The fact is that the investigation by various governments will cause them to look at everyone. Everyone will be looked at and if done properly, be subjected to the same reviews and if laws are broken, then fined and forced to change. Over all, we are seeing more and more auto companies give up their diesel auto's, the future will be ICE Gas, Hybrids and the start of a complete move to EV's. Regardless of the idiots in DC, no matter what Potus and his administration think they will do, the companies are global now and will have to think globally in regards to building products. No more can they afford multiple standards.

Thanks,I have great expectations for all EV's for GM as they expand their portfolio. The EV auto's like the BOLT have plenty of room, just need a better interior color as the dash with the white V killed it for my wife who just could not get over to her how ugly the dash was. I am honestly surprised they think the white V contrast is desirable. I really hope most people can look at how awesome the BOLT is and buy it. Pulls like a frieght train, handles crisply and over all is a blast to drive.

True and the reason that the facts of the FCA test and the University test need to be made clear. From a College test stand point, you SHOULD reproduce the exact test done and then go higher and lower in the test range to see just how much things change and how the EPA expects it to change. Either way you look at this, it is not positive for Diesel and will end up pushing us towards the EV world.

That is interesting history. So a CTS Diesel it could have been before BK stuck. Glad it struck as GM is way better now than it was if they just continued to try and creep along.

So then what your also saying is the Benz and BMW could cut most of the cars and just keep 4 CUV's and they would be fine then. Benze, C, E and S in Coupe, 4 door sedan and performance version along with a station wagon and AMG versions. Each lineup with a proper EV too. Then just have the GLC, GLE and GLS and drop all the GLA, CLA and G out of date wagon low selling models. BMW 3, 5 & 7 series for coupe, 4 door sedan and performance with a station wagon and then their X3, X5 and X7 CUVs and drop all the rest of the wasteful low selling models.

In my alternate reality of working in the tech industry, it would be that none of the startups I worked for worked out in any way and I never had the bonuses to put down on the new rides I bought. As such, I still would have ended up in the same full size SUV's but probably 2-3 years old instead. For me, while I love the cars, especially the performance side, my limitation will always be my size. 280lbs of muscle with 6'6" tall frame that requires an auto much bigger than most need. So might be used, but still full size. Nothing like the Sales Manager here where I work that is only 5'1" tall and Drives a Hummer H2. Clearly little man issues. LOL

Interesting, I do think the law firms are now chasing every possible options for a lawsuit of diesel emission failure. No matter what, I think FCA is in trouble as I do wonder about their diesel claims.

What car was this to begin with? Tail lights tell me a couple options but the rest is so shaved and smoothed that you could not really tell.

I can understand where you are coming from and in my mind, the more I think about it, the more I am sure Cadillac needs an XT3/4 which ever number you want to use and an XT7 but that is it. I would not build any other CUV's. I think Cadillac could do just fine with 3 CUV's that start out in basic form and go all the way up to a V edition for every product model. GMC needs to build on the Hummer Off Road capability and can get away with a Sub Compact that is a solid wrangler competitor. I truly think you can do this with a CUV.. Buick is fine with their existing CUV product line I think.

I will agree with you SMK that Cadillac could easily have an XT4 and maybe an XT3, but nothing smaller is really needed. Leave the subcompact market to Buick. For sure an XT7 is needed. I also agree with you that GMC should have a Subcompact model below the Terrain that is a very butch offroad capable CUV. Something with the off road capability of the late Hummer line.

I like the Avenir package, but whish they would offer it in a Black edition. Being Black Chrome. Are you sure? Enclave has 3 rows of seats compared to the XT5 2 rows of seats. Also according to other news reports, GM seems to have confirmed that the 2018 Enclave is built on the same platform as the new Chevrolet Traverse and the upcoming 3 row Cadillac XT7. How does one think this BMW 6 series GT is better than the CT6 BMW 6 Series Cadillac CT6

Interior is so dated, reminds me of the 90's, no make it the 80's dash. Exterior, also so 1990's dated. Other than the headlights, this car looks like it is already in year 4 or 5 of the model year and needs a major refresh.

No problem with that, I can totally understand this and sometimes, an almost identical tool from another place just offers the one thing that American manufacturing does not. Gotta stay open to the world to incorporate the best of everyone.
