  1. They still seem to have retained that Mercedes style greenhouse. Jaguar wants to completely cut ties with 1968 with this new XJ.
  2. If an American carmake came up with that, it would be accused of being irresponsible.
  3. Exactly, that look and that tech has seen better days.
  4. That's probably true, I just wanted to take the temperature of C&G. Then if they aren't trying to stick around anyway, we may as well be guys and enjoy ourselves (no homo, LOL). Yeah, I probably won't talk fashion for a second, I got all my shopping in from January to May. Wardrobe's pretty much turned over. And I got all the Nikes, adidas, and Pumas I was interested in. Maybe the 11/12 Countdown pack of Jordans in December, but right now, I'm on hiatus. In any event, just wanted to see how to liven things up more.
  5. While I do agree that cars are a bit too computerized these days, there wouldn't be anywhere near the power, torque or fuel economy without them. Modern cars are generally not as charming, but they are technically superior.
  6. Have you forgotten about SAFETY features? Not a single one I can think of comes very light. Those old aircraft carriers might have been solid hunks of metal, but they weren't exactly safer. Steering wheel aimed squarely at your chest, and the door could still cave right in, as could the floor and roof. Not everyone is this excellent driver you the reader might think you are. Not to mention 15 years were spent pointing these same average motorists to trucks and SUVs. Cars had to be made a little more idiotproof as a result.
  7. Well....yeah, kinda was thinking on a little post with some zshare links to rare material (no albums, just rare singles)...I've seen it go down on other non-music sites without a hitch, and even attract new members . Has it gotten ugly here before regarding that? And to other posters, what do you think?
  8. So if political talk is now all good and Josh is no longer here to enforce his ideas, why is that banner still above every Lounge post? It isn't like the admins can't dump it if they want to open the forums up to more topics. For the record, I could do without such partisanship here. Figure I can discern one's ideology clearly enough when noticing tastes and views on cars. And the mods can do them without me saying anything, they know the rules and what direction they want the site to go better than I do. So hey, if y'all wanna have a political civil war here, ain't nothing I can do about it, knock yourselves out.
  9. Yeah, you learn not to bother telling douchebags anything. Though we understand portholes to be championed by Buick, these people (and the manufacturers) are inspired by Maserati using them on their latest cars.
  10. Not the biggest, just stuff not devastatingly personal, as my English prof once put it. -getting that damn credit card back in the day -looking for a different car instead of simply fixing the Pontiac and/or keeping the Supra (led to how crummy life is today) -when I stopped drawing -leaving my Minolta in the Pontiac
  11. I guess the "No political talk" rule is really dead here....
  12. It's been a minute, and I forget exactly which topic I wanted to bring up (might have even just been one about other brands of cars, I think I was talking about an expansion forum section), but a certain surly guy who doesn't post anymore basically screamed at me "this is a GM enthusiast site" as if going deep on anything beyond that wasn't welcome.
  13. Even an MP3 post?
  14. Just wanted to see who was ready to expand. Give me a late pass about any movements already started here. Posting to ask, since the last time I just posted, I got screamed on in a kinda pissy way....
  15. And 68, you must really not like athletic cars to be such a diehard BOF champion.
  16. But to whom are wagons not cool? I think they're the coolest two box vehicles out there. Low slung, slicker than your average bulls--t SUV, by far the best performers (when equipped and tuned as such). They're basically sedans with a SnugTop on the back, lol. I agree with all but the "lot of minivan" part. I've seen so many Magnums in this town, I couldn't help but think it was a huge success...I guess people got bored quickly in the rest of the country. And I don't think all estates have to be the greatest family cars on the planet. Some can be aimed at folks with less baggage who want a fun car with extra capacity just in case. Kinda personal grand touring wagons if you will. I like that the Magnum, Mazda6 wagon, Focus wagon, Jetta wagon, et al, were available while they were. And I look forward to the Flex being a success, as well as the CTS wagon hitting the showrooms. Keeps hope alive, as do the few hatches sold here.
  17. I would think the Ecotec brings thoughts of a Quad-4 more so than an Iron Duke. Not to mention wouldn't a badge for Iron Duke refer to it as "Tech IV?"
  18. Ventura would have been a nice fit, if Venture wasn't so close.
  19. Everyone is entitled to their tastes. I felt the Mag made a bold statement. Was it aimed at the wine-and-cheese crowd, probably not. And I'm honestly still not convinced the hybrid is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Generally, I think it's because the market is currently so sparse, that it hurts those that are left, and the buyers interested in one. Marketing and these gas price conditions help. Look what marketing did to switch everyone over to minivans (taller capacity...besides wagons are for your dad!), then SUVs (minivans are for soccer moms, these are so much cooler...plus they're more profitable for us!!!), and now hybrids (we the people at Toyota and Honda corner this market, so you really need one...buy today!! Andohyeah, go environm....) Gas prices pointed everyone back to cars. Why couldn't the wagon market flourish again right about now? There won't be a CTS hearse BTW, too small. Look to whatever occurs in the DTS or Lucerne's place whenever that replacement finally comes online. That would have been the place for a 300 to get run (since we have all these 300 limos).
  20. One thing this DOES go to show, however, is that all difficulty and ownership by twerps aside, the iron is out there still available. Whether you wanted to resto, build a Pro Tourer, a lo-lo, convert to vegetable oil, or use for a movie, the game is not over. Jesse Jackson said it best, keep hope alive.
  21. Seriously, it's disgusting how these douchebags won't part with them until the authorities pretty much yank them up for free. It's liek these people are weird packrat hoarders who feel having stuff built up like so muhc junk builds character or whatever. I remember a house in Gardena that had that 69 GP I've been hungry for sitting up in his front yard, along wiht some other worthy iron...I asked and of course they said no. And of course a short time later, it was all taken away.
  22. Maybe the $4-5 gas world we're in now will cause everyone to wonder about wagons again. GM's financial woes will probably keep that from happening. The market for executive cars has been ceded to Audi, BMW, and Mercedes, so all non-premium volume brands have retreated that segment (E, what we know as mid/full-size) in Europe. Hence no more Scorpio, Carlton/Omega, Vel Satis, et al. Only Peugeot's 60x car and the Chrysler 300 remain. But Cadillac wants to go toe-to-toe, so we benefit.
  23. So so far in the Good Interior category, we have Malibu, Camaro, and now this on the list.
  24. So is there any decision yes or no for the four (late pass if this came up in another thread)?
  25. GM just sold me another car right....here: I might NOT miss Pontiac if Chevy keep this up. Now about how about this rubbing off on the HHR, Impala, and Cruze?
