i did one with my bro in his ~92? mr2... was w/i maybe 5 seconds of his time on my second run around. if you have the time/money to try it, certainly do. you should find several new friends at the place too.
  3. it's recommended to get the tranny fluid and filter changed every 100K no matter what... right? did mine at ~150K don't know if wear on the brass parts was normal since it was the first time i know it was done...the shop said the filter had alot of brass in it... could be normal if that was the first time.
  4. "While interstates paid for themselves out of gas taxes and other road user fees, all the capital and billions of dollars of annual operating costs of high-speed rail will be borne by general taxpayers, most of whom will rarely ride the trains." with that kind of thinking why don't they just add another tax onto gas for building transit trains, then move it over to the ticket price once they were used tons more? weren't the cali test cars buicks? wonder what all that drafting did to their mileage, heh. ...and how would you tell it to pull over for a bathroom break?
  5. it's 2.33 or so here.
  6. so i got it in today. wow! makes my crt's picture look dull..it's right beside it.
  7. don't worry about sending me one... the samsung has one with it
  8. i was thinking you'd send me a few just to reduce the # you'd throw away... oh well. bought the samsung and the fans through newegg... should get the lcd tuesday, coming from memphis.
  9. Thanks for the offer Olds, only thing is, if you send me them, then i'll end up throwing them away most likely. I just don't have any other DVI devices in my home. a friend works in IS at a local hospital i could prolly get some from without much hassle if the need arrives.
  10. yeah...eyefinity... thought about it... but not cheap, at least from newegg since single card requires a display port monitor..or buy a converter...eewwww lol i was leaning towards the samsung too...~$40 is a lot to pay for 1 more input and then have to find a cable too.
  11. hm.... between samsung http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001390 or the LG http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005149 hm... the LG has an HDMI but no cable or DVI cable the samsung is cheaper doesn't have HDMI but comes with a dvi cable... i only have one DVI to vga adapter i know where it's at, i'm using it. my 4770 only has 2 dvi outputs but came with a dvi/HDMI adapter too... what would you do?
  12. i don't play any greatly demanding games yet... you happen to enjoy Combat arms? it runs 16X12 quite fine and could OC it a little if i needed to. will still keep my 19" crt too. have unlocked my x3 to an x4 running @ 3ghz...just cause i can, but allowing it to down clock it automatically for regular use (power saving). lol nope, working on my desk for a positive pressure enclosure, but haven't bought the fans yet for it, 180mm ones. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835220036 will run off a DC adapter @9V but prolly draw only 3/5ths of it's max Amps so it might be more like 10V waiting for Seagate's new line of HDD before i upgrade to my W7 Pro. you seen some reviews on it's momentus XT hybrid drive? hopefully they could do 2x that for a desktop drive, i'd prolly buy one soon after it was reviewed.
  13. been thinking of getting an LED backlit one for awhile... in the low $200 range. gamers- notice any blurring on screens with a 5ms G2G time? something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824005149 anyone play alot with LCD's and use them for more than just "average" use? note- i'm not going to be 'shopping any pics anytime soon so ips vs other tech doesn't matter so much to me
  14. Happy birthday!
  15. not coming up for me....?> nvm... came up after i post this

  20. facts need to come from the best first hand accounts. the problem with history is how interconnected everything is, this provides a huge problem for text books and truly interested students...the text book would be thousands of pages for the US alone, and some of the ideas would be too tough to be put in chronological order for some politician(s) to decide. texts books can provide a timeline to start with and topics to cover, but they must not be the only book nor a required book for students. school is no longer about teachers and students, it's about text book companies and administrations choosing what students must learn, mostly from the D.O.Education. obviously not the way children actually learn.
  21. white knight, i think you undervalue the Intelligence of 4yo... they just haven't learned what us adults think we know yet. lol and Dave, sometimes they think it's the right thing to do (special interests mostly) and sometimes it is the right thing to do, but this time it's not the later
  22. for those non existent British here. hahah no offense guys.
  23. kinda jealous.
  24. ah ok. i'll probably just wait for the NG hard drives to get here and install my W7 on that with ahci. thanks
  25. saw this a day late...
