This is considered one of the top 10 drives in the US. It closes when snow starts coming down late fall due to avalanches and reopens at various times in the spring depending on the winter snow fall. An amazing loop from Seattle north on I5 to Burlington, then east on Hwy 20 to Lake Diablo, then continue east to the Town of Winthrop Washington going over the Liberty Bell Pass. From Winthrop you drive through the little town of Twisp, Carlton down to HWY 97 South to Starr. Continue south till you hit the sign that says Lake Chelan HWY 150. This takes you to the town and the lake. Lots of Wineries. You can then take the Alternative 97 on the south side of the lake to Winesap and then south to Entiat down to Wenatchee. From here you take HWY 2 to Sunnyslope, Cashmere and into Leavenworth and then back up over the mountain pass and back to Seattle.2 points

This weekend we had the opening for the North Cascade Highway. Wife and I always do the drive when it first opens. A total of 529 miles from our house North up I5 to Burlington, then East to Lake Diablo and then over the pass to the town of Winthrop, then on to Lake Chelan, Leavenworth and then up and over Hwy 2 (Steven's Pass) and back home. Left at 6am, returned home at 4:34pm. Not a bad road trip. Had drinks and food in the auto, but did stop for a bathroom break at Winthrop and the chocolate shop, got a snack at the Cider Bar in Lake Chelan of Zucchini Fries and then at the Heidelberg food stand for what we think is some of the best juicy chicken strips and deep fried mushrooms. All was very clean and social distant with masks. Good safe relaxing day. If your interested in what it looks like, I took 61 photos of the drive. Chocolate shop in Winthrop is awesome if you love chocolate. Lake Diablo North Cascade Highway (HWY 20) Washington State - Cheers and Gears Love the remodel, that is AWESOME! Look forward to the finished pictures.2 points

Wife had a good day, I set up her fountain for the rest of spring and summer, got her pots arranged and gave her a relaxation place. Kids came and took her to get another pot for her to plant something in for her flowers. I installed a new since and faucet for her. Extra deep and big, since we have gotten into cooking so much, she wanted a larger sink and our old double sink was just so small. This thing is big enough to bath a baby or toddler in. Hope everyone had a good mothers day.1 point

BUCA is all dead and closed in my area, terrible cheap poor food quality and service. Went once, never went back. I think allot of people did as they have been closed for years here. Yes, here in Washington state it is as follows: RCW 46.37.500: Fenders or splash aprons. (wa.gov) RCW 46.37.500 Fenders or splash aprons. (1) Except as authorized under subsection (2) of this section, no person may operate any motor vehicle, trailer, cargo extension, or semitrailer that is not equipped with fenders, covers, flaps, or splash aprons adequate for minimizing the spray or splash of water or mud from the roadway to the rear of the vehicle. All such devices shall be as wide as the tires behind which they are mounted and extend downward at least to the center of the axle. (2) A motor vehicle that is not less than forty years old or a street rod vehicle that is owned and operated primarily as a collector's item need not be equipped with fenders when the vehicle is used and driven during fair weather on well-maintained, hard-surfaced roads. This is from 2015, but the lack of following the law and the amount of windshield repairs has made many news outlets talk about the lack of enforcement. This is one of many that comes up for here.
