1. All GM Dealers need to be haggle free, but they learn too late. They could brag about that. As like the rest of USA "The Stupid People are the Majority".
2. does anything weigh under 3000 in this segment anymore ? [post="49338"][/post]
Not even my ex-wife :P
3. NO!!!!!!!...but if so ONLY and I mean ONLY with a stick.
4. Atlas is GM's name for the 4,5 and 6 cyl. inline engines refered to also as Vortec's.(not the 4cyl.ecotec-L850) The blocks are tall and would have to be modified for the kappa I believe. But the 5 cyl. did fit into the last Bel-Air Concept (trail blazer frame.---BOF anyone?) so depending on the car (ZETTA? PLEASE!!!!) it could work. And compared to the v6's, atlas' have much more torqe and HP, plus smoother runnig. I've also read that the next Gen. inline 6 will have DOD (dispalecment on demand). Didn't think it was pssible in straight 6 but I guess I was wrong. :CG_all:
5. Anyone have ideas as to other uses for the ATLAS engines? Cars? Crossovers? Lawnmowers?etc....?
6. Thanx...cancelling subscription as we speak!!! :) :P
7. Saturn was right on target when they started out...but if GM didn't take control they would have died a few years back. The plastic panels can't be as tight as steel. GM made Saturn go steel now, to produce tighter gaps and less noise and higher quality. Make no mistake...saturns last as long as anything....but unfortunately people don't care about longevity these days...which is why the American car companies are suffering. I would would love to see how long the asian brands last compared to American brands and the price you pay for asian parts to keep your baby running. When the asians take over....don't blame me that your "headlight cost's $500...ok?
8. Are you stupid? (and let's not talk like that) Jack smith (if you read my whole piece) mad money for the big shots by not investing anything into GM's future!!!! He put in ROBOTS that tried to put "TRUNKS ON STATINON WAGONS" yes picture it...and then he "CUT AND RAN and that's why WAGNER IS IN TROUBLE ...soryy but "STUPID!!
9. Janesville just retooled for GMT 900's so not gone.........yet. Mexico is turnig from SUV's to Pickups...to offset the sale change
10. Well by now we know the 3800 is on it's way out. It's an emissions issue more than anything...but the 90 degree design does give much torque...not sure about hp besides super charged. I would agree that the 3.9 is detuned...in my opinion (beyond detuned) I could be wrong, but I believe it has a STEEL CRANK. This would mean it could have a very high redline if allowed to do so. It seams to me GM holds back too much on what it's engines are really capable of...too conservative for todays "take a risk" markets.
11. Yes...let's cut the flleet business (Oshowa, Ont.) 'cause that's what you do when market share is down, right? Like the Caprice that everyone wishes had stayed. I think I remember when Chrysler was in trouble....the police cars kept their heads above water? Good Job Rick...don't want to disappoint the gready "DAY TRADERS"...I'm sure they'll be with you down the rough road ahead....
12. Honda Civic? mmmmmmmm...oh yes...JUNK!!! Shut up Motor Trend....Yhank You Bye!!!! (When did Motor Trend get bought out by the Japs anyway?)...
13. I agree about the inventory not being there. The Employee Pricing wiped the dealers out of the most popular models (appearently GM has some). Let's just hope the one's who were ready to buy then have been waiting and not going elsewhere....(particularly to Asia). If this is the case...then the RED TAG could be a big boost.
14. That's FUGI's own fault. They are a paranoid company and don't like to share too much. So they go it alone and scare people (like GM) off from doing joint programs. GM got out (atleast from what I gather) of the Subaru deal because they wouldn't share enough technolgy about their all wheel drive. I believe Chrysler is selling Mitsubishi for simalar reasons. Fugi has bailed out Mitsubishi 3 times? I believe. That must have hurt them quite a bit finacially. FUGI...Didn't your Mommy teach you how to share?

XLR redesign

Angular Styling is what I've always loved about Cadillacs. It sets them apart from foreign competition and other GM brands. Of course, if I had it my way, the 59' tailfins would be on every model. I cried when the Hearses went to front wheel drive btw.
16.

You can see Mr Aachen head on GM TV today,[ Wasn't that guy in the picture in "The Deer Hunter?" [post="45139"][/post]
That is sooo not right.......(but can't stop laughing)........ :rotflmao:
17. Thanx for the info...Theta and Epsilon 2 right?
18. GM will close plants as they have been for years. And they will cut 25,000 jobs thru attrition as they have been doing for years. This is not new. The UAW will not oppose this as long as the affected active workers have plants to tranfer to which they will. And I was speaking of Kerkorian WILDMANJOE, who if givin the chance will surely put GM's auto business out of business! He want's GMAC and all GM's cash. Soon I suspect he will threaten to pull his cash out in order to Green-Mail GM into giving him (or his buddy YORK?) seat on the board.
19. In my opinion...(and we all know what those are like) Janesville won't be gone for a while as they've just retooled for the 900's and Mexico is switching from SUV's to pickups. So there will be only 2 plants building 900 SUV's which seems to fit the forcast so far. Spring Hill is retooling as I write this. For what who know's? I heard this info from people at work who transfered from these plants. That said...who know's what GM will do? They've closed plants in the past only months after investing MILLIONS into them. Doarville would be my top pick. BTW...Jersey and Baltimore are closed (maybe not "officially" but for all intensive purposes anyway).
20. What happened to the good old days...when we hung Traitors? Isn't outsourcing to enemy countries like China a form of Treason? It undermines our economy, puts us in debt to them (and others like Saudi Arabia) and when our deficit get's high enough they can collect their debts all at once pulling out their foreign investment and we can go back to 1929 lifestyles. Thanks "Steve" and "GW".
21. Sweet but no "bouncy shocks"? They should offer those as an option on the '06. And where is Cheech and Chong?
22. I just pray the "Old Fart" croaks before he can do too much damage. Don't take your billions and help the poor or anything you old tight ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahaha
23. ME? I could re-open the factories and call it "YOU BUILD IT". Like "Build a Bear" or "U-Store IT". I'd keep like ten former plant managers (who won't be able to get a job anyway) and have them give a quick lesson to people how to run the machinery (safety first of 'course). They simply pick out a model and pay 25% above material costs, parts delivery, 1 employee per plant and use of faciltiy then I pocket say 10 to 15%. So bring lot's of friends folks and maybe a machanic for advice....Let me know what you think??????? :rotflmao:
24. Hy-brids are not so much about saving money (Prius...$7000 to replace battery...so you can imagine the depreciation at trade in) but being envirenmentally friendly. I'm all for people driving Hy-brids and other alternative fuel vehicles 'cause it will cause gasoline prices to drop and make it cheaper for me to drive my gas guzzling V8 without DOD!!! Thanx "Tree-Huggers!!!!!!!!!" :metal:
