  1. I love those cartoon chics.. I am in love with "Laurafrom Dr. Katz"...so you can take it for what it's worth..yes I am a weirdo
  2. But I want to over think!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And under-achive...
  3. You Rule dude!!!!!!!! BOF lover here, and particularly HEARSES!!! Had a 65 impala, 73 hearse and 79 hearse 425 with factory posi....Your love of that style of impalas is shared by a demolition derby champ I saw on discovery channel (or hist....) He likes them becase they hold up the best. Before that I believe his favorite was a Ford Wagon...Galaxy I believe. He owns a junk yard and has a garage full of 72-75? impalas just waiting to kick butt!!!!! :CG_all:
  4. That makes sense as you can see a bit of impala in the rear quarters. At least I can.
  5. I heard from many people that the Buick WildCat engine was a 300ci, all alluminum V8 and was sold to jeep and chopped to make the 3800 for some time and bought back by GM. Can someone tell me if this is not true or if the WildCat engine and WildCat car were different entities?
  6. I used to be married. I know how bad these woman drive and how even worse they lie about it. I was in the yard one day and noticed my 87' caprice (not like I gave a crap...rust bucket) had a dented front fender with bright yellow paint on it. I asked the wife.."Did you hit one of those Yellow barriers at the convinient store?". She told me she did not. I told her I didn't care...it's not like she hit some-one else and it would cost me any money. Again she denied it. So I guess a TAXI side swiped the right front fender. She didn't even think of that as an excuse...I had to make it up for her as not to get the cold shoulder in bed that night...which I got anyway (as usual) and that's why I'm happily divorced now.....Love jmore
  7. Damn you!!!!! Damn you all to Hellll!!!!!!!!................................yours truly...Charlton Heston
  8. Indeed..In fact..the last few years we built the 4.3 at Tonawanda Engine...we used the Roller style timing chain from the marine engines on all 4.3's. It will not streach or break as easy as the standard timing chain on the trucks. If you bought one of the 4.3's built since 2000 you will prabably never have to replace the timing chain.
  9. Pretty much...but with the better qualit of today...and of course not BOF. As much as I prefered those to the unibodies of the 70's.
  10. I hate anti-union idiots. They seem to forget that even if they're not union, they have beneftted from the unions stand. Minimum wage? Overtime pay? Vacation pay? etc. etc. The government didn't give you scabs this stuff...workers were beaten and thretened for standing up to thugs (Pinkerton Security 1930's, Police who shot protestors in the sweat shops early 1900's etc.) for it. So go move to China and sew some shirts and underwear for hanes...I won't buy them...I buy "Fruit of the Loom" made in Kentucky. Quit blaming the middle class for deserving a decent life and hold those greedy traiters who "off shore" our jobs (not because they can't make a proffit off American Labor...but because they can make a HUGE PROFFIT on foreign labor) for your woes. Now put on your Walmart Smocks and get to work, your are running late and might be terminated for your insolance!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Yes, but when it's time to pay the Piper (you know, the defficite that Clinton erased from Reagan and Bush Sr.? and Bush Jr. has brought back even larger?) then we''ll see how the economy is doing. But by then, another democrat will be in office and have the job of cleaning a republicans mess up all over again and won't get the credit. He/She will have to raise taxes to pay for the last idiots reckless spending and everyone will be madd at him/her. And BTW...I bet Rick Wagoner wishes a democrat was in office right now...maybe they would have bailed out delphi 'cause they care about the USA and not Chinese Lobbyists or the Saudi's who bombed us.
  12. Your Mom goes to college!!! :P
  13. What would be so bad about a solid axle rear end? Muscle Cars were built for drag racing in the first place. If we're talking about Chevelle's and Camero's...why should they handle like a sports car? GM already has a few...Corvette, Solstice and GTO. Many truck owners today are truck owners because GM did away with the BOF RWD cars. I don't here many Truck Owners (except "little girls") complaining about the solid axle rear end being too stiff? I want a car with some horepower and muscle....not a caddilac with a set of 50's on the back. And if you are going to race it, the fewer parts to break the better. Give me a solid locking diff. rearend any day down the stright away. If you want a muscle Car to handle like a vette...than you don't want a Muscle Car. Maybe that's why the Stang is selling like hot cakes and the GTO (aside from it's ugly styling ) isn't...'cause the GTO is not a Muscle Car.
