Problems with C&G Server?

Featured Replies

Anyone experiencing server connection problems?

For me it intermittently doesn't work. Just gets a a connection refused error.

Yep, same thing for me... been happening all autoshow week.

Yeah, I had it twice tonight, but only for a couple minutes.

That's why Josh is working on getting the site it's own server instead of some crappy hosting company that we're on now.

yeah I've had my share of lost connections

sux when you type a post, click submit and it's lost.

Same here... quite annoying as it always happens when I try to post.

And the dreaded red X.....it's everywhere on this site. Never see this anywhere else on the internet.

That happened to me just as I was posting Toyota trivia.

Take two old Pentium 2s with large hard drives and lots of memory and run them in parallel. Volia, instant server. Might be a bit slow, but it's dead reliable. :P

No, host it on a Mac Plus (Yes, the 68000 one): http://lowendmac.com/rivera/05/1129.html

i thought it was getting slower because the site is so hawt right now and we are getting thousands of clicks per second ^_^

but i could be wrong

I was thinking we could just do a throw-back text only site like the first forums ever. Would save a bundle on bandwidth.

But... but... people will be going....

:worthless:

That's what I thought, too, the first time I got "404ed." The server is probably just getting more hits than it can handle.

Happened to me today.
