Reviews: 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe

Combining speed, handling prowess and a well-appointed luxury interior, the 2008 Infiniti G37 Coupe is likely to win even more fans than it already has.

In the end, the G37 is still a fun-to-drive coupe with some attitude: it’s just that what’s there has been toned down quite a bit from the last model. While that’s bad for us hard-core enthusiasts, the extra refinement is a big improvement for those who have to live with the car everyday, whether sitting in traffic or cruising on the freeway. It’s not the quirky, jittery, manic machine the G35 was, but the Force is definitely with the G37.

It weighs 3,717 pounds.

Even with 330 horsepower, the G is outperformed by the IS350. And the styling is a step backward from the outgoing model in my opinion.

I have always had a hard time feeling ANY love for the Infiniti G models.....even this new one.

I can't tell you why.....I think they are attractive.....and have OK interiors.....and decent powertrains......I don't know.....

I just know that I'd NEVER take one over a BMW 3-series or Audi A4/A5.

I'd easily take one over the current 3 series...it's just too unattractive.

The main issue I have with the car is the rear end. It just looks so curvier and less pleasing to the eye as the G35 did. When I saw it at the Dallas Auto Show I had the same thoughts about the car as Edmunds does right now. It's a little more feminine looking, trading the edges for the curves and right now the G35 is the better looker in my book. Who knows, I may change my mind in the future as all cars take some getting used to but the G35 had design aspects that complimented each other very well.
