  1. I agree. I would be willing to help in anyway I can if it were needed. This site is set as my homepage
  2. Some more pics of my car Here's my cam, and springs, I just got them today. I ordered the rest of the parts that I will be installing along with the cam, the intercooler, and a 160 degree thermastat. In a few weeks I will be buying a 3.0 pulley, a rewire kit for my fuel pump for increased fuel pressure, and my first non-mechanical mod, an aluminum mesh grill. More pics to come soon.
  3. That was directed at BV, but yours sounds like a rod knock, but that wouldn't stop when it is in park. It's hard to tell without hearing it in person.
  4. Did you take out the retainers at all? Does it sound like a lifter ticking?
  5. Some say the STS is watered down, what would that make the Sixteen? Melted? I'd rather see Simon Cox's version make production. Was the V12 put on hold from GMs financial crisis? And the V10 for the trucks? Last I heard was they were coming, but that was a few years ago.
  6. Yep, the 360 Modena was the most beautiful car ever, until the F430 was released. I don't care for the other Ferraris too much either.
  7. Thats why it was directed at the media.
  8. You forget the part where they also put less power to the ground than manuals, and how in manuals you can select the gear you want before the turn, when an auto will automatically downshift. Manuals give you greater control in what the car is doing, unlike manual brakes, which give you less control. Power brakes assist you, but you still make the decision of how much pressure to apply, they dont determine when you should stop. Why not put automatic steering, and automatic cruise control, so we dont even have to be awake when we drive anymore? No thanks. I actually like to drive my cars. Lets just take the drivers out of the cars in races, and make fully automated race cars. Glorified dog racing anyone?
  9. I just hope there is a V8 version that can be sold at around $25,000, like with a 5.3L. A 300hp V6 is nice, but not for me. If I buy a Camaro, I need the sound of a V8. Is the 3.9 going away? The only cars that offer it, and don't offer the 3.6 also, are the Monte Carlo and Impala, and they are going away with Zeta. The and Aura, G6 both offer the 3.6 now.
  10. I dont know, alot of cars that get the 3.9, are now getting the 3.6 also. Maybe the 3.9 will be a short lived engine?
  11. How much of a difference will HCCI make on a diesel, which already uses compression ignition anyway? The only difference is the homogeneous charge? I thought the 20% improvement was for gas engines, because they could support higher compression due to switching to compression ignition.
  12. What I don't understand, is how anyone can say the STS doesn't look that good. I fell in love with that car when I saw one driving around, even more than I like the CTS. I think some here may be justifying it sales numbers(not on purpose) by saying the car is watered down. I think if it were selling like crazy, many here would have praised it's beautiful styling. The STS makes the CTS look chunky and oddly proportioned in comparison.
  13. A basic family sedan, yes maybe a manual should not be offered, but cars wearing an SS name, or GTP for Pontiacs, not being offered at all with a manual? Why even make performance editions, then stop short of offering the total package?
  14. The 5.3L has been in the full size trucks since the intro of the GMT-800s. Corvette will always be on top, the Blue Devil will make sure of that.
  15. Wasn't that his point? He didn't state no one else has done it, he stated Toyota is like the rest of them, and not corporate saints like the media likes to portray them as.
  16. I want a Ferrari F430, and I don't really care if the Z06 is faster. Hopefully I'll own one in my lifetime. That is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen on 4 wheels.
  17. With better handling, and better gas mileage at the same time.
  18. I wish they could get it in under 3300lbs with a v8. Very doubtful though.
  19. Is it possible the Impala and Monte Carlo names go away, and both be replaced by Chevelle? Maybe even a Chevelle wagon too?
  20. I don't blame Pontiac for sticking with the L67, as I would choose it over the 3.7 also. While it may be down 10hp, it would destroy it in torque #s, and is so easy to mod, though that probably isn't important to most people.
  21. In your opinion, do you think the Japanese automakers numbers would be as high as they are, and increasing, if their plants were unionized, and do you think the domestics numbers would be dropping if the plants were not unionized?
  22. Wait, so only Toyota owners don't do timely oil changes, while owners of every other car make does them on time? No? Then why doesn't every other car make have a problem with sludging? Tell me how that can be Toyota specific. There must have been some extreme temperatures to break down the oil, which would be a design fault, and not just taking too long to do an oil change.
  23. What would make it not worth the price? You can always go by a 4cyl Accord instead, or maybe a 300 with the 2.7L, or pay $5000 more and get a 6cyl 350Z. $24,000 is a great price for the base V8 Camaro.
  24. How about.........Thats ugly. I'd take a magnum any day over that horrible stretched camaro.
  25. If anyone has ever been to Carvel, their ice cream cake has no cake in it, just chocolate ice cream on bottom, cookie crumbs on top of that, then a sort of vanilla half ice cream half frosting on top, with regular frosting on top of that. Thats the way it should be. I'd say it is closer to just ice cream than it is to cake.
