So you don't think we won't get any V8 powered Cadillac's aside of the V-Series? So the DTS replacement will get a V8 of some sort even if it is an OHV? Is so that is a relief... It is stupid still, I about $h! my pants and swore up a storm.
-
I guess do you think they will really go through with it?
-
I sure hope sixty eight is right... So we will be getting a RWD V6 powered fullsize Cadillac. That isn't right.
-
So no replacement, if they do this I am going too... The XLR would be dead with a V8, what is the new DTS/STS going to have a V6, sorry in that class it is not enough and yes it needs OHC's! This is freaking bad news, what ever f*cker pardon my French came up with this one deserves a slap. This would be a very ignorant move on GM's car not to offer a high feature V8 with VVT and about 5.0L DOHC something or other. Are we sure about this? Or not? My guess is CAFE kiled it... Those tree hugging bastards.
-
Good idea, I would love too see Equinox/Torrent/Vue ads, Cobalt/G5 ads, HHR/Vibe ads, E85 ads for Impala/Tahoe/Silverado/Sierra/Yukon ads, CTS, Malibu, G8 ads and the new PontiacIsCar ads would be pretty sweet I'd say too. They do have some newer appealing vehicles thankfully.

When do we get to see the pre-production Camaro? Detriot? Chicago?
-
So then I ask... Who gets the title? Did Chevy have a website back in 97 when the Geo's were around... And were they on it? Hmmmm. I had no internet then so I have no idea.

God Chevy better win. Geo was always apart of Chevrolet. You might as well count Pontiac, GM is right.

Lutz: GM to rethink product plans if 35 mpg CAFE passes
gm4life replied to Oracle of Delphi's topic in General Motors
That would kill me. All my cars are under 10 seconds thank god. Even my GP is. I am not going back to that day. I have driven those cars too. (I am 50!) But they were so slow! -
Lutz: GM to rethink product plans if 35 mpg CAFE passes

I hate to rant but I will anyways. This mister "Buy a Car and Get a Check" is really getting on my nerves, he needs to check his worthless a$$ outta here. Anyways now that is off my back... Yeah I know we have a small portion of the population and use more than are fair share of resources. *Do I really care?* Nope. Other countries aren't economically developed and we are one the lucky ones that are. So tough. What is the matter with these tree huggers in our goverment who want to shove another freaking mandate up our asses. This is freaking nuts. And why are we going after the automotive industry? Thats right because there easy to blame and cars use the most fossil fuel right? Not. What about changing we use to heat our homes or run our stoves? I see no reason for even a gas tax nor cafe regulations. The more things the goverment touches the more that gets screwed up. What in the hell is the matter with people? This is not the goverments problems, we actually have real problems in the world. Like world hunger (this is Christian in me coming out), or poverty, and to continue to fight terrison. Those my friends are real problems, what about social security? Or how about health care, and yet we find time to slap the auto industry on the hand. Not only will GM be screwed and different even the beloved enviormental Toyota (the greatest car maker ever will be screwed too) even Honda with no true truck will be hurting. Not only is 35mpg too high but to lofty of a goal at this point in time. (Of course anything can be done with money...) The cost of vehicle performance scares me too, no longer a 0-60 time of 8 or 9 seconds will be normal it will be hovering around 10 or 12. This bill must be stopped, for ever automaker and for the sake of common sense. When did the goverment regulating something ever do us any good. Like my grandfater would say the more you can keep the goverment out of your business the better off the common man is. Is there a website or group we can join? Or someone I can write a bitchy letter at? Someones head is going to get bit off real soon. -
I always sorta wanted an SS 454 they only had 250hp tho and for the first year a turbo 400 and a carb!
-
So it is just in the Tahoe, that is very odd. Not in the Suburban?

My uncle and his family will no doubt be very happy with it, I just helped them with the remote start tonight!

