9.75 Second Hennessey Viper

16 posts in this topic

Wow, the coupe is going to go 255MPH? I wonder how stable that will be... It got 0-60 in 2.25s... the Veyron does 0-60 in 2.5s. A few years back a old Lingenfelter Z06 got 0-60 in 1.98s, so I think that's still the fastest. I don't recall the 1/4 mile time on it, but I'm sure Lingenfelter will do something sweet with the C6 Z06.

Hennessey at least last I checked hasn't put a 6spd Viper in the 8's

only 8sec full weight, IRS equipped, 6spd cars I'm aware of:

Chad's Heffner built Viper on pump gas, custom built tranny.
8.75 at 168.00

Ryan Woon's OEM 6spd Surpa, race gas, nitrous during gear changes, taken to dragstrip twice
1290rwhp no NOS

8.99 at 165.7

Paul Efantis' OEM 6spd Supra, race gas, 2week build and tune time taken to dragstrip once.
http://www.fatkidracing.com/videos/paulrecord.wmv
8.97@166.4

only 7sec IRS car is a stripped Supra owned by Paul Efantis on race gas and nitrous Edited by toyoguy

Auto, yes...I'm sure it would be a bitch to control 1,100 ponies without it
go here...

http://www.lingenfelter.com/LingenfelterArticles.htm

click on the "world's fastest street corvette" pdf file and it says all right there. Top speed of 230, 0-60 in 1.97, quarter @ 8.95 @ 153.7.

Who would want to shift 4-5 times in less than 9 seconds? Thats the same reason many drag cars use 2 speed powerglides.

I don't see the relevance to the other cars listed.

I'm guessing that is factory backed, 1500lb tub, drag suspension, and sucks nitro-methane.
