I am no longer friends with one guy I used to be really close to in HS for the same reason. I just got tired of his constant homophobic comments (telling me only gay boys wear D&G sunglasses upon seeing me wearing a pair...ummmm yea ..."I feel like such a fag ordering a soy chai at Starbucks!"), never being able to have a conversation without going out of his way to remind me (or anyone) that he was a Christian (interrupting a conversation to ask for silence so he could do his "Christian time out" i.e. pray...yea you don't need perfect silence for that, way to draw attention to yourself), and generally acting like a judgmental ass towards more secular people (like me). Now, I'm Christian...but I'm not ridiculous about it...and he'd try to evangelize me. Every conversation. It just got to be a bit much. Oh yea, same "Oh, I don't drink. (disapproving stare)" It's too bad; we were pretty close in HS for a while...but I just had to distance myself when it became apparent that he had no respect for my less-stringent beliefs or the fact that I do not like hearing "fag" and "that's gay" any more than I like hearing "N" in conversation...ugh.

...and didn't his Mini just get named official Twink Car? Yea no straight guy would be *THAT* physically affectionate. But...so you say he went from not knowing you exist to touching you and stuff? You not making any of this up? Be honest.

This is just a photoshop of the current CTS...the new one is proportionally different. Some subtle cues are accurate, but as a whole, no, this is nothing like the next CTS. Mooooooooooooving on.

Originally this WAS to be our Torrent, but Lutz decided Pontiac needs a refocusing and rebadged the current Torrent to satisfy dealers. I only mentioned Equinox earlier because it's a Euro Chevy and so much better than OUR Chevy.

I think it's fine, and other than door handles I really see very little 9-3 in it. This is good differentiation.

Everything I have heard is that it has been very moving for the gay community (what a shock there) and has left the heterosexual community generally either a) apathetic, or b) not a fan. From non-gay individuals I have heard the following two comments by far the most: 1) None of the characters were overly sympathetic; I just couldn't relate to it. I guess it was OK. 2) I didn't really like it because he basically had an affair and lied to his wife. I don't support that kind of behavior gay or straight. Did you see how hurt she was as a result? Not cool. I have not heard of a single person having some progressive-thought epiphany as a result of seeing the movie. If you have an article or anything, though, I'd be happy to read it. --- I don't know what you mean by "Crash" being done before; most race movies have traditionally been made right after some large national issue like the LA Riots or depicting the 1950s-60s Civil Rights Movement. "Crash" was done to show that although many people think racism is a problem of the past, it is still among us and in ways many of us overlook and don't realize. When has that been done before? I just guess I don't understand the logic behind thinking Brokeback winning best picture would provide so much validation, and then when it doesn't win, suddenly there is some huge conspiracy against the gay community (in Hollywood of all places!).

I just think it's hilarious how people are now blaming homophobia as the reason Brokeback didn't win all the awards it was nominated. Puh-lease. That just sounds desperate and ridiculous; Hollywood is filled with gay people and that really just isn't the issue some of you want it to be.. Both Crash and Brokeback were incredibly controversial, and only one could win. Crash had bigger names behind it, was more accessible to the general population and had some amazing performances in it. That's why it won. "Best Picture" is an overall, "in general" kind of category. That's most likely why it won.
