Lamborghini Aventador

Jalopnik has been slowly but surely releasing leaked pics of the new Lamborghini LP700, which by all accounts is named Aventador.

You can read the First Look here.

a few of the basics first:

--6.5L V12 engine producing 700hp at a mind-blowing 8250RPM and 506ft-lbs of torque at 5500RPM.

--Lamborghini ISR: an automated 6-spd manual gearbox, that is supposed to deliver crisp, clean shifts, yet allow for ease of use in normal driving conditions; it also supposedly provides an almost 50% shorter shift time than with a dual-clutch transmission –- with the benefits of lower weight and smaller size, according to Jalopnik.

--Carbon Fiber monocoque chassis that is 500lbs lighter than the Murcielago's, yet 70% stiffer.

--Inboard-mounted pushrod-actuated coilover suspension, similar to that of the Ferrari Enzo and Porsche carrera GT

--projected 0-60 time of 2.9 seconds and a 217mph top speed.

and now, the car porn:

It's like a Murcielago and a Reventon cross-pollinated...and the ensuing offspring took steroids.

Every color of the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 rainbow

My favorite is the Nero Pegaso:

Total nut bust.

But here is Grigio Estoque, which is probably closest to the color you're imagining:

I know it's not much more help, but this is basically all there is on the internet right here.

All Lamborghinis are red, the rest are mistakes.

It is a sexy car.

Ferraris? Yes

Lambos? I disagree.

I've always wanted a Lambo. My lust started with the Countach, though I don't think I'd own one. I'd love a Diablo. While I liked the styling, I was never sld on the Murcielago or the Gallardo. This on the other hand...this I could get behind. I love it.

Would be interesting, at this price, so see engineering bent a bit toward eliminating some of the panel seams. The shot of the intake: yikes! Think how cool it'd be if the car came with a 'carved from one block' look, with this same styling.

I like it, much more interesting & aggressive than ferrari- which have become so 'soft' IMO.

Good God, man, they're expensive enough to repair. I mean that would look cool, but just imagine if somebody rearends you at ten miles an hour, you have to replace the whole body instead of just a fascia. and if you're just sealing in the panel seams, then you'd have to reputty the seam, and repaint the whole car (which you know they'll do, rather than just spot-paint). Either way, you could probably buy two Breras for the repair cost.
