  1. I'll ask my Cadillac guru at the dealership to see what he's hearing from Corp. Navigator is TTV6 only so Ford isn't making the best decisions either.
  2. No, they just released the RWD/AWD CT4 and CT5. GM top brass never even gave it a chance being it just came out in 2016 and it didn't sell well because they never properly marketed it...and again it just came out in 2016. They're just making room for the BEV3 platform at D-HAM. Sucks...
  3. Just another way to try to make recurring revenue that bit BMW in the arse. What is there that the app does that they would need to charge for? Sounds like they didn't understand how it worked. My Silverado MyLink has Apple CP and Android Auto apps preloaded, all it really does is allow your smartphone to connect to the in-car infotainment system to mirror your phone and like you stated, at no charge.
  4. Mary's just the messenger for the top brass bean counters, you know that.
  5. Just read this on the Cadillac Society site. GM bean counters are just making more bad decisions canceling a model that they spent hundreds of millions of dollars on R&D and never really even marketed it, Volt is another car that comes to mind. They could have kept the XT6 on the CT6's Omega platform to help with costs and just build CT6 in limited quantities like MB does with the S and BMW does with the 7, they've never really been big volume cars in the fullsize luxury sedan class. I'm going to go drive a CT6-V Blackwing that my go to Caddy dealer has. They had 6 sold 3, 2 black, 1 white left on this shipment.
  6. Oh good another jellybean! Just what buyers asked for 😂
  7. Wow some comparison posts on here are WAY off. Back-end not bad if not a bit bland, but the front end with that huge chrome G90-esque grille is hideous. Looks like this is going to be the theme for the Genesis line from now on.
  8. Nissan/Infiniti obviously still in a death spiral. Can't see how NIMOCO can sustain the consistently deep red sales numbers for much longer. If they can't get in the green this time of the year with all the model year end close outs then they might as well close up shop. SMART "car" we're all going to miss you...NOT!!
  9. Here the PHX IAS only had the C Class, SL, GLS and a GLC I think that's it, no other CUV's, E or S Class. BMW only had X5, the new X7 and a 3 Series. And they were basically sharing a section, pretty weird. Bummed Aston didn't have the new DBX CUV as it's supposed to launch late Spring 2020. They had a DB11 out.
  10. Right, all transmissions have been electronically controlled for over three decades, but not all have shift solenoids or "shift by wire" like this.
  11. Man that display screen has seen better days. You use steel wool pads on it? 😁 Yeah, just not a fan of the rotary or button shifters as stated before, too artificial and now you have to worry about the shift solenoid or actuator going out at the transmission or slopping a sugary drink or even water in the buttons if you have to slam on the brakes, second one most likely not covered by the long warranty. Some things to consider in a daily driver. I realize that other manf's. do it as well and it's to save space in the console, but it's just another electronic moving part that will inevitably go bad at both ends. Long live the column shifter! 😎
  12. Nov. through May more like. June through Sept. is triple digits. Even Oct. this year was awesome. Mid to upper 80's. Beaut!!
  13. Missing PHX about now? 61 right now, 45 this morning. Beautiful! If you say "No" I know you're lying!
  14. Seen in person? Sat in? I have. Both very polarizing to look at. Cheapness everywhere. You get what you pay for. Honda's CUV's although reliable and well built are getting stale. Toyota is bland Toyota. Subaru...boring. The brand new 2020 Exploder I sat in already had a broken center console hatch latch that wouldn't close. Broken spring clip when I looked at it to see what was up. "Built Ford Proud". 😂
  15. Neither. Just saw them both in person. Just cheap knockoffs. Can't stand rotary shifter's either same with the push button shifters. I was just talking with my buddies about them at the PHX Auto Show. You don't get that positively in gear feeling like you do with a physical shifter (column or console) tied directly to the transmission with actual shift cable linkage.
  16. Nothing is exciting about the Palisade at all. Just got back from the Phoenix International Auto Show with a couple of buddy's. All of us thought it's just the usual Hyundai they've always been. Non of us saw anything new or improved to write home about and most of it looked and felt pretty cheap, door handles, seats, interior pieces etc... The old saying "You get what you pay for" will always ring true!
  17. Just stating that you have the option to shut them off now. DOT probably won't mandate anything that actually takes over the car for several more years.
  18. You can shut most of them off. My past luxury coupe had the full safety alert pkg., rear cross traffic alert tone and buzzing seat cushion, buzzing seat for lane departure and slowing traffic ahead too, emergency braking with buzzing seat, flashing light in windshield and alert tone all very annoying. I shut everything off except the Adaptive Cruise Control it was a very cool feature when on the highway.
  19. You keep missing the fact that it's Hyundai trying to copy the design cues of Cadillac not the other way around, which is the only reason Cadillac was brought up in the discussion. Yep, $20K is about the premium you'd pay for a Cadillac compared to a Chevrolet or Lincoln to a Ford or Lexus to a Toyota. Good job, Gold Star for the day. How about sticking to the subject instead of changing it to fit your diatribe of whiny BS..."Oh I want everyone to think the Korean cars are awesome and anyone that thinks different well they're a fanboy and I'm going to tell them"...what a joke. I've owned luxury and non luxury makes and models so I know first hand what I'm talking about with the whole experience...do you? If not, then do yourself a favor...
  20. I think driving both the XT6 or even another luxury make/model back to back with this Palisade would be the best way to compare them. Were they both low profile tires with 20" or 22" inch wheels? If both were loaded with all options you'd definitely get more from a luxury make and model than a Hyundai including the dealership experience, that's why they are a luxury car/CUV because of what you get for your money. Pot calling Kettle... Go back and read the post about the G90 and how pretty much every comment was "looks like an Acura" or "Audi" or "Volvo". You even joined in because it was the consensus that it's a knockoff.
  21. Thanks for clearing that up Drew, it's very obvious to most on here what the Koreans are doing. Palisade, Telluride, G90 (current and upcoming) etc...
  22. The contract should state at the bottom: *Thank you big brother GM for all the tedious contract negotiation work and taking one (or $2Bil) for the team.
  23. Yeah not competitive, because the Escalade has dominated the fullsize segment for basically the entire 20 years since they came out in '99. The CT4 and 5 just came out so you have no merit in stating that they aren't or won't be competitive. ATS and CTS were very competitive as well and sold pretty well, XT5 has been a very competitive CUV and one of Cadillac's top sellers behind Escalade, also the new XT4 has been highly lauded by automotive journalists who have tested it and it's selling really well.
  24. Yet, it's clear that they are "trying" to emulate Escalade, just like they try to emulate MB, Acura and dare I say Infiniti with design cues in the G80 and G90. I know other manufacturers copy some cues here and there from competitors, but Hyundai is pretty blatant about it. Yes, there are GM top brass bean counters who need to be slapped upside the head with some of the decisions they make. Yes, Omega was going to underpin the XT6. Most likely worried about cannibalizing the Escalade sales, especially with a new one being released mid to late next year.
