"Refrigerator Coil Grille?" Eh.... still better than the cheap, tin-like

grilles on most Fords & even some Chevrolets those years.

Styling is subjective. :spin:

The only Plymouths widely-accepted as being 'ugly' are the '61-62s, and even those have their fans, of course.

Most Plymouths were completely asthetically competant (that doesn't exactly say "beautiful" now, does it?), but the '57-58s were damn near pure inspiration and beauty. Lots of fine Plymouth design, IMO...