  14. Sorry I meant 4.6l V6...not V8
  15. So it's invisible...like woder-womans jet!!!!!!!!!Aha....great idea
  16. I don't understand why GM didn't change the sheet metal between the 900 models. They did it for the 360's. It really helped the SAAB stand apart from the TrailBlazer. Their was a time that GM had completely differen't sheet metal from model to model and even year to year. And this was a time of less technology and less flexibilty. It's not that I don't like the Caddy, but that one atleast should have stood out from the others...and a different grill just don't cut it for me.
  17. I believe there is a very strong chance that the Spring Hill Saturn plant is retooling for Zeta as it's set up to be very flexible like that of the Holden plants down under. And since Lambda is being built in Michigan it makes sense for the 08' or so timeline. It's capacity is 400,000 vehicles per year so there could even be other platforms possible. Another possibilty could be the Delaware plant (kappa) which is only at 30% (or so) capacity, but I believe they will just add more kappas in the future....Please bring the Nomad on-line for US GM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It would beat the crap out of the current mini. :CG_all:
  18. I wonder if GM and Ford will ever merge? They could probably do it leagally now that their combined market share is less than 50%(in the US anyway). Atleast they are working together on new technolgy like the 6 speed FWD transmisions. A mustang with the LS7...oooohh :P
  19. Don't tell me, the screw was a furniture leg fastener. I got 2 flats from those in my lifetime of driving...real wide screw head right? Blame the garbage man.........
  20. Why is it that GM can change the sheet metal betwwen the GMT 360's, but not on the latest GMT 900's. They're doing the same thing they've always done....putting a different sticker (and grill and taillights) on the same body. I can understand (to some extent) GMC and Chevy, but I really had high hopes of Caddy standing out from the pack this time. I'm not impressed with the syling at all. In the old days, when they had less technollgy (50's 60's) They would change sheet metal every year and have differen't sheet metal for every brand. It was alot harder to tell which cars shared which platforms. Cookie Cutter Cookie Cutter Cookie Cutter Cookie Cutter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Very cool idea, I hope it was GM's. I love when they are the first at something (especially when it's a cost saving measure). I wish they would bring back the old "regular rims" that were painted to match the body color with the police car hubcaps....but that's just me
  22. GM has esssentially only a hanful of "different" engines. Think "Engine Family". Small block v8/(4.3 v6 built on the same old line as the 350 side by side for yrs.), Big block v8, Ecotech (just different displacements but mostly same parts) 60 degree pushrod family (3.5, 3.9 which replace 3.1, 3.4) high feature v6 Family (caddie 2.8, 3.6) NorthStar, and Atlas Family (I4,I5,I6) 4 and 5 built on same assembly line at Tonawanda, and soon 5 and 6 built on same line at Flint. And I believe all the Vette Engines are built on the same line in St. Cathrines as the small block truck engines and impalla and mony v8's. Only odd ball left is 3800....maybe they will bore and stroke that to replace the 4.3 as it is a 90 degree v6 (which btw was also a chop of the old 60's buick "Wild Cat" engine) So making a replacement for the 4.3 may not reqire alot of $, just go with bigger 3800, or chop one of the new V8's. I count 6 differen't engine families...........not that many when you consider 8 GM brands....Uh Oh...7 forgot about duramax....this is USA only that I'm refering to.
  23. Former hearse owner here. Love 'em. First one was a 73 S&S "Queen Victoria" 501ci (472 boarde and stroked from factory) rough body though. Last one was a 79' S&S with a champaigne paint job and 3 sided scons style limo side lights. It had a 425ci with 750cfm carb, factory possi, 400 turbo. I limo tinted the back windows and bolted the baby seats to the floor right behind the seperation glass....came in handy for the long rides and cranky kids....just slide the glass shut and turn up the cd player!!!!!!!!!!!!!hee hee
  24. GM is a differen't and much older animal(in the US). There are still many brand loyalists out there (albeit mostly older folks as far as Olds goes). But in Canada Pontiac is a stronger player than Chevy atleast as far as the Cobolt (Cavelier) and the (Pursuit) Sunfire. That's why GM chose the Pursuit over the Cobalt. I hope GM saves Buick, and I still believe killing Olds was a mistake. It definately would have made more sense to keep Olds here than Saab. They should have just used Saab in Europe where their market was very good. When they killed olds it's output was 300,000 units per year. I don't believe Saab is near that in the US...but I could be wrong, if so feel free to corect me on this. In any event many of those 300,000 customers did not go to Buick as a backup....interesting.........The Name of the brand does make a difference to many people even when it's just a rebadge!!!
