Pontiac Fire-Am????

I was wondering if anyone knew any more info on the 1979 Pontiac Fire-Am? I saw one today and I had never heard of them. There was supposedly 36 made in 79.

I believe it was Herb Adams, legendary Pontiac suspension designer & racer who put together the Fire-Am package (aftermarket), but I can't guarantee that; I'd have to look it up.

Jezus these special edition 2nd gen. Pontiac F-bodys are

plentyful. The Yellow Bird, Sky Bird & Red Bird are new

to me as of last week when XP showed me one online.

If mammary serves, those special editions were based on the Esprit, Sixty8. That was a highlight of picking up the new brochures every fall, to see the Firebird Special Edition that year.