Hello all this is Chris, gm4lifes (John) son Chris. I went car shopping with my dads brother because my father was busy. Every year it happens the family gathers for Christmas and this year my uncle asked me for some help car shopping. He knows I enjoy my cars and know alot about them so we set a date. Went and got a price on a Camry first and then drove it, didn't like it, then got in an Accord didn't like it. He came to his favorite the new 2008 Malibu LTZ V6 and loved it, and got the price of 25,100.00 after all rebates and was satisfied until the he said what about an Impala. I had orginally asked my uncle to consider one but didn't. He started number crunching the rebate from Chevy, the GM card points, the GMAC smart buy program and his dealer discount. The 28,895.00 Impala LTZ was down to 20,300! My uncle took the plung and bought it on the spot but not before we picked up his wife so she could pick a color! Then a color was picked and we drove home a in precision red 2008 Impala LTZ with every option and black leather interior with silver trim. I was very happy that they went with a domestic car and a Chevrolet no less. I got a chance to drive the Impala LTZ and trust me it makes my Impala look like it is a 23 year old Ford Escort, the 3.9 had plenty of buck and it had a great Bose sound system with nice 6 disc cd changer. I was so impressed with the handling of it I commented gosh this car tracks very well. (Trust me I don't dish out compliments real easy.) My uncle said he couldn't touch a Camry with everything on it (XLE V6) for anything close to what he paid and I said no sir your. Thats American. I was very happy with what my uncle and aunt purchased and my sister who has Toyota's rolled her eyes. Go figure, as for my father he was very pleased they choice a large GM FWD car with a V6, and a large back seat.

Debate not yet settled, but Lutz thinks Impala will be FWD
gm4life replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chevrolet
It might not to be a bad idea, seriously I would love to see a RWD Impala because I know the sucess of a Malibu. Road in one on Wednesday and loved it. If they make a FWD Impala it would be for volume only making everything RWD in the large size is very silly. I think they should make the Impala FWD, and do a RWD Caprice. They should take a G-body and work on redesigning it that way you can use it for the next generation Lucerne (that we all think will be RWD... right) and the next DTS. Those cars have to much market share to take them away. Although I could like RWD versions of both as long as the cost stays the same, but if they want sales and they do make 'em FWD. Volume speaks. I think the STS/SLS, CTS would be great cars for Cadillac buyers wanting RWD sedans, as for Buick were getting a FWD Regal Ep. II and should get a RWD Camaro based GNX with a bored out 3.6 to a 3.8L DI with twin turbos and six speed automatics. And in addition to a FWD Lucerne with a 6spd. automatic they should have a RWD Park Avenue. -
Sweet pics?
-
If it will be what they say I have no doubt.
-
Opps forgot the ugly new Highlander, I can't wait to see the next Sienna, oh man Priv what ever it was called here we come and the Prius's are just werid. Have the products got less attractive or is it really just me being a Toyota hater? (I think they have!)
-
This is excellent news I fear they will still sell like mad but maybe not like the once did. This car is one ugly bastard child for sure, and I am very under-impressed with it along with the 2005 Avalon, 2006 FJ, 2007 Camry (especially), 2007 Turd (especially), 2008 Sequoia (especially), and now the Matrix and this really ugly Corolla. I think they are becoming the GM in the 1980's. Not caring and still selling, but hey I am so glad they screwed up another one, I actually sorta liked the old one, but this thing is ugly is everyone on the design team blind? Someone said they are making GM look a lil better each day, they really are. The only "new" Toyota I like is the Rav. Way to go... I wish you slow sales in the new year Toyota. And to every other brand I wish a great new year. (Especially my GM and fellow domestics!)
-
I didn't know you could get a 6.2 in a Tahoe, isn't that impossible maybe not if you special order.
-
Great choice the 3.5 has plenty of giddy-up and there a sharp car. Wanna post photos? Good luck and many happy miles from another proud Pontiac owner!
-
I doubt they will do it. If they do it will not be called a Corvette it'd be a Cadillac Cien I am sure. A mid-engine car is fun to drive my friend had a turbo MR2 but not what GM needs now. They should stick the money else-where, hmmm anyone recall the now dead NSX?
