9-3 Price gap

Recommended Posts

the convertible has quite a few more standard features I believe.

According to SAAB's own comparison, a 9-3 Aero sedan has

-Dual-zone climate control

-Automatic headlamps

-Front power memory seat

That isn't standard on the AERO 'vert.

unless SAAB changed the nomenclature around, the Aero is the top-line 9-3...I'm not saying the convertible doesn't carry a premium just for being a convertible, but that the $10k includes a few things also.

Those prices are in Canadian dollars. Which reminds me of something else.

Many Canadians are starting to complain about car prices here.

When I bought my Cobalt last summer, our dollar was sitting around 75c US. The Cobalt's Canadian MSRP and American MSRP translated when using that exchange rate. Now that our dollar hovers around 90c US, the prices don't work anymore. We're paying too much for our cars.

Prices from gmcanada.com

Base 9-3, manual, convertible: $54,900

Base 9-3, manual, sedan: #34,900

I know convertibles command a premium, but does this seem a little out of hand to anyone else???

especially for the convertible.. the Pontiac G6 convertible is the same car just diffrent sheetmetal, diffrent interior and diffrent engines..

...so how is it the same car again? oh, and either way, the G6 is a massive downgrade over the 9-3...
