Newest Prius with Toyota's All New V8 being used for racing. Talk about sounding like a Corvette now! I approve of this!

Seems according to a recent visit to their HQ and a sitdown, RJ said they would have a 3rd auto. https://www.autoblog.com/2018/12/05/rivian-future-sales-charging-network/ @A Horse With No Name @Robert Hall @ccap41 To Quote: Scaringe made mention of a third Rivian coming our way too. He said it will be "smaller in wheelbase than what you see here in LA, but think of it as Rivian's interpretation of what you would see as a rally car. With a lot of ground clearance." Rivian didn't confirm or deny the report, but we did receive confirmation of a third car in the works. An electric rally car sure sounds cool

Wife has spent time reading the web site for Rivian and while not a total fan of the Emoji front end, loves the rest of the truck especially the storage section with the doors acting as steps to also get into the bed. She loves the interior and says she would be happy with this as a daily driver and for allowing her to do her gardening and runs to Home Depot. Between now and production, be interesting to see what else comes out.

GM News: Ms. Barra Goes to Washington
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
So true, companies have to respond to stay alive and while people might not like it, it is not the governments role to force companies to keep jobs alive. It is their role to diversify the economy and look at ways to improve the overall quality of life in the city that they are responsible for with the basics of security, fire, medical, roads, schools. Make it a inviting multi-cultural place that is desirable to live with benefits for companies to setup shop and you can forget worrying about one company destroying the city. I remember when Seattle in the mid 70's had signs all over that said, last person leaving turn off the lights during the big downturn in Boeing and Weyerhaeuser lumber. Pretty much until Microsoft opened and John Fluke expanded, those two companies is what most worked for and when the jobs / layoffs started, plenty of people lost homes and were scared about providing for their families. I can understand and relate to it as my dad went through it and I remember my mom going to the food bank. It was rough, but we survived and dad started his own business repairing cars much cheaper than the local mechanics charged.- 27 replies

Maybe you can get the Taurus of the future from Total Recall

Totally agree with you, GM made some awesome drum brakes on their massive size cars in the 60's and 70's. Driving the big Olds 98 station wagons and slamming on the brakes always had a confidence that I would stop. Try driving fast on an Asian auto from that time and slamming on the brakes and sliding away you go. Sexy as hell!

Jeep News: Why No Turbo-Four in the Jeep Gladiator?!
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Jeep
FCA 48V hybrid system assists the ICE power train with much added instant torque and reduced fuel consumption. You can run it on pure gas and still get the electric benefits, you just would not have pure electric range till the battery was charged up.- 22 replies

Thanks for Posting it @A Horse With No Name This is an outstanding 6 month review by this guy and he clearly hits on many of the points we debate here about EV or ICE, Range anxiety, etc. Have to say he makes some very valid points for EV ownership and also why you would not want it. Reality, EVs are expensive yet he also points out the price is the same 7 years later but double the performance, battery range, etc. Especially compared to a maxed out base Honda civic priced the same the Leaf is far more fun to drive and better feature functions over the civic. Have to say, I think this is a very balanced and decent review.
