  1. Equally important is that rideshares are not practical in a lot of small towns and rural America more generally. I have no need for a rideshare, but I do feel sorry for those who live in the middle of nowhere without a CAR of their own.

  3. The Ford truck is neat, never seen a pic of one of those...I've seen a few pics of the VW ones around the 'net, here's one hauling pipe and one that is out to pasture.

  4. I haven't read through everything but I saw sales comparisons.. Don't all new entries come out of the gate pretty hot? I think the Escalade and 'Gator numbers are pretty impressive not only besting the "competition" but the Escalade is the oldest by a country mile. Pretty much Escalade. The Navigator is the only true competition when it comes to a vehicle THAT size.

  5. Reminds me of the VW Typ 2 half cab trucks used for lumber or pipe hauling.

  6. I like using Uber occasionally when I’m going to dinner or a concert or other event downtown in an area without convenient parking...not something I’d use daily, but a few times a month.. For vacations, I could see using Uber esp. in places where I wouldn't rent a car.

  7. If I had any Photoshop skillz I'd love to come up with what a 2019 regular cab pickup would look like in the 1 seater narrow cab form...

  10. Prolly go to my grave having never used any of them. I think I’ve been in 2-3 taxis & 1 limo. Plus the ‘64 Sedan de Ville I hired for my wedding ?

  11. Confirmation from the photographer- the Ford was a local lumber delivery truck. Pretty cool in a 'blunt instrument' sort of way. If you note the VW was a production pickup but it's cut left of center, whereas the Ford was built 'cut' right of center- a LOT more load area on the Ford, aside from the wider width overall. VW added a cheapie extra 'windshield' to take up the width, instead of a new piece of (flat) glass. The Ford is on a 1-ton chassis and also has a 'pickup bed' below deck. The VW is very light duty- should probably stick to hay bales rather than steel.

  12. Nah, just for fun...though I am thinking of buying a lake house a few years down the road. I would like a single story house w/ more garage space in the future,, either on Lake Erie or close by.

  14. It was a beautiful Sunday for a Sunday drive...went out this afternoon up to Lake County and it was Pontiac Sunday..saw a sharp black w/ gold trim '77-78 Trans Am, and 2 min later a sharp gold '77/78 Trans Am. In a small town at a garage/resto business there was a black '63 Grand Prix sitting on flat tires w/ 8 lug wheels, parked next to a primered '66 Tempest 2dr. Saw a sharp mid 80s Trans Am in a driveway, a dark red '05-06 GTO, a silver Solstice top down, and a sharp two-tone green '77 Bonneville Brougham 4dr. Also saw a clean red '68 Camaro and a gold '65 Dodge Monaco 2dr ht.

  17. I have said many times, Cadillac needs a V edition. Escalade options that Cadillac should be doing: Escalade V Sport Escalade V Escalade Limo Edition. Just think of no 2nd seat, 3rd seat is your prime seating with plenty of leg room. Escalade Custom = Maybach. Yup Money left on the table.
