Wow, the coupe is going to go 255MPH? I wonder how stable that will be... It got 0-60 in 2.25s... the Veyron does 0-60 in 2.5s. A few years back a old Lingenfelter Z06 got 0-60 in 1.98s, so I think that's still the fastest. I don't recall the 1/4 mile time on it, but I'm sure Lingenfelter will do something sweet with the C6 Z06.

Hennessey at least last I checked hasn't put a 6spd Viper in the 8's

only 8sec full weight, IRS equipped, 6spd cars I'm aware of:

Chad's Heffner built Viper on pump gas, custom built tranny.
8.75 at 168.00

Ryan Woon's OEM 6spd Surpa, race gas, nitrous during gear changes, taken to dragstrip twice

Who would want to shift 4-5 times in less than 9 seconds? Thats the same reason many drag cars use 2 speed powerglides.
