  1. My thing is going down the road of in-depth talks on politics and religion has a bad potential to color opinions between people, open wounds, etc. We already have strong a-- ideologies about things like cars and music that polarize us now. And once those lines are crossed, there really is no turning back (like in the bottomless Pictures thread, for instance). Even sports falls into that slippery slope category. All of the above have one thing in common: potential to poison the well we all draw from, and start people judging persons and their opinion on one thing based on something totally unrelated, and altering their approach to boot.
  2. This thread is why these exist: Can this be locked now?
  3. Gotta imagine it will become a douchebag's dream if and when a convertible version hits the streets.
  4. Been a while since I was in one of these... Anyway, yesterday: -the new STi hatch -an R33 Skyline.....LEFT-HAND drive!! -a 64-65 Chevelle 4-dr. dropped on steelies with finned exhaust pipes and the door handles shaved off. A compelling case for 64-65 Chevelle 4-drs, and for dropping cars on steelies*. *cars that aren't 90s Hondas anyway... All month long I've seen three '08 Malibus, all of which seemed to be black. Also the rust orange CRX that I believe the kid with the kidney issues had done on Pimp My Ride. Forgot to note that today, I saw the first Audi S5....that thing is beautiful, screw what anyone else has to say....
  5. Those snow bricks CAN be put to use....you're not gonna ice drinks or do anything involving immediate human consumption with them.... But think of all the places with drought issues.
  6. Basix....any wish for things to be homogeneous is simply foolish. Differences "keep the planet interesting" (I forgot where I got that quote)
  7. Oh wow.... Not to mention convert everyone to Christianity. The Crusades of the new millenium!! I'm not setting foot on other slippery slopes this suggests.
  8. Caught my very first just last week. Don't know any particulars, and I couldn't even tell if it was black or midnight blue.
  9. Introducing the 2010 Chevy Avalon!!
  10. I still have yet to see a Malibu either in a dealership or on the streets... Probably two Accord coupes and two sedans. Another extremely rare car is the Altima coupe. Probably saw only my second ever on the road last night.
  11. The family has a 3.9 Impala, so I agree that it takes off demonically. Makes me wonder how the SS does.
  12. And there are yet some that knock GM half to death also. Simply don't like anything, unless of course it's their dream car (real or fictitious)
  13. Can a car that came in both 2- and 4-door variants (even a wagon with some generations) really be called a pony car?
  14. I think one can come up with a lot not to like when they really don't want to like the car. That's not to say certain touches couldn't have been executed better. But then, I can't accuse C&G of objectivity.
  15. I saw it at the Auto Show today.... Yes, the fanboys bust nuts all over it... But with good reason. Those pictures do it zero justice. That car is a cold blooded murderer. GM and Ford are on notice. And warmed over versions of Corvettes and Mustangs (while not slouches) won't be what does it. Nothing less than a reimagined GTO and RS200-type car will capture the people's imagination the world over like that car. The GT-R shouldn't be weighed down with the Skyline name baggage, because it is clearly something completely different. Skylines of the past may have inspired Nissan to go all out, but that's about it. This car is a whole new strain, for real. Pontiac (not Chevy or Cadillac) and Ford should be cooking up the heat yesterday.
  16. Don't know what they're worth, but those beasts are as rare as they come these days.
  17. I never saw you say anything like that, bro. I was just going on the assumption that folks don't fly that logo for irony reasons. I didn't even say you were prejudiced, bigoted, racist, etc. I don't know what race or sexual orientation you are, nor does it necessarily matter to me. Note to mods: that's my last public note on that sidebar. Back to trailer park trashmobiles. Continentals and Marks of that period always annoyed me with that drop, while otherwise being as buckety as a car could possibly get. It was either the rear or all four that were blown out. And no one that owned those cars could afford or be bothered to fix them. Like springs were enough to get by. Truly gutter in every department. Can I get a witness about the trashiness of frontie Sevilles and Eldorados also? Chiefly 79-85, but they all could equally get nasty...hell, most all 80s frontie Caddys.
  18. Shows what I know about Mopar...in any event... I'd have chosen a 60s fastback model to draw inspiration from. Definitely nothing badge-engineered Challenger about those.
  19. I think the 60s Barracudas were more iconic.
  20. The fanboys are blowing a huge load as we speak.
  21. Just like Pontiac was supposed to quit making notchbacks also.I doubt they would go there.
  22. The people will eat up anything with a Toyota badge due to brand perception... But the Vibe is the better looking car.
  23. Co-sign on the rest of your take, but no one said the CTS-V needed more power....it's the more bread-and-buttery model trims. CTS-V was like that line's SRT8.
  24. There has to be more behind that little Dixie avy of yours than Southern pride, my friend.
