I would totally disagree with you. Escalades have always been very quiet and the cadillac Magneride system makes it very smooth and comfy. The pacifica is very quiet but the Escalade is another level all together. Plenty of miles driving Escalades to know that they are a very comfortable roomy roadtrip auto. Here you are wrong, I believe the interior measurements and then the butt in the seat test and in this case, measurements are true for the Pacifica being bigger interior than the Escalade in the second and 3rd row. Front row, Minivans have always suffered as you have that bullet nose along with the interior design of the front footwell area that is cramped compared to a full size SUV. Especially for a large guy, I will say that the comfort of an Escalade in the front driving is a big difference over a Minivan. Pacifica is the roomiest by far in comparison to Honda or Toyota and especially Kia. Yet with that said, for me when sitting on the seat in the drivers position or the front passengers position, I do not feel as comfortable / leg roomy as I do in an Escalade. My opinion on that, but that is how I feel when I sit in one compared to another.

Ram News: The Problematic Launch of the 2019 Ram 1500
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
I have to think that the lack of modern powertrains along with a mild 48 volt hybrid system that is vaporware right now is hurting them more than helping them. They should have held off till they had the hybrid system worked out before talking about it. -
I hear ya, will have to go out and test drive a pacifica as the last minivan I was in was fine for commuting but would not want to be in it for 18hrs. This could also have to do with the sto n go seats as they are very thin and hard IMHO. I think even the current Escalade has lost some comfort in going to the thin seats.

Growing up in a large family with vans and station wagons I get where you are coming from. But then as times change and one has ability to buy a luxury SUV for road trips, one's view changes. They both have their place, my life style and what I do I could not do in a minivan. Yet with my full size SUV's I can go places that I prefer and that includes off road. Doing 3-4 yearly road trips, I will take my Escalade on an 18hr road trip over a Pacifica or any other van, minivan. Comfort cannot be beat to me.

Cool video at GM of their 3D printing research they are doing to reduce weight in their new auto's. http://www.thedrive.com/tech/20686/gm-explains-its-plans-for-3d-printing-better-car-parts?iid=sr-link1 New Testing shows even Euro 6 diesel emissions are still not being met especially by German Diesel auto's which are polluting 6 times more than the spec they are supposed to meet. http://www.thedrive.com/news/21407/new-emissions-tests-show-almost-all-new-diesels-still-dirty This brings up the question, is it time to kill Diesel all together?

Honda and GM have partnered up to develop the next generation of high density extreme fast charging battery packs. Honda and GM have already partnered on Hydrogen cell and motor technology development. Now they sign a multiyear agreement to develop batteries for the next generation of auto's. To quote the news release: "General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM) and Honda (NYSE: HMC) announced an agreement for new advanced chemistry battery components, including the cell and module, to accelerate both companies’ plans for all-electric vehicles. The next-generation battery will deliver higher energy density, smaller packaging and faster charging capabilities for both companies’ future products, mainly for the North American market." http://www.gm.com/mol/m-2018-jun-0607-gm-honda-battery-cell.html

Depends on how big the kids are. Tall kids I think would enjoy the slade better. At least mine did. My wife thought that at first till she drove one and found it to drive as easy as a car with a much better view of the road ahead while driving. Now she cannot think of ever being in a car again as they sit too low to the ground. I get it though, the Pacifica is a nice sweet ride, roomy and handles a family very well. Best out of the minivans I think.

Not according to the other web sites. Seems to be a real product they are doing for select markets.

suzuki jimny 2019 Suzuki Jimny, Wrangler Knock off?
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Suzuki
If so, then a much better version as a mini wrangler than a Renegade. Either Way, I think it would sell well here if they ever decided to come back to the US market. -

Being this is a TRD offroad, I would still expect this kind of treatment. Looks way better than chrome.- 6 replies

https://www.motor1.com/news/244399/2019-suzuki-jimny-rendering/ Motor 1 has this story saying Suzuki is coping a page from Jeep with the new 2019 Suzuki Jimny. I have to say they might be right based on the renderings to go against the mule pictures. Here is Motor 1 rending they posted. Here is a You Tube Video of the 2019 Jimny road testing. https://www.motor1.com/news/183037/2018-suzuki-jimny-spy-video/

https://www.motor1.com/photo/3040654/six-wheeler-vw-amarok/ Motor 1 is reporting that a 6 wheel heavy duty Amarok is coming. The comments now tend to cover VW version for taking on the 6 wheel G Wagon. LOL Interesting, wonder if it would ever show in America?

Quick Drive: 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road Double Cab
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Reviews
Guess with being a TRD, I would want all Monochromatic or use black chrome for a better off road look and darkness for disappearing in the woods. Think of this with black chrome replacing traditional chrome and black chrome rims or powder coated rims. That would be perfect IMHO.- 6 replies

https://www.motor1.com/features/244333/seven-luxury-camper-vans-concepts/ Funny short read but the short narrative is that Luxury car makers building camper vans would be 600hp v12 versions that looked better than VW camper van. You can read all the details on the story above, but I posted the pics here for comment.
