  1. Pontiac is not Oldsmobile they have way to much behind them. Trust I would bet they are working on a new G6 and we don't know about it. Olds had more over lapping with Buick than Pontiac does with Chevrolet trust me. Actually Pontiac is a brand that can be easy to justify because of the Solstice and G8 two vehicles Chevrolet offers nothing similar too. (At least not currently.) It could be the end for Pontiac after all but I highly doubt it.
  2. I think the same thing, with gas hovering around 3 bucks a gallon in my area, I still keep seeing new Turd's, Tahoes, Suburbans, Yukons and GM trucks. It seems to me the same way. Someone asked why I got the Bonneville when I could have gotten a more fuel efficent (non barge) I said is it your money?
  3. Lets put it this way were getting the G8 and if it gets moved to NA it does. If not oh well that doesn't change its smashing good looks or its excellent driving dynamics.
  4. I don't think you currently can get an LTZ with a 4 cylinder! (At least not currently!)
  5. I think the G8 should be called Bonneville. But I disgress. The G6 should be called the Grand Prix and the G5 should be called a Sunbird!
  6. BIG PONTIAC, send him that and make that asswhole eat his words! Sweet car tho!
  7. I agree with the man above. Will all 4 cylinders come with the 6spd. auto or just LTZ? And when are they coming? I thought I heard spring orginally.
  8. Sweet Viper looks like you just got crushed.
  9. Well I don't know as much as some of the truckers around here do. But basically I can say my uncle has a 2000 Dodge Ram 5.9 Magnum V8 and 4.10:1 and it is bad on gas 12mpg hwy. and 8 is town. I would go with the 3.73:1 just for the gas bill savings. I don't think getting the 3.73 is sacraficing what the truck is made to do unless you plan to tow a huge trailer or boat and need the extra towing ability. It also depends on what trim, 2wd or 4wd and bed/cab config you go with. Please post those details to help give us a better idea. The economy gap will be noticable not huge but you would be able to tell, with the 4.10:1 you will have more off the line giddy up especially with the new 6 speed automatic with the gas and Duramax motors. I haven't driven a new GMT-HD yet but I bet with 6 foward cogs they are fast and that will aid in fuel economy. It really all depends on what you want to do, if you just wanna load the bed up go with a 3.73 and tow a trailer within the towing limits if you towing all the time and towing huge loads opt for the 4.10:1. Good Luck and happy buying. Those trucks are VERY tough and refined, also the Vortec 6.0L with 352hp (est) in HD trucks doesn't come with AFM (Active Fuel Managment) at least I don't think so. Once again happy buyign and wait for a real trucker to give his 5 cents. (I own 3 GM cars! Not trucks lol.) Post photos of it when you get it! LASTLY WELCOME TO CHEARS AND GEARS! You have come to the right place!
  10. I hope you have good luck and congrats. I love the color!
  11. Looks like a pile of $h! to me, bloated and ugly. The first generation was 100X better. I hope the sales suffer because of this, not that anyone bought the first gen anyway.
  12. Sounds like I had the most forigen cars at my table!
  13. Aww fudge thats okay they will put in online at some point. The HUD is no big deal to me, if I had the money in 2005 for a GXP I would have MADE sure it didn't have the weight adding toy. I like the new G8's interior alot but must say the 2004-2008 GP interior wasn't that bad even in GXP trim.
  14. I have proof. Its in the Jan 2008 issue I just got it today. I couldn't be any happier! GM is turning it around believe it or not, just give them time Toyota will eventually feel the burn. It will just take a few years.
  15. That was intresting, I just saw another 2LT today with 4 cylinder in silver on the road. I have seen none dealers lots yet tho. All I can figure is around here there selling as soon as they get 'em.
  16. They better do something!
  17. I love the stick! That is what makes the car, is DI or just VVT? Enjoy it you lucky a$$!
  18. If you haven't trust me you will.
  19. That is good to here can you scan the article and post it here please?
  20. Sounds like most familys around here have more sense than mine. The other side of the family is all Ford and the rest of my family that I didn't eat with almost all have GM.
  21. My father loves the wagon (Safari) and not the Ute he says it should be a GMC.
  22. To far away to consider but a sweet car!
  23. Introduction Why do I have to go here...? To vent so listen up... My family (4 of us including me wife and two childern) my younger sister (5 including my sister her hubby, son *son's soon to be wife and there youngest) and my youngest sister all had thankgiving at my middle sisters house in Millwaukee. It was real nice until cars came on the topic. I own my 3 cars in my sig, my Impala, Bonneville and the Grand Prix, my middle sister owns a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 (5.9 V8) SLT loaded, 2000 Lexus RX300 AWD (loaded) her son a 2001 Nissan Xterra and her son to be wife and he a 2007 Camry LE (4cyl) the last daughter a 2003 Toyota Rav-4 L with all the toys. Then my baby sister owns a 2004 Impala Sedan stripped in silver. Guess who picked that out? :AH-HA_wink: To make it even better my middle sisters long time family friend works at large Toyota dealer managing the used cars on the lot 2 out of 3 are Toyota's. (Nice guy, crummy cars!) _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The Meat Well my youngest sister whom I talk to almost weekly and see almost always every other week, forgot (right) to tell me Mr. Car that they had just purchased (my nephew and his soon to be bride bought a vanila colored Camry LE). Knowing I would eat my words being the kind lady she is looking for entertainment, let me get into it. Needless to say I did. I hit it whose new white Camry is that my lovable nephew pipes up ours, (the friend got a good deal on it) he quickly covered. I said I hope you have good luck with it and said did you consider an Accord or Tarurs or anything. No just wanted a nice Camry with low miles this one only had 2.5K on it was 4 grand off of sticker. A good deal I said. (Right) Well I bit my lips and soon found out that it was a divided table. My sister and brother in law don't care about cars but lean towards imports, my sister who used to like domestics is trying to decide and my wife and I buy American all the time. Intresting was what happened the rest of the time. I got the typically low resale value and faught back with my economics side, but alas I still lost no reason to keep trying... All I know is this an American car is something I can still buy that is owned by a US company where the profits go back to them, so guess what I will keep buying them as long as they or I am around. So what do you people make of this talk?
  24. In my little town of 60,000 I have seen 3 already. Red Jewel LTZ V6 (everything), Black LT1 (moonroof and chrome wheels) and a Gold LT2 4cyl (everything)! There are sharp I followed the black one for 5 miles! I like them more and more each time I see one.
  25. They can't give it buck teeth there isn't enough room!
