I remember lots of wagons being raced as a kid...

Now if I was only into drag racing rather than road racing and auto cross, I'd be a set....

My grandfather had a '69 Nomad in light blue metallic. 6 cylinder with 3 on the tree, he kept it until it would not pass our state safety inspection due to body rot. He traded it on a new '81 Malibu wagon, and he kept that for many years as well.

I'd bet the motor responsible is stashed elsewhere.

Which refocuses the spotlight on that $9500 if all you're going to do is 13.0s. Deceptive, IMO.
