RE the recent '66 Impala discussion.... these seats recently sold on eBay.

They were from a '61 Starfire, but (pattern aside) are correct for '59-60 also (of note; they have full metal backs).

There were 5 pics, but you absolutely get the picture of their condition. No tricks.

Without checking the link / eBay, what would you guess a pair of '59-61 GM buckets, in complete but worn shape, would go for?

I'd say that they could go for three times that when the right restorer wants them.

WOW, That is amazing, as I figured like the others maybe $500 for the frame so they could be rebuilt for a restore job.

Yep, tho it may have been tough to accumulate 'a batch'.

I've read the estimated '59 Eldo Biarritz's with buckets was around 100 units, and that is likely the most frequent installation.

The pricing phenomena extends through the musclecar era.

Just check the pricing on Chevelle or Corvette buckets up to about '75 or so, for example.

WOW, I remember when my dad took me to the junk yard to get parts and I would sit in all the old late 60's to mid 70's muscle cars and pretend to drive. If I only knew that the value of keeping these seats around would be worth so much.

I sold a set of '66 Catalina buckets, white, that I bought out of a junkyard for $75 for $325, tho this was the early '90s.
