  1. Can't wait... :fingers crossed:
  2. Hm, well let's think about this for a minute...if someone is passing someone else and only going marginally faster than they are, and you have been on cruise significantly faster, that's obnoxious. Down in LA, speed limits on freeways are generally 65 (a few are as low as 55, namely the Hollywood south of the split, the Santa Ana until the East LA interchange, the San Bernardino near the split, and the Harbor and Pasadena north of the 10), but quite a bit of traffic goes 80-85. Slower traffic should keep right, but rarely does. It can be annoying when there is no reason to be going at the speed limit or barely above, and someone is doing just that and holding up traffic. I can usually get from USC to Palos Verdes in about 30-40 minutes, so barring an accident or road work, why should it take me 45-50? Time is money, and every second that slips away is a moment in time you will never get back.
  3. I dunno man, I'm not sure this would appeal to a Prostitution-Whore.
  4. Stucco is awesome, when done right. When done poorly, every bit of water damage is super obvious, and patching it pretty blatant too.
  5. Well, the photo came from a google search for wood siding, and the siding above the porch roof looks an awful lot like rotting wood to me, but google could be wrong.
  6. I just did a google search trying to find "good" and "bad" examples of everything. Couldn't find a "bad" for cement siding, though. Vinyl also has a tendency to exacerbate mold issues, or so I've been told. Personally, I'm turned off by the cheap look of it. Indiana has so many vinyl villages that dropped out of the sky seemingly overnight, and while SoCal isn't immune to suburban tract housing, the beige stucco looks a hell of a lot nicer than vinyl or aluminum siding.
  7. Aluminum Siding: Do you get hail? Vinyl Siding: This siding melted and warped, even though it was on the shaded east side of the property. Wood Siding: Cement Siding: What I can tell you is this: wood and cement siding have the potential to add the most resale value to your home, with wood having more "character," but cement siding being relatively maintenance-free yet having a much more premium look than vinyl or aluminum. Personally, I prefer wood, but cement would do...I'd stay away from vinyl or aluminum as they're cheap, and most often look it, too.
  8. Believe it or not, I don't change my own oil. I don't really have the facilities to do so, and my Aurora requires that it be perfectly level or angled downward toward the front due to the location of the drain. Stupid. I was just asking because my 100k is coming up really soon, and I wanted to switch without sounding like a fool at the mechanic shop--I don't want to come off as a stupid upstart.
  9. Vinyl and aluminum siding are super cheap, and not in a thrifty way. Go for the cement siding.

    Ram Literally

Looks like a bank drive-thru. Cheap construction.
  11. Question...if I were to switch to synthetic, what (if anything) would I have to do in changing out the oil? Are there any issues with switching to synthetic in a 10 year old car?
  12. I actually like the eyebrows...it definitely evokes the old sheetmetal "brows" of vintage Buicks.
  13. Yes, but when they are taking feedback on behalf of GM and sending it to them, that makes them much more than glorified salespeople.
  14. No, GM showed off a European-spec SAAB 9-5. The Cruze models on the floor were both LTZ, "fully-loaded" (or "almost fully-loaded" when I pressed the rep), and when asked about the foglamps, the rep wasn't sure at all if they'd be available in the US. GM's done this before, so I won't go assuming. They show off pre-pro all the time, why not now? Makes no sense. I think GM decided the compact class wasn't amazing enough for fogs in the US...because that sounds like GM.
  15. I think this is good news. When I was at LAIAS, I asked about the availability of fog lamps vs. the cheesy plastic inserts on display at both of the floor models. The rep wasn't sure, but she pulled out her PDA and started typing in notes when I told her that in my opinion, since the Cruze had foglamps in the rest of the world, GM either needed to redesign the front bumper without the cutouts, or to at least offer Cruze buyers the option of having foglamps. I also mentioned that GM regularly gets pounded in the press over things like this, and for over $20k those plastic inserts were unacceptable and cheap-looking, marring an otherwise beautiful car. It should also be noted that the floor models were "LTZ" and were supposed to be approximately fully-loaded. My parents were with me, and also let the rep know they were potential buyers and generally liked what they saw. I'm guessing GM is using these extra 3 months to launch this car right, and I applaud them for that. They definitely were taking feedback from people on the floor.
  16. LOL, but I've given out far more positive than I have negative--hence my complaint about hitting my quota, which never happened with the negatives. Just trying to be pragmatic.
  17. Bench seats are awful. If you need to haul 5+ other people, get a minivan, wagon, SUV, or crossover.
  18. How about this: is it possible to simply have a positive rating? That way it would be self-regulating without being as much of a bully situation--it would work the same way; you could see posters who have a certain positive rating or higher, but the negative wouldn't come into play. That way the system could be less punitive, and therefore positive. What do other people think?
  19. Frankly, if we have a moderating team, I don't see the NEED for the rep system. I also think that in the case of smk, people automatically vote him down. I see his negative reps are already quite high, and some of those posts actually weren't bad at all.
  20. Huh? You don't make any sense. Zeta, if used in a Cadillac vehicle, would be upgraded. Look at how frequently GM updates or modifies its other platforms--you're telling me Zeta "can't" be? Man, you post one insightful post, then follow it up with tripe like this...one step forward, twenty steps backward...you are truly a GM fan
  21. Fer sher; that's exactly what I was implicitly referencing.
  22. Can't disagree with you here. Even Ford has gotten the memo about RWD with the rumored plans for the next-gen Taurus and MKS. Of course, if the Caprice were to make it Stateside as is being speculated, I'm sure Cadillac will have a variant.
  23. A lot of this is true. I dunno, I just wish I could give more positive feedback. I can see why negative would be limited, especially for the reasons you just stated, but positive feedback shouldn't be limited; that's just ridiculous.
  24. Kitty litter is awesome for regaining traction in winter weather after spinning is all your tires seem to want to do...
  25. Of course not; I'm just saying I'd be able to bestow more positive rep points with a higher quota. Not unlimited--but higher than what is currently available (seems like ~10/day, whereas ~20 or ~25 would be more appropriate for a board with this much traffic/posts IMO). I mean, once I hit quota, I doubt I'll remember "hey, tomorrow I should go back and try to rate this post again," because there will be plenty of new ones appearing.
