Or we can ask Costco to get a franchise license with the MFG and then sell direct on each order and have no on hand inventory. Or maybe tie it into a dealer who is responsible for taking delivery, prepping the auto and all follow up with the customer including selling Quality extended warranties to them. Lots of options and I am sure more than one way to skin this cat!!!

1st Avenue

To me, if it has a liftgate, it is a hatchback, a tailgate is a wagon.

I do see that it has been poorly repainted from it's orignal baby poop yellowish/green color. You can tell it in the engine bay and on the drivers side door where they got the red on the interior plastic panel. This is still a great car, but really need a proper strip down and repaint.

I have very awesome memories of my first comet and how hot it was to drive with the v8. I Vote Cheers also!!! This is an awesome find.

But will they fix that Ugly Buck Tooth Grill????? The Acura current Grill has got to be one of the worst in the auto industry. It reminds me of a beaver with a single big tooth to cut down all the trees.

AWD would be cool with a Hi output Diesel. I also agree Mini Drivers are a Unique Bunch.

Stupid stupid stupid, GM should just standardize the contract with UAW for all plants. On top of this, with the amount of ownership the UAW has in GM, they need to wake up to the fact that a profitable GM is good for the UAW and that the old days of crazy wages and benefits are over to be a competative force in the global economy. UAW seems to have not grown up yet.

True they have an automotive program, but in this case, if the dealerships are not wanting to sell the cars, then sell them direct via Costco at a set price and then you just pay for the shipment cost of having the car delivered via truck to your home. GM could and Costco make a fortune this way.

Hyperv6 I do hope you are right and that GM smackes the dealerships to get them inline with selling this technology as I think it has a ton of potential, far better than electric only.

Bet they end up with another Chinese company as any other company would be crazy since volvo will now want to steal all engineering they can get. Seems to be a country moto. Do not invent what you can steal from others. Your friendly China company.

I am one that loves the monotone color. I hate all the chrome bling on high end models and would love to be able to buy my SUV with blacked out windows and all the exterior of the vehicle being the same color. I believe this will be a great hit for many who also do not like the bling look on the high end models. Go Jeep, Black Mystic is my thought of a name.

Bridge

Let's not forget the dealers who still mark up these Volts way over MSRP and then use the 6K rebate to justify getting it at MSRP price. GM needs to make it a requirement for all Chevy Dealers to have at least 3 Volts on their lots, 1 for demo driving and 2 for sale and have it at a set price, 5% mark up and that is it. The No Dicker Sticker for VOLT!!! If the dealers do not want to work with GM, then GM should go with Costco and move a tone of them at a 5% markup.

WOW, Glad someone woke up after a long trip on RocketMan and realized little Coffins like this are NOT needed in the world. Plus it is butt Ugly!!!

Done right this would be a big boost to GM as they could have this across the family with each family member getting their own unique looking car.

The VOLT is an Awesome car. I hope it does take off and get a long life. I do have to wonder and Question the Chevy Dealerships. Especially those that are not willing to take more so they are available for sale. Is this because you are still trying to sell above the MSRP price? A chevy dealership here in Seattle has two VOLTS, one is the demo drive and the other is available for sale, yet they have a 10K markup over the MSRP price on the car. Again the idiot dealerships are trying to rip off the buyers rather than sell as much as possible for a decent 5% gross profit. GM, Let Costco Sell these cars for you and you will have more sales than you can produce. The dealerships do not seem to be wanting to move metal. Very sad day for the dealerships.

If that is how it started as I had no audio when I watched it then it would explain allot of why so many auto's that I have seen handle 6" plus of snow here in seattle ended up being worthless. Very true of what has already been posted, everyone was driving way too fast.

Wait and see attitude is the proper course to follow right now.
