  1. Now we KNOW he's gone off the deep end!
  2. Maybe no differences in build quality, but the materials in the G6 are decidedly low-grade in comparison. GM matched the Altima, not Camcord.

This is a very ecologically ignorant post. Pollution generated in the city doesn't just stay in the city; it goes everywhere. You say it's too late but due to swift action by governments the Ozone Hole is set to close in about 50 years. Guess what? All those places you mentioned are polluted compared to how they were 200 years ago. Not cool.Things can and will improve if we stop being immature selfish people and start giving a damn about someone other than ourselves for a change!
  4. Well duh! I'd be shocked as anything if this were not the case!
  5. Most important thing to me is an athletic character, followed very closely by interior quality, features and design, also followed very closely by exterior design statement. Overall practicality ranks #4.

See, the original topic had no qualifications in it, and Oldsmoboi recommended a Cobalt and NOS recommended a 1998 Camaro (late-model IMO) and ocn waits until I post my list not only to criticize it, but to imply that I am ignorant of crash percentages as a result of my list. Also, I am well aware of the monetary issue, but it's a pretty well-known fact that cars are less safe old than new due to corrosion, general wear and tear, and other incidents that come from owning and operating a car. If an old beater is all that can be afforded, fine, but that doesn't mean I have to recommend it, especially when a new or late-model compact car can be had for about a hundred dollars per month via a leasing program. A part-time minimum wage job at McDonald's can cover that no problem with money to spare. There are options.

You don't realize that as a result of your trying to start stuff by responding negatively to my posts on a frequent basis after I have repeatedly and kindly asked you to cease and desist I have put you on "Ignore" and only see your posts when others quote them, clearly.--- To everyone else, I think my list speaks for itself: practical, fuel-efficient (first-time drivers tend to be low on cash), safe, high-quality, enjoyable to drive and stylish. I really don't know what ocn's issue is regarding my list. Most of the people at my HS received new or late-model cars. Most of the people kept their cars in good shape and took care of them. The few who didn't tended to be the few who received (or bought on their own) beater cars. Those people in the old beater cars by and large were also the ones with the most extensive injuries when they were involved in accidents because the beaters they drove had already been in previous accidents or lacked modern safety equipment like air bags, seat belt tensioners, effective safety cages, etc. Now, granted this is entirely anecdotal, but what would you care more about, your new or late-model car you bought or received...or some POS beater that is "just wheels" and is missing all but one of its hubcaps?

    HYUNDAI AZERA

Their commercials say it's more spacious than a BMW 760i. Pretty impressive in that regard...but seriously? Hyundai comparing themselves to BMW? Seriously?

    "ACURA CSX"

But you're proving my point: GM chose to make the two extremely similar-looking even though there's no good (financial) reason for it.
  21. I don't think anyone "needs" a NAV system. That said, how many Mazda3s, Accords and Camrys are ordered with one is irrelevant; the fact that it's offered is good with the image of the car. GM has pretty much made the center stacks of all its cars take the same radio units. If complete commonality can be achieved, then it wouldn't really cost GM anything to stick a NAV system in there if the customer wants it. Or GM could go the Ford route of having a dash-top storage compartment that is replaced with a NAV unit if ordered.
  22. It is indeed W-body. I personally see zero CTS in the interior.

    "ACURA CSX"

Well, look at the W-body Chinese LaCrosse. It has a straight beltline and a straight door-sill. The Grand Prix and US LaCrosse share the curved beltline and door sill. The profiles are still pretty similar. I mention the Chinese LaCrosse because it's proof that even using the W-body platform, greater styling differentiation (particularly profile styling) can be achieved.

Yea, GM's come a long way. I still think they need to go farther, though.
  25. eh. GM needs more than just fancy marketing to sell these trucks. They need new interiors, more power, and more differentiation STAT!
